Top Local Tips for Big Sky

Not what is used to be If you stay here have low expectations and you won't be let down.....We had to call 3 times to have toilet paper brought to our room on the 2nd day. Had to call and have bathroom floor mopped upon checkin. I cleaned bathroom countertop myself...was full of makeup...gross! Shower drain was almost completely clogged.....I left notes for staff to pour down draino...they never did, or if so, it was so bad it needed to be snaked. Had to leave notes to have toilet cleaned and hot tub cleaned.. I thought when the "service room please" was left on door knob that meant they would clean the room? Not so...had to ask for everything to be done. Room service could not get 2 toasted bagels right....they arrived untoasted with only 1 of 2 juices....after 30 min. They arrived.....but with no silverware or napkins. How do you spread cream cheese on a bagel without a knife???? We used a spoon handle....fun huh? This hotel must be under new management. They used to do turndown service too.

Lone Mountain Ranch Sleigh Ride Dinner This is a magical experience. The sleighs seat about 14 people apeice. There were three sleighs in all, and the 6 belgian horses are sturdy and beautiful. On our night the sky was cloudy, but on a clear night, I hear the stars fill the sky. The cabin seats about 40- 50 people and the food is delicious: home made rolls, hearty soup, perfect prime rib with horseradish to wipe out your memory and cheesecake for dessert. There is a cowboy who sings songs and reads poetry, and you must like that sort of thing, because they politely and rightly request your full attention, and you may be invited to sing along. Cynics do not belong here! There is a heated out house if you need it. The staff was wonderful, warm, friendly and courteous. The cook is not to be messed with, but he cooks like you wish your mom cooked!

Head down the mountain... Great food can be found down the mountain (9 miles) at much better prices. Try out the Corral Bar and Steakhouse...best steaks around!
