Great laid back hotel - great staff

Comfortable rooms, situated opposite the MGM at one end of the Vegas strip (not bad at all), very nice staff, would probably stay here again....however beware of upcoming building works....it is to become a Hooters Casino Hotel which will no doubt require extensive works.

The San Remo/Hooters Hotel is easily the worst htoel in las vegas....the airconditioning didnt work during out entire stay...when asked maintance staff to fix the problem - they said to jump into the pool to cool off - the rooms were NOT clean - water spots on ceilings dirt on walls - and BUGS - there were many bugs in our room - that the front desk reffered to as bettels - I do not feel that the bugs were an isolated incident...as the room next door aslo had many bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE - SPEND THE EXTRA &20-50 DOLLARS

I was surprised at how old the hotel was and that is needed painting and updating. Sorry I cannot help with something kind. I do hope you remodel. I love the location.

- Check in was quick and friendly. The desk clerk laughed and joked with us and made us feel welcome.
- We didn't gamble a lot, but we did come out ahead and all of the dealers were friendly and we had a good time.
- The room was clean and comfortable.

Well, I loved it!!

You big bunch of whiners! What did you expect from a brand spanking new place, instant perfection? If you've ever been to Hooters, then you know that they glory in the delightfully tacky, yet unrefined! To me, this place was almost too good! I found it to be extremely clean and well-run and have never come across more friendly and helpful employees on the strip or at any other hotel I've stayed at for that matter. The Hooters Girls were beautiful and sweet, the room was charming and comfortable (great beds, sheets, and towels, too!) and room service was awesome. The restaurants had a few problems getting food and drinks out fast enough, but I guess I'm more understanding than the rest of you, because I've had those same experiences at most other new places, too. It was a refreshing change from the bigger (colder?) casinos and I know they will only get better and better as time goes on. I fully intend to stay there again. Oh and, by the way, I am a straight woman and went there with my girlfriends. Gals, let me tell you - this is a great place to meet guys!

I am sincerely stating that I am the most tolerant individual to an organization that is flatout ill prepared but this takes the cake, I warn you that they are the worst at comprehending the meaning of customer service and I would like to take this opportunity to help any and all to refrain from dealing with horrors that for whatever reason the front desk could not understand nor care to hear anything about but just hid behind the fact that they were not finished with construction even though I wasn't complaining about the fact that most of the furniture was missing although they refused to offer me a reduced rate and went so far as to make me realiize that they could probably rent this room for 1200 dollars. Drywall dust was readily available for an interesting decorative approach to the inside of the rooms in the (Bungalow!!!) ...Beware and check out the blogs on their own website it is a tell all.

Still a lot of work to be done. We stayed here 2 nights for a bachelor party. The Hooter's girl dealers are a nice touch, they just need to get rid of the old San Remo dealers. Although, the Hooter's girl dealers make mistakes, often in your favor. The sports book is the worst I have seen, only a white board. With a new hotel that caters to guys, how can you not have a great sports book. Not very many women stay here so you'll have to leave the property for that. They also seem to have a plumbing problem. Our sink did not drain at all and was not fixed when we called down. Basically ignored us. There was also busted pipes in the stairwells. It really has potential as a boutique hotel for guys but they are missing the boat so far.

We stayed at the hotel San Remo now known as hooters back in June of 2005 and thought the front desk people were very rude and the rooms were not that clean.We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniverery and I felt if I had known what was in store for me I would never of stayed there.

this is the worst dump i have ever stayed in in my life. 546 bucks for 3 nights i wish id just threw my money in the dumpster. this is a filthy nasty dump stay away.

Nail up some cedar 2X6's on the old San Remo and you got Hooters!
Not really renovated at all. Small, shabby rooms - Half the light bulbs in the room were burned out - not 3 weeks after openning. The main lightswitch was half in the closet!
Terrible service, had to call 4 times over 3 hours to get a roll away. I've stayed in every major hotel in Vegas and this is the WORST!

Do yourself a favor - head somewhere else - anywhere else!

