My Husband and I stayed at Alexis Park Resort for our 5th Anniversary. It was wonderful. The staff were very courteous, and welcomed us very warmly. They made us feel like we were at home. They had remembered that it was our anniversary from when my husband told the reservations agent. That made everything special. The rooms were wonderful, very cozy, clean, and neat. We didn't watch much TV, but it was very nice accomodations. There was a jacuzzi in our unit, and for a great price as well. I very strongly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to be away from the strip at night, but close enough to the action that they can walk to play.

I stayed @ Alexis Park w/ my wife and son.
I have to say this hotel was everything and more, the staff was amazing! Even when we called to make our reservations they seemed happy to work there. I WILL be returning to this hotel when we return to las vegas.

Can't beat the service, the rooms and the atmosphere. Everything here is "Top Notch". My company is very particular where it reserves rooms for its executives. This is the ONLY place in Las Vegas where our executives stay. Very close to the Strip, but away from it; convenient to everything; best ammenities; wonderful atmosphere; excellent service in every department; moderately priced. A "MUST STAY" for every business and vacation traveler!

I have stayed here 2 times and I felt it was pretty nice, I stayed for 2 days with my wife and then came back for new years, they were renovating the hotel lobby and some of the grounds but the room was nice and clean and I plan to stay there again this year, we walked from the strip in about 15 minutes on new years eve (no taxis) lots of parking, real quiet.

Horrible hotel!

This is an absolutely horrible hotel. It is completely misrepresented on the Web, and the reality is just awful. The grounds are dirty and unsafe; the rooms are small, shabby, uncomfortable, and unclean. They are very far from the strip (much more than 1 mile), and there is no shuttle as they claim there is. Of the three pools that they are referring to: one was close and the other two were horribly dirty. The rooms were extremely small, dark, smelly, had dirty carpet and walls, old, broken-up, dirty furniture, and TV that wouldn't work. My husband and son were absolutely depressed when they saw it, so I ended up canceling the reservation on the spot and rebooking another hotel on the strip for the next day, which ended up costing me three times as much. It ruined my 10-year wedding anniversary, and I am still having enormous difficulties getting refund for the unused nights. Stay away from this place. I never saw anything more horrible in my life.

No hassles and spacious!

I don't know what happened with all the other people who stayed her but this is one of the better places I've stayed in Vegas. I'd stay here again anytime. Don't expect much luxury--it's more like a one-bedroom apartment. They are all suites, and are spacious, the beds are comfy, and the lobby area is enormous! It's right over by the Hard Rock and Ellis Island. I liked that it didn't have a smoky casino and that it wasn't right on the strip. Some of the fixtures are a little cheap, and the shower head must be good for a four-foot tall person, but that's about it for the downside.. I guess if you just plan on staying in your room and ordering room service, this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a convenient, quiet place with nice large units, it's perfect! Tip: try to get an upstairs unit if you plan on sleeping in. It's popular with families so there are lots of slamming minivan doors and arguing siblings in the morning.

Read all of the negative reviews. Was expecting to be disappointed, but was impressed upon arrival at the Alexis. Rooms of the $69 suite were very large and neat. TV and air conditioner in each room - small fridge was a great benefit. Grounds and pools very clean and well kept. The only somewhat bad thing I can say is that the air condition had a slightly moldy smell. I needed a band-aid from all the walking we did.
Gift shop was closed (out to lunch) but the front desk was quick to send Security to our room with a handful of band-aids free of charge.
Shuttle service to the strip was just across the street (make sure you check service schedule at Hard Rock for changes). If you want or expect the Aladin, Mirage or Bellagio stay there, otherwise your stay at the Alexis should be pleasurable. We'll definitely stay there again and recommend it (if you're not looking for slots in the lobby). Nice experience.

We were sorely disappointed with our stay here. The first room we went to had no working lights. Second was fine until food was brought in, then the ants came. They did come and spray, but the spray was too overpowering and had to move to another room. Third room the toliet leaked when flushed. Mind you this was all on the first night of our stay. We finally got into the fourth room and in the morning when we attempted to take a shower the faucet fixture fell out of the wall.
Needless to say, we were going to move to another hotel. Only then did they offer a room upgrade or any kind of compensation. We didn't want either. We quickly called around and moved to the Amerisuites and enjoyed the rest of our time in Las Vegas.

