Top Local Tips for Las Vegas

Take a taxi! We tried 'The Duece' (public bus system) and found it was efficient, but slow, and you could be left standing waiting for the next bus as they were often filled to capacity. Towards the end of our trip we got tired and started taking taxis, and it was totally worth it. If you're willing to feed a $20 into a slot machine, pay a taxi to take you from one end of the strip to the other. It's more than worth the price! Everyone we dealt with was quick and efficient, and didn't even try to take us for a ride, plus the drivers had great tips on the best places to eat, which locals know best.

The City that doesn't sleep and nither do you Comfortable Shoes are a must!!!! Lipbalm as your lips dry up with the desert heat. A camera because when you tell people about some of the sights you have seen they won't believe you. Go easy on the free beer if you are going to gamble. The House loves it when you are well oiled as you will play much looser and take risks you wouldn't normally take.For a fantastic cocktail experience try Red Square in Mandalay bay. start with a sputnik.(half price cocktails after 11.00pm) Next door to Red Square is Rum Jungle which is a fabulous restaurant which turns into a night club at 10:30. If you eat here it is free entry to nightclub. The Voodoo Lounge has the same offer if you eat there.For an old school casino make sure you visit Bally's at least once. it has a great atmosphere and the dealers are top class especially Wic and Jarod at the roulette tables. Other Good eating places were Outback on the strip and best of all Dan Marinos restaurant in Hooters casino with spicy chicken wings 25c each
