A real nice place to stay and play. Me and my wife really liked the four queens, we stayed at other places but we both liked staying here. The people that work there seem real nice. The lady who checked us in was real nice. So when we go back we will look into staying at the four queens again. Good place to stay. Also they have a good players club.

Nice place very inexpensive for the weekend. Had a blast staying downtown.

I far prefer downtown to the Strip. Everything is in much easier reach, downtown. People also seem to be friendlier.
The meals & drinks are half the price of the strip, which I found very expensive. The four Queens is a nice hotel, located in the heart of downtown. They have plenty of slots & tables for gamblers, food is good & rooms are clean.

Our dinner at Hugo's was just terrible. The chicken was tough and the duck was not eatable. Salads and wine were delicious but for the price the entrees were terrible. Don't think we will visit again. In the casino I had to wait 40 minutes to come to my gambling machine for payoff. Not acceptable.

bathroom could have been much cleaner!!!

The bathroom had dirty towels & wash cloths in it when we arrived, called housekeeping and they were in no hurry to remidy the situation.
Light bulbs were burnt out and you could not get one unscrewed and thew other the light bulb would not screw in. Also the bathroom had black mold in the corners of the shower, which with a little effort could have been cleaned. Mine at home isn't that way and I don't thindk when you are spending 80.00 a nite you should have to put up with that...
Will never stay with you again......

The Four Queens a love and hate relationship

I stayed at the Four Queens in August on one of the lower level floors, no one told me the Freemont Experience sound was so loud it seemed that it went on for a couple of hours. The people next door to me were fighting and screaming everynight I complained that did find them another room which impressed me. On the room it was clean the bathroom a little small the casino was tight and crowded and the food court was not that great. Ask me if I would stay there again maybe??? on a higher floor to combat the noise for convenience it was great!!!!

Stayed at the Four Queens 10-22-03 to 10-24-03 and would definately stay there again. Enjoyed the whole downtown experience. My room was very clean, the staff was very nice, and it was very conveniently located. The room was a little noisy, but who goes to Vegas to sleep?

great hotel for the money

our stay t the Four Queens was super. The hotel is a great value for the money . We had a room that faced Fremont Street and every morning we had breakfast delivered to our room and the service and food was exceptional The staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms were very clean ,we could not have asked for more . We will stay there again ,and we are downtown lovers , we always stay downtown. Try the Four Queens you will not be disappointed

We found the staff at the Four Queens to be most graceful and willing to help with any request. Our room was nothing special, but it was clean and comfortable. The housekeeping person apparently did not know the difference in shampoo and body lotion, after three days, we had three bottles of lotion, but no shampoo (fortunately, we had some of our own). We have always enjoyed the casino in the Four Queens, but this trip we did not spend much time there because the temperature (according to a display on the wall) was between 76 and 77 degrees F. This may be okay for many, but we found it uncomfortably warm. Will we go there again? Absolutely!!

The Four Queens has nothing to offer other than its casino as far as ameneties go - not even a pool. However! walking through the hotel gives you a sense of pride, as if your staying at a 4 or 5 star hotel due to the shiny mirrors and bright lights that give the hotel a glitzy and glamorous feel. Just step outside the hotel and your right in the heart of the Freemont Experience where every night from 8-12 they have exciting and awesome laser light shows and there is plenty to do right on Fremont St. without having to drive to the strip (10 minutes by car) the room was nice and the bathroom included complimentary travel sized shampoo/conditioner. Not a big deal but again, considering the room rates, your lucky to get any. The hotel has free enclosed parking which should keep your car cool should you have one. Overall, it wasn't the greatest place to stay, but it provided what really matter most, a clean room and comfortable room at a fraction of what you would pay for anything comparable.

My husband and I miss the "old" Vegas and you provide the nostalgic atmosphere missing from all of the new "sterile" resorts and casinos.Your staff was cheerful, helpful and always pleasant; we intend to suggest your hotel to ALL of our associates. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by the generosity of your gaming facility! The refrigerator in our room was not cooling properly, we called and waited approx. 10 minutes, unbelievable, the response time was record breaking, your Engineer replaced the unit, all with a smile! We couldn't help but remark at how knowledgeable and informative all of your staff was, including your Security Department.Our room was clean and spacious; we enjoyed your instantaneous room service, on demand movies and the convenience of your taxi service. One thing absolutely stood out during our stay and this may sound strange, considering the climate during our visit BUT please commend your superb Chef on the delectable MINESTRONE soup, what a delightful "elixir", such an unexpected taste treat.We have read reviews on your hotel rooms and were surprised by some suggesting that you try and stay as far from the Fremont St. experience as possible, because of the noise. We were on the ninth floor overlooking the Fremont and thoroughly enjoyed the nightly light show, honestly if you visit Las Vegas for a quiet nights sleep, something is wrong with you. We had the opportunity to enjoy a few fireworks on Thursday night; we could see them through our window, coming from the direction of the Stratosphere.We regretted having to leave on Monday morning BUT even upon our departure everyone we encountered was as gracious as when we checked in. The gentleman that retrieved our bags from our room was kind enough to unload our bags into our car in the Valet area and your Valet Attendant was also very pleasant. Please pass this along to your staff and their Superiors; everyone enjoys a well-deserved pat on the back, sincere praise, thanks, or a compliment. Well, we have decided that five days is just not enough to really enjoy Vegas, so we will just have to come back. Thank you, again Diane.

BJ Dealers are shysters.. they will try to underpay you. they will count out your chips wrong. belive me i spent a week and half downtown and that place must train their dealers. I understand they are in financial troubles so maybe thats it.. they get my thumbs down : (

Clean, cheap rooms

The rooms are clean...But the walls & door is very thin. Could hear people talking inside their room from the hallway...I didn't like that at all. But for a cheap, clean room...This is the place to stay.

Top Local Tips for Las Vegas

The Deuce If you are just visiting downtown and the strip the deuce is an excellent form of transportation, if you are not in a hurry, does make a lot of stops but well worth it for the view and the ride. Only $5 for an all day pass off and on as many times as you want for 5 bucks. you will need this for the strip it is very long. Longest it took us back and forth was 30 minutes one way. This was not a problem for us, we times our trips according to this, there was only one time it took 45 minutes because bus was packed and a lot of people off and on at stops, but I would recommend the deuce for sure.

Riding the Deuce and other city buses The "Deuce" is a double-decker bus that runs from downtown Las Vegas to all the major casions on the Strip. For a $2 one-way ride, you can ride in relative comfort if there is an open seat (the lower level fills up first). Get a $5 all-day ticket so you can save your legs if you plan to visit a lot of the big places on Las Vegas Boulevard. If a bus is crowded, you may want to wait for the next one (they run frequently). Service isn't fast, but it's a cheap alternative to taxi service. The absolute cheapest ride from McCarran airport to downtown is the #109 Northbound Maryland Parkway bus. It's $1.25 one-way for a 45-minute ride through neighborhoods far from the Strip, but the airport shuttles take nearly just as long. Some of the neighborhoods look like they were featured in TV's "Cops" and you may encounter smells unique to urban bus travel, but hey, you can put up with it to save $6, right?
