Beautiful hotel. Close enough to the Strip but also far enough away.
Very tasteful, we loved it!
JW Marriott Was Fantastic

The J.W. Marriott was great (stayed 9/26/03-10/04/03. Very short trip to The Strip which we decided was not worth leaving the JW for. The hotel staff is wonderful. The best service I have had in a long time.
Much better than the Venetian where I stayed 10 days after the JW. The spa is out of this world. Only complaint is too many locals in the casino which made the craps table one of the most boring I have played.
With respect to golf, forget Badlands and Angel Park. If you can get on TPC, go for it. Otherwise, you must try Las Vegas Paiute (30 min drive but well worth it), or Siena (closer and in very good shape). All in all, I highly recommend the JW.
Spent OCT12&13th. here and did not want to leave for our next room on THE STRIP...The room & grounds were so CLEAN, relaxing and comfortable. We were on the 6th floor with a gorgeous view from the balcony of THE STRIP. Huge room & bath were just unbelievable! (We did not eat or really gamble on the premise.) We did use the beautiful pool, which we had all to ourselves both morning and afternoon. The entire place is surrounded by babbling brooks, waterfalls and lagoons to sit by. We will be coming back here again, as it was just great to have some down time after spending most of the day fighting huge crowds on the Strip. We had rooms at MIRAGE&VENETIAN, but the pool and grounds were simply a mob scene ...JW was a like a refreshing piece of heaven to come back and rest at. Well worth the 15-20min. drive. By the end of the trip, we wished we had stayed here the entire time!
We stayed here for 4 days from 10/2/03 to 10/6/03 and was somewhat leary because of some of the reviews. I was totally impressed with the facility and the rooms it was absolutly marvelous. The bathroom is to die for. Two sinks, a private toilet room, jacuzzi and waterfall shower. The floors in the room are marble and the view was fantastic.
If you want to spend some quiet, quality time this is the place. It is 15 minutes from the strip if you go the easy way, if you get lost it will take you at least an hour to get here. The grounds are beautiful, the casino is first class not nearly as noisy, busy and smokey as downtown strips. I would highly reccommend this resort for anyone who wants to go to Vegas but get away from it all.
s not all that

We arrived at the Marriott on 9-12-03 through 9-14-03. There are two towers The Palms and The Spa. Make sure you request the Palms it's newer. The Spa Tower is some what rundown- walls, etc. Bed was comfy along with temp setting. We requested non-smoking and received ,which was nice. I pampered myself with the stone therapy and it was great. My mother did the Swedish spa and she was very dissappointed. The therapist did not massage any of her anterior body. I did not like the fact that in the spa area there are signs posted everywhere regarding the age limits of children-under the age of 12 you need an adult. Well I was the adult and they told me that he still was unable to swim in the pool inspite of the MISLEADING sign by the pool. I complained and to know avail. Their excuse was insurance purposes and that chilren have to be 18. He even suggested to send my son by himself to the pool. How dissapointed I was. The buffet is terrible and full of filler up food. Advice- go somewhere else like the Suncoast-great buffet and good prices too. Especially brunch. In the gaming area we found them not friendly at all. Wont do again not worth the money.
Loved JW Marriott
I honestly cannot say enough nice things about it. They had the most beautiful pool and landscaped grounds....it was so pretty it made for relaxing and peaceful enjoyment. The hotel and grounds were gorgeous and clean. This hotel had the greatest bathroom that I have ever been in - huge jacuzzi bathtub for 2, large shower with the overhead nozzle with ample water pressure...felt like you were standing under a waterfall. The complimentary travel size shampoos and conditioners were the best I have ever used in a hotel. This was the most well lit hotel bathroom I've been in (which is great when applying make up-most other hotels I've stayed in do not have sufficient br lighting)..oh, even had a magnified make up mirror. If I visited Vegas again, I would stay here. It was only a short drive to the strip...also close to major shopping and restaurants. The food was great, the staff always friendly and helpful. I was amazed at all the extras this hotel provided - great clothes hangers, robes, great sized towels...lots of extra pillows, comfortable bed, small frig, exercise room. I would almost love to live in this hotel! I know it does not sound like much, but it was a great experience. You will need a rental car..or taking a cab from JW to the strip would be very expensive it you plan to do it more than a couple of times. The hotel provided a free shuttle but it was only m-f, like 9am-5pm.I liked this hotel better than any that I have ever stayed at. I was here for a conference and since I had never been to Vegas thought I would stay one extra night and stay on the strip for the experience and convenience. I stayed at the Venetian, it was nice but I liked Marriott much better, other than the Ventian was a suite and had a living room.
Upgraded to a suite! Awesome!

Our organization stayed at the JW Marriott in June as part of a convention. The hotel was sold out and when we came in, they didn't have our 3 rooms ready. They called us over and asked if we would be willing to share a suite instead. This suite had 2 huge bedrooms, 3 giant bathrooms, and over 2200 s.f. It also had a balcony overlooking the strip. It was, without a doubt, the most elegant, wonderful hotel room we'd ever been in. The grounds were spectacular, the pool was gorgeous, and the hotel staff was wonderful. The only black spot in this otherwise perfect trip was the wait staff at the restaurants (with the exception of the pub, they were great). The wait staff was rude, slow, and downright awful. I suggest the managment invest in a new restaurant staff.
The kids loved it too!
This is a first class resort! The rooms are spacious, the service is excellent, and the kids loved the pool. If you are interested in relaxing off the strip, this is the ticket for you. I loved it because the trip into town was short but the pace at the resort was relaxing.
Poor service! from a loyal Marriott customer
We stayed on the strip for 4 days from July 16- 20,03. Then were looking forward to our 3 days off of it based on the reviews we read about the J.W.Marriott. Boy were we disappointed. The room was nice, nice shower, nice pool. nice in every way but only nice at best. The service was poor. Nothing spectacular! Didn't go out of their way to make you feel as if you were paying for anything. Expected it to be wonderfull based on others reviews and the number 2 spot. Guess that their ability to be nice had run out on all of the guests prior to us.
Should of stayed on the strip at the Mirage for the rest of our trip.
We were treated like royalty!
Special resort away from the crowds
(7/28/03) I just stayed at the resort and it proved to be as impressive as the reviews I read before I went. It is about 15 minutes (by car) from the strip in a very nice area. The hotel itself is architecturally stunning and the grounds are immaculate. If you want to stay away from the crowds this is the place. The staff is very attentive and unobtrusive. The pool is wonderful and the casino right in the middle of the two towers.
