Great Hotel!!! Highly recommendable

from A TripAdvisor Member
This staff is one of the Best and NICEST people i have come across. I'm a Platinum Member and travel about over 200 nights a year and these guys went above and beyond to make my family feel like home. They brought up their freshly baked cookies to our rooms although it had been 2hrs later from when they closed it down. Beds were not as great as i hoped but the service was by far GREAT that it made us overlook this issue. There's only one way to find out if what i say is true is to BOOK AT THIS LOCATION!

Way too much money for what you receive

Probably would have given this a three star, but they ran out of food, twice... When I booked, they said that there was happy hour with food 5pm-7pm, followed by cookies and milk 7pm-9pm, and continental breakfast in am. We skipped the happy hour, but shortly after 8:00, when we got out of the pool, all cookies were gone and the desk clerk just shrugged his shoulders and said there wouldn't be any more. Also, missing their "famous" cinnamon rolls in am. (again, a shrug of the shoulders). We stayed at 2 or 3 Holiday Inn Express hotels on our 15 day trip and none had the well known rolls. Maybe a chain wide problem so don't count on them!

The room was clean, except for a small but on the back of a pillow when we turned down the bed (yuck!). Cordial but timid desk clerk. Pool was outside, but heated. Clean (not murky) but had typical floating leaves, etc. Standard size room (didn't seem small to me), sink was in bathroom, which can make for a slow morning with a family. Breakfast was fine (except see above): oatmeal, bagels, cereal, muffins, biscuits and gravy, green apples, waffles (already made you toast). 2 Queen beds, thick towns. Stingy with cups, only 2 in the room for family of 4. Quiet. Everything was fine and good, except they made it sound wonderful on the phone, accentuating the happy hour, cookies and milk, and even boasted about their famous cinnamon rolls. So don't look forward to them!

will not stay here again

$104 for a single bedroom is too much for this place and location. I have stayed in luxury suites on the strip for just $65... I just don't think the room I stayed in "231" is worth $104 dollars a night during a normal week day.

t think I will stay here again

When I go to Vegas I usually stay at a hotel on the strip. But since I was only staying one night and was on the strip earlier in the trip I decided to stay in Henderson. Well I won't be doing that again... at least not at this hotel. When we first got to our room the door was unlocked as well as ajar. This didn't give me warm fuzzies... but I looked past it. It wasn't until the heater started to smell like burning plastic that I took my rosy glasses off. I went to the front desk and told them about my findings. The gentleman at the front desk was hesitant to change my room. In fact I had to insist that he change my room before he actually did it. When I got into my new room things were a lot better. Well that was until I went to bed that night. When I pulled back the comforter I noticed that the sheets were dirty. Once again I went to the front desk to complain about the soiled sheets. The girl at the front desk went and changed our bed sheets. It wasn't until I checked out of the hotel that I discovered that they also discounted that night's stay.

My stay wasn't that great of an experience. Although I like the fact that they compensated me for the dirty sheets without my having to ask for the compensation. Even with that said I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Cute suite!

from chazcrew
Clean, comfortable beds, nice view, quiet, and best of all, plenty of room for our family. We had a Kids Suite, which had two queens and a tv in one room, and bunkbeds, tv, and kitchenette in the next room, divided by a bead curtain. Roomy and cute. The kids' part was done in a jungle theme. The continental breakfast was good, just a step up from regular cont. breakfasts, but nothing cooked to order. Kids loved the suite. Definitely stay here again!

Great Place in a Great Location

from Gil1018
Stayed here a couple of weeks ago for one night. Got in about 3 AM from FL. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good for a continental type. Cinnamon rolls were delicious. Staff very helpful and polite. Right next to Sunset Station casino if you can't wait until the Strip to lose your money.

Great room; great service

Comfortable, clean room; great breakfast with free USA TODAY; warm, friendly service with fresh baked cookies and milk each night; convenient to the Strip and shopping but not too hectic; front desk personnel were first rate!

One of the best HI-Express Hotels ever!

from Rusttribe
This might be the best Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed in. But, my review might be slightly biased. Upon check-in I was told that I was named "Guest of the Day". Pretty cool, huh? This means I got upgraded to a very nicely appointed suite. I also got a free goodie bag that included a free coffee mug.

This hotel has some great extras. There is a free nightly reception that includes wine and food. There is also a free breakfast in the morning. The rooms are very comfortable, and they even give you a choice of three different types of pillows. If any of you have seen the new HI-Express commericals on TV about their new shower heads, they are completly true. These shower heads rock. Perfect pressure and multiple settings.

If you're traveling to Vegas and are looking for a great value off the strip, you have to consider this hotel!

re not planning on sleeping there...

from A TripAdvisor Member
Yes, Sir. A fine hotel, indeed. That is, if you're just using it to lock up your baggage while you pull an all-nighter on the strip. Unfortunately, for my little family, who needed somewhere close to the airport for a 7am flight after a hard week of touring the Grand Circle in October, not the choice i'd make again.
Everything seemed fine on check-in, the staff being courteous and helpful, and the location being surrounded by every amenity you could want. The room was adequate, despite being within two paces of the hotel's main elevator, and one pace from the loud door on the vending/ice area for the floor. We called the front desk for a wake-up call for 5AM, then thought better and changed it to 4:30 to make sure we made it on time. We slipped off to sleep, hoping to regain some strength for the early flight. That's where the trouble began.
We kept the A/C runing at a comfortable setting to help drown out the noise outside the door, but it quit sometime during the night. The staff blew past our 4:30 wake-up call, but that's O.K., because I was awake from 3AM on due to the banging noise eminating from some nearby location--every 45 seconds. Sweating now, and terribly, terribly awake, I resolved to find the source of the noise that sounded like someone banging on a pipe with a sledgehammer on the floor below. However, I ran out of time and we went to pack up and check out.
The desk clerk seemed mildly interested in the fact that they had missed the wake-up call, and that the A/C had stopped, and even offered the information that the banging sound "MUST be the boiler," and "Wow, sorry about all that,". Hmm. Indeed. Didn't experience the Breakfast, so I can't comment. My advice? Stay at the Hampton Inn next door, the one we stared at longingly as we drove past on our way out. Boiler, indeed. Is Vegas truly the city that never sleeps? Book here and find out.......

Great hotel - stayed in October, 2003.

Our room was extremely nice. The personnel at the front were very helpful, with directions as well as information (this was our first trip to the area). Their breakfast was the best we've had at any of the Holiday Inn Express Hotels we've stayed in. It's a great location for going to attractions including Hoover Dam and Death Valley. You're close enough to drive to the strip in Vegas, and the airport is easily accessible from here.

Stay here, price is great for what you get and where you are The cost of the Holiday Inn in Henderson includes Internet, coffee pot, fridge, microwave. This is nice and quiet and away from the Strip, but not too far away.
