Having been to Las Vegas before, I was very excited to be staying at the Paris Las Vegas on this trip. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and gives you the feel of being in Paris. However this excitement quickly faded upon check in. Keep in mind I booked my trip for Memorial Day weekend 2006 in December 2005 which included paying for a full night as a deposit when I made the reservation. However when I went to check in, the extremely rude desk clerk (probably the rudest person I have ever encountered at a hotel) told me that the Paris Las Vegas was overbooked and my reservation had been moved to the much lower quality Bally's Las Vegas hotel next door. When I asked the desk clerk how they could possibly do this since I had booked the room 6 months ago and already paid for one night to hold the room, she told me that they can do what they want and it does not matter what deposit I paid or when I reserved the room. She also told me that the airlines overbook flights all the time and bump people off flights and the Paris Las Vegas does the same. So as a result of the fact that I am not a high roller and don't lose thousands of dollars at their hotel I was moved to the much older and much less nice Bally's Las Vegas. I could not have been more disappointed as I was really looking forward to staying at the Paris Las Vegas. In addition to the problems with the room, I found the staff at the Paris Las Vegas to be extremely rude. We ate at the restaurant Mon Ami Gabi (inside the Paris Las Vegas) and stood at the hostess stand for approximately 5 minutes while the 3 hostesses talked amongst themselves before they even acknowledged us, even though I tried to interrupt them. Additionally, the staff at the check in desk was some of the rudest I have ever encountered. Never once did they apologize for situation and were completely unsympathetic. Based on this experience I will definitely never stay at the Paris Las Vegas or any of the related properties owned by Caesar's Entertainment, including Bally's Las Vegas, Rio, Caesars Palace, the Flamingo, and Harrah's. Never have I been treated so rudely by hotel staff. If you are looking for a hotel where the staff ignores you and treats you rudely and you are a risk taker and want to take a chance that you won't have a room once you arrive at the hotel, then the Paris Las Vegas is definitely for you!
