This is a terrible place to stay. The construction noise and smells were awful, our room was unclean and the staff was totally unhelpful. For the price we paid, we should have had a MUCH better experience - their customer service folks just told us we should have seen what it looked like a few years ago and that they were renovating. Excuse me, but how is that my problem? Terrible experience.

Luxor Not What It Use To Be

I stayed at the Luxor over the weekend in July with three 20 year olds and we were all very dissapointed. First, the room carpet, tables and chairs were stained, dirty and just overall worn out, TV didn't work properly, the view from our 17th floor room looked down upon a mess of wires and the casino floor was under construction, dusty and very cold. The pool area was a little better until they blasted the music (louder does not make it better). If you are trying to cater to the younger 20-30 year set, that's fine, but when I have two 20 year olds (who are dancers and also act and do musical theater) who thought the loud music was so tacky and their ears where ringing for the next 12 hours it times to go to another hotel. They charge too much and offer very litte. All this for $275 for a Saturday night. Only thing good was their food.

Filthy place!

The Luxor used to be a grand and pristine place to vacation, but we found that maintenance has gone the way of the dodo. The outside of the door to our room and many others was discustingly filthy, and the floors in the hallways were littered and unkempt. Construction noise was dominant all day long, and the dust and dirt was tracked everywhere. The wait to register was over 30 minutes! The pool was very nice, and the restaurants were good as well. Consider another location unless you don't mind the noise, dirt and poor maintenance.

Cleanliness

I was suprised that a hotel like this would be so unclean. The room hadn't been properly vaccuumed in a while and the hallway was litered with garbage, including garbage from the guest rooms. It's unfortunate that the Luxor doesn't provide an e-mail address since I would prefer to send this to them rather than post it here.

Watch Out For the Buffet

We checked in at 2:00PM and headed to the Lunch-Buffet. My fiance had stomac poisoning for the next 4 days...we spent it in the room with little help from the hotel. Buying meds in the convenience store was a rip-off. They got us sick and then charged crazy prices for meds. We received lots of lip service from their Risk Managers but no follow up. It was a terrible experience and I'm happy to say that with so many other hotel casino's in Las Vegas, I wont have to stay there again....BEWARE OF THIS PLACE

We found the check in staff a little off hand, and it's not as if they were particularly busy at the time. However, the hotel was comfortable. The facilities and entertainment excellent. We were only there for 2 nights, in which we managed to get to see the Blue Man Show. I would recommend this to anyone as it was superb.

I was pregnant at the time that we stayed at the Luxor. We had wanted to stay in the room that had the hot tub and that was in our price range, but they were booked up. The luxor staff was very helpful in finding us another room with the same amenity that what have been out of our price range, and made it our price range. It was very VERY helpful and life saving since that hot bath was really needed after the 5hrs in the car. I was very happy with the helpful service and would absolutely stay there again.

We recently stayed again at the Luxor Hotel in 2004 and 2005. The hotel is excellent in its staff, location and price. I would stay there anytime in the future.

Great Las Vegas Casino Hotel

This hotel/casino is one of nicest newer hotels to stay at in Vegas and is relatively inexpensive compared to the other major casino/hotels. I have stayed at the Luxor many times because it was always one of the cheapest big casinos to stay at as well as being a really cool pyramid building to stay in. For a real experience, be sure to book your room in the pyramid and not one of the adjoining towers. It is also close to many other major casinos such as Mandalay Bay and Excalibur, each with walkways from the Luxor.
