Humiliated by staff
My wife & I plus several friends have frequented this Hotel many times over the years & have been very happy with the services provided there.
Unfortunately our last visit was next to ruined by a little incident that never should have occurred.
While gambling on a slot machine at the bar I accidently threw away a winning hand by failing to hold my winning cards. I admit that it was not the brightest thing to do I mentioned to a friend what I had done in a joking manner as the amount was not very significant.
One of the bartenders overheard the conversation & indicated that they could call someone to check the history & "possibly" get back my credits.
Being only $15.00 it did not seem to be a big deal but he was already calling someone to check it out.
First a lady came over & I explained what happenned & she said that I should not drink while gambling but I had only been there a short time after driving five hours & consumming only a couple of drinks. She also said that poker was...Read more

Terribles - not what it used to be
I have stayed at Terribles numerous times upon leisure trips to Vegas, both alone and with my husband.
Although I have always enjoyed Terribles before, our Dec '05 trip was another matter.
Terribles is in the process of adding a garage (sorely needed) and new hotel tower - meanwhile both hotel security and upkeep are suffering. Employees lockers are now located in trailers on the south end of the property - they tend to leave all the doors open to the hotel - but in reality, you can walk directly from the casino to the hotel corridors anyway! the other concern is that the rooms which I have stayed in before were usually clean, neat, in good repair - this time the window had no weather-stripping, the shower head had a leak that sprayed water on the wallpaper above (although I must admit both were fixed quickly once I notified them) and the room felt somewhat old and tattered - although Terribles was never fancy, it had always been better than on this visit.
The breakfast buf...Read more

Cheap and cheerful
I always stay at Terribles, because it is usually quite inexpensive. It is not far from the convention center, and not far from the Strip. Food is cheap too. Get a room on the top floor, overlooking the inner courtyard, if you can - less noise.

What could have been
Upon arriving at the hotel I was halted by the parking attendant telling me I could not park in the space next to the valet drive. Mind you I was in a long pickup with a 20 foot cargo trailer hooked to it, and I was there to check-in for a three stay. Ok, so where do I park, while I am checking in. Off the property. Sir!! You'll have to move we have no place for you the park that thing. I tell him it will be OK and go inside to check in. Mean time he jumps on my wife and daughter about moving my rig. While inside I tell the folks at the desk about the parking guy and they tell me not to worry about him. I check in go back to my rig and find this fool is making a real ass of himself, has called security on me and is wanting me hauled off to jail. Well, I invided this young man out behind the barn to settle the matter. Now this guy gets all puffed up like a poisoned pup and says I am threatening him. I point out that I did not threaten him but made him a promise to kick his a-- until it ...Read more
