Lacks in customer service
Professionalism is good with little complaints, especially the room attendant staff (maid staff). Floor waitresses in the Casino are hit and miss for hospitality depending on who is managing the floor or serving the guests. Our first two days (Sunday and Monday), we had to ask the floor supervisors if they had anyone working the floor while we were gambling at the slots. The rest of days and nights were fine. Room service or Bell staff is hit and miss. We received our baggage on arrival by a staff member that was pleasant and all smiles. Our delivery of Champagne for our anniversary toast was just "ok". Later during the week we had our laundry picked up by a Bell staff member that was somewhat rude about paperwork (The staff member directly requested the pink or customer copy and gave us the “yellow” Bell desk copy) then bluntly told us he would be back at 7:30 pm with no thank you, good bye or anything. This left us perplexed as to how the staff is being treated by management. Hospitality is lacking for various reasons; The staff at the front desk and courtesy desks seem to do what they are taught and trained to do but seem to have no care about the guests other than following guidelines they have learned, repeating what they have been instructed to do with very few smiles and letting the customer know they feel welcome. I will add that we did see one gentleman at the desk being very pleasant but ours was not. Courtesy and kindness by the Bell staff is “hit and miss” depending on what is asked by the guest (very few smiles, being exact with no courtesy, direct without giving the guest a feeling of being welcome). Our experience at three restaurants inside Treasure Island also gave us a feeling of "where is the customer service?" with the exception of one restaurant which is highly recommended. We dined for our anniversary celebration dinner at the Social House and found it exhilarating and enjoyable. The hotel should keep this restaurant, chef and wait staff at all costs. The managers at this restaurant must treat the employees with respect and gratitude. Our wait staff attended to every need and were always available for questions or recommendations for a joyful and exciting dining experience, The food was excellent. Our “attempt” to eat at Kahunaville was disappointing. We were invited at poolside to eat there by one of the staff promoting the restaurant. When we showed up from inside the Casino an hour later there was no service at our table for @ 10 minutes, only after we lit a cigarette (we forgot about the no smoking in restaurants) a waitress came over and let us know there was no smoking, did not offer to serve us, walked away, and no one came by to see if we needed anything for awhile.. so we left. (Keep in mind the restaurant was slow to say the least) There were a couple of other items but this should be enough for any “guest” of Treasure Island. We wrote the office manager concerning some of these experiences and no one cared to contact us about our experiences. Overall, a sense of being welcome by T.I. with warm greetings by staff is not common as far as we could tell. We will not recommend Treasure Island, or any of its affiliates to anyone we come in contact with at home. Our advice to them will be to stay in any hotel not associated with their organization. When we return it will not be the Mirage, MGM, Treaure Island or any of its affiliates. Our enjoyment had both been 50/50 during our stay and I hope our experience is not common with guests staying at T. I.