All I can say is, the pool has rated a 2.5 star rating and it hasn't even been put in yet. All the one star reviews are correct. The walls are thin, the decor is -- well, i guess we shouldn't have expected the decor to be nicer than your average hooters, but what can I say, we got a good deal and were hoping they'd improve on the theme a little.

For example: the chairs provided in the rooms are bar stools. Maybe that's okay when you're drunk, but when you're trying to relax in your room, it's not going to be comfortable for more than about four and a half minutes.

Everyone's cutting them slack because they're new, but even when they're done it's still going to be cheezy and uncomfortable. Put it this way: if Hooter's is your favorite restaurant, you might like it, (provided you're also deaf and don't mind being kept awake all night by the snoring from the room next door). But if you're not into Hooter's, you won't find the hotel to be any nicer than the restaurant.

P.S. The girls aren't even hot.

Okay, yes, it's a new place that opened about two months too early. So the fact that the rooms are unfinished -- featuring a table without a table top, a coffeemaker without a carafe, beds that slope, phones that still say "San Remo," no pool yet, no hangers in the closet -- well, that could be taken care of eventually. However....

- The walls are paper thin. We heard the guy next door complaining about the hotel to his friends on the phone for several hours, and it sounded like he was in the room with us.

- The casino is small and dumpy. Not in a good way, like the cool places local frequent. Just in a cheesy, suburban mall kind of "small and dumpy."

- The Hooters girls are barely there. If you've been to a Hooters, you know they're generally less than you're led to believe from the calendars anyway. But there are never more than ten or so around -- a couple bartenders, a couple waitresses, and that's about it -- so if you go here thinking you're gonna be living it up like you're in the Playboy mansion, think again.

- To sum up, the San Remo was a terrible hotel, and it's no better with a new coat of paint.

What a sad day for Las Vegas

It was a sad day for true fans of Las Vegas the day that the Hotel San Remo closed its doors and became the joke of the strip aka the Hooters Casino. The San Remo was an intimate place where gamers could go to play reasonable tables and unwind in comfortable yet affordable rooms. The rooms are by no means worthy of the 200 + dollars a night that the Hooters hotel is trying to bring in but they were quaint and personable The thing that I don't get is that if you want scantly clad women serving you drinks, you would be much better off going anywhere else on the strip because they wear less than the hooters girls. Any guy that stays there is a joke (and don't say it is because the wings are good because guess what, they aren't) and a women that stays there truly has no self respect. What a travesty...NASCAR nation is taking over!

If you want ordinary go somewhere else

This may be the most fun in Vegas that is allowed with your clothes on. The people are amazing. The service is excellent. You could not find more people having more fun in a single space anywhere!!! I'm not sure how to convince you but their slogan is true, "The Cure For The Common Casino".

There were a few bumps along the way but Hey, they aren't done yet. The pool isn't finished as of this writing and some of the dealers and staff are still learning the rules of the house as well as the computer systems.

If you want to have fun, play for a while, stay for a smile, then come to Hooters Casino Hotel.

Go to V. I. P. and tell them Uncle Gary sent you.

Top Local Tips for Las Vegas

Half Price Tix Please please please dont go direct to the hotel for tickets for attractions!!! Use the half price tix boxes at the Coke/M&M showcase place - We saved a fortune!!! They had some tickets that would cost $70 for $22 INCLUDING tax (big shows as well). One example is they had $50 off Phantom tickets at the Venetian.We saved on Tournament of Kings - we paid $35 instead of $62...and for Spamalot we still saved aboutr $10 each as well

In Vegas Remember to TIP My Tip is to TIP everyone from the doorman to the maids from the front desk to the bartenders to the person at the clube orange desk. Waiter waitresses all of them WILL REMEMBER YOU IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO APPRICAITE THERE HARD WORK. Take it from me and I am a bartender who knows this business. A tip will get you far in Vegas..........that's my tip for the day.

Get a bus pass It is well worth the $5 to get the all day bus pass. You will get to see way more, and you won't spend a fortune in taxi fare.