A Little Above Average

Strengths - Close to airport. Nice clean pool. Towels provided on pool chairs. Decent gym. Decent friendly staff. Air conditioning unit monitored very well.Weakness' - No fan in the bathroom for ventilation.
Sloppy, food trays left in corridor for one full day and night.
Concierege does not go out of way to help. I had to call her off her computer before she finally came out. No coffee pot in room. No access to one of the pools on Sunday afternoon/evening because Las Vegas models posed in the pool.

Somewhat disappointing

Had to change rooms - A/C unit was making such a racket that no one could sleep. When maintenance finally came, they said they couldn't fix it because the A/C units are old....as well as the rest of the hotel.
Doors don't shut properly (some are warped from age), simple things such as lamps having burnt out bulbs (no one ever came by to replace them although we requested it), found hair in food (room service).
Fortunately they didn't charge us for that plate. Not cracked up what it should be, you'd be better off in a budget motel. Old place, should be torn down.

Loved the Alexis

My sister and I did extensive research and ended up booking at Alexis Park. We wanted a suite, OFF the strip, a pool and a great rate. We stayed a full week in June of 2001 and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. Did not eat in the cafe but did use the pool and found it to be fine. Our suite was large, the rate was excellent, the limited contact with the staff we had was fine and the location was great. Cleanliness level seemed to be fine; I have no memory of any problem. Believe me, we would have called if there had been an issue. Very quiet, not a lot of people around. I would much rather stay there than have to deal with the hordes on the Strip. I would hate to have to walk through a lobby in my robe on the way to a pool. Ours was just out the door. Would definately go back. A short drive to shopping.

What a hole

The reason I stayed was for a conference held at this hotel. If I knew better before I would have booked something on the strip. My reservation was not the room I received, the room had peeling paint in the shower, the bathtub was filthy, the tv remote didn't work, the refrigerator didn't work, and it was infested with moths. (We killed an average of 6 everyday in our room, even climbed out of the pay phones.).We asked to change our room, which they did, but said that a king or non-smoking room if requested is not guaranteed upon arrival by the hotel.The next room was nice, but the towel racks weren't on the walls, the brackets were, but the racks weren't. I overheard our cleaning person on the phone saying she had been asking for this a week now.I asked the front desk, they wouldn't cash a traveler's check. We even had trouble getting change for a $20.Nobody seemed to want to help, their response were always short and quick.I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Nice and cheap

I found the Alexis Park to be what I expected. The room was clean, the hotel was cheap and I had no problems with it whatsoever. Right across the street from the Hard Rock was nice, they have a free shuttle to different parts of the strip.I'd stay here again.

Stayed in Alexis Park for one Sat night, April 19. The room was neat and clean. Both bed sheet and bath towels were also very clean. There were two TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Had a good night sleep, which was all I needed. And did I mention the room was only $55 on Sat?

Top Local Tips for Las Vegas

Enjoying the bus system You can get almost anywhere in Vegas on the bus. It only costs $5 for a 24-hour pass. However, you may want to choose your timing and locations well. I lived in NO, LA in the 90's and was harrased less often on the street by people who were angry and a bit insane. Waiting a half hour for a bus at 2 in the morning may not be your cup of tea, or . . . you may find some nice native who got off work late and gives you great tips about what to see, you never know. I also don't recommend walking at night from the Stratosphere to Circus Circus. And, was warned that the place behind the Stratosphere was quite dangerous.

Get a car Taxis in Vegas are too expensive. For a 1 mile trip you are going to pay at least 7 or 8 dollars. Rental cars are cheaper here than most other vacation destinations. It is fairly easy to drive in Vegas. Just don't be in to big of a hurry, the strip is crowded at night.

Hard Rock Cafe Unless you are young, or like rock history stuff, this is an overpriced eatery, and the gift shop is expensive. They had some nice stuff, like guitars from different stars, some personal letters, and clothing from stars and so on, but it was overrated, IMO.
