Top Local Tips for Las Vegas

Things I may have missed. I know you are on holiday, but a couple of things, which may seem not on your agenda, are worth a try. The Shuttle bus instead of a taxi, a reasonably priced form of transport to get you to and from the airport. Walk, lots of it, as far as the Stratosphere if you can, yep a long way, but taken steadily then you can see the transformation of the Strip taking place at close hand, many people do. Try the various hotel buffets instead or restaurants, the majority we have tried offer some very good food, and yes we have had some crap, but for me to put names to these places would be unfair as it is only a personal preference. Do pay at least one trip to the Margaritaville bar, good atmosphere, although the clientèle are mainly 21 - 40 don't let the put you off, especially if you are older than that. A hat, especially if the weather is like we had, hot, everyday, it may not be cool, but if you have, shall we say, thin hair, then advisable.

When Playing Blackjack Please do not play at the tables where blackjack pays 6 to 5. They are ripping you off at these tables and this is not real blackjack. Play only at tables that pay 3 to 2 on blackjack. Not only will you be saving yourself money gambling but hopefully the casinos will start shutting these tables down.
