Incompetent Staff Resulting In Stolen Luggage
I have been travelling to Las Vegas for the last 16 straight years and staying at the Motel 6 Tropicana each time (probably 40 stays) Up until Nov/06 I never had a problem. Nov /06 I checked into the Motel 6 in the late afternoon and was assigned a "back room". Went out for the evening and returned late in evening (approx.11:30 pm)to discover 3 men in my room. Returned to front office with one of the gentlemen to advise of the mix up.Advised the front desk that these gentlemen were assigned the room at about 9:30 pm (approx.4 hours after I had checked in). Staff at the front desk did not seem to be too concerned and advised the other gentleman to return to his (my) room. I advised the front desk that my girlfriend's luggage was missing from the room. Front desk advised me that my girlfriend's luggage had been moved to another room earlier in the evening.I told the "acting manager" that she could not legally do this without notifying the customer (me) first.At this time my girlfriend contacted the police. I had a security escort to this new room and opened the door to discover that the luggage was not there,the bed had been used, and the towels were dirty. I returned to the front desk with a security guard to complain that the room had been used. 15 minutes later a gentleman entered the office to complain that there was someone in his room.I turned around to discover my girlfriend and his wife together in the office. Not only had the front desk booked someone into my room, they also assigned me to an alredy occupied room. After more than 4 hours in the office that night and early evening the staff could nor offer me any explanations nor would they advise any answers pertaining to the occupants of the room. There was a "Security Issue" they had to protect. Where would my security have been had my girlfriend and me returned from the night out a few hours earlier ??? A word of advise to anyone reading this ... spend the extra money and stay the night in a hotel and avoid this place. I am now a former Motel 6 customer as there is no possible chance that I will ever stay at this place again. Total amature hour at the front desk. Legal action is pending
