We were just passing through when it became to late to travel any farther and unfortunately this was the only place in North Platte that had a room available. The owner was nice enough, but the room was disgusting. The bed and carpets didn't look too bad, but the place smelled and the toilet and shower/tub were disgusting. There was no way I was stepping in that shower. We slept quickly and left as early as we could the next morning without using the "facilities." Carpets in the hallways were grossly disgusting.

The room looked like CSI had been filmed there. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Just a gross place to stay. I'm sure if our room looked like that they all did.

Great front desk help, rooms are pretty nice breakfast was OK decent prices very flexible. The bar and restaurant inside had good food and had a nice cozy feeling.

We travel to Estes Park Colorado every year and stop in North Platte to stay. This year we stayed at the Royal Colonial Inn, twice. Once on our way to Colorado and once on the way back. Each visit we had 2 rooms. When we got home we found that they had charged our credit card for an extra night stay. When I called on it, the woman told me it was a computer error and would have to take it up with my credit card company. The credit card company will not take action because I don't have a receipt and copy of the hotel's cancellation policy. They told me I had to deal direct with the Hotel. This was a horrible experience and we'll never stay here again.
