Convenient location if visiting Yellowstone National Park This town is just outside of the West entrance of the Yellowstone National park. Has few decent hotels/motels, restaurants, gas stations, super-markets and souverier shops which takes care of all your vacation needs. The souvernier shops though are a bit disappointing, the inventory of the things they carry are not really good , neither in quality nor looks. Not to mention they are not even original to Yellowstone or the state of Montana. But at the same time they are pricey. This was a bit of a surprise considering Yellowstone is such a wonderful place and one of the bigget national parks and have so many visitors every year who would like to carry a memento. Other than that, this town is a very practical choice if you are visiting Yellowstone for a longer period of time (4-7 days).

Entrance to Yellowstone Park West Yellowstone is one of, if not THE, main entrance to the park. West Yellowstone, Montana is an excellent town to stay in because of its close proximity to this entrance. The west entrance is a good starting point each day. It's location allows you to see the main attractions without having to drive too far.
