Historical Traveller Reviews of Omni Majestic Hotel

Great stay at the Omni Majestic

from appellatereview
My wife booked us at the Omni Majestic for a convention she attended June 21-25. The hotel is well-located in downtown St. Louis, and is only a short walk from the light-rail station and the convention center. It’s a bit longer walk to the Arch or to New Busch Stadium but not unpleasant.

The hotel is in an older building, but it has been very nicely renovated. Our room was quite large and very well appointed. Most of my complaints are minor: The bathroom was a bit cramped; the TV is placed at an awkward angle for watching from the bed; and the restaurant/bar in the lobby was undergoing renovations and lacking air-conditioning.

With regard to the latter, we only ate at the restaurant once (for breakfast – which, unlike many hotel buffets, was not overpriced), and the hotel notified all the guests that it was waiving the room-service fees due because of the renovations. These minor issues are more than made up for by how great the staff is. Everyone, the concierge, the valet parking attendants, the housekeeping staff and the restaurant staff, was super-friendly and helpful. All in all, I would highly recommend the Omni Majestic St. Louis.

Very cordial staff who greeted us with respect

from ShakeYourBon-Bon
Very cordial staff who greeted us with respect and even the housekeeping staff was very generous. Lobby was very nice however the hotel itself is a bit old. Concierge was very attentive to our needs and even suggested a fantastic Sushi place that was walking distance. Safe secure area with no parking, only valet. Pet friendly and they even gave directions to a park close by to walk our pet. We left this hotel very satisfied.

t forget your clothes there or you will miss them!

from Yo2008
I forgot to pack a skirt and a shirt and there is no way to recuperate them. According with the hotel, they have not seen any of these clothing items, but there is not other way, my missing clothing was in the hotel room. When I call them to communicate this fact, they told me to call me back, but they did not. I had to call them again, and two days later I received a calling saying that they did not find anything, but they did not even ask me to describe the items!

t say enough

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed here for a week on business and can't say enough about this place. They bent over backwards to take care of myself and my colleagues. We had one of our cars broken into and they fixed it and brought up free food during our entire stay as an apology. The restauraunt is also pretty good for hotel food.

Wonderful experience!

from jaimemu78
We had our wedding block at the Omni May 19-20. They did a fabulous job of accommodating all our guests as well as catering to the bridal party as we got ready. They treated us like royalty and made my wedding day very stress-free. The rooms are clean and cozy. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and polite. Breakfast the next morning was delicious! For a downtown hotel, it's a nice change from the large, impersonal hotels. The staff at the Omni (from the GM who stopped in to check on us as we got ready for the wedding) to the restaurant staff; everyone far exceeded my expectations. I would definately not hesitate to hold a function at the Omni or just stay there for a night or two and really enjoy Downtown St. Louis.

Much better than most reviews

from A TripAdvisor Member
Prior to visiting the Omni Majestic we read several reviews. Most of which stated several problems. The first and foremost was the bathroom being too small. Yes, the bathroom is small, however, it is big enough for one or two people to be in there.

Secondly, was the check in desk. Many people complained that it was just a desk in the lobby. They were upset there was no check in counter. First of all, this is an older hotel and also an upper class hotel. At the time this hotel was built, there was no need for a check in counter. The desk was just that. It was a beautiful desk with very nice chairs.

There was a bit of peeling of wallpaper in the room but it was not noticable unless you looked for it. The bedding was beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The hotel bar/restaurant was excellent. The food was very good and not too expensive. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. They checked my husband and I in quickly and were very helpful with any questions we had during our stay.

Overall, I would stay there again in a heartbeat and recomend it to everyone.

Just Okay

from mitchmurr
My room was small, so check what you may get. Bathroom was small but amenities were good quality. I liked the minimalistic lobby, so to each his own. Room service doesn't start until 4PM and breakfast buffet was only so-so. Walls are somewhat thin as I could hear people around me.

Great Staff

from HBBreeze
If you enjoy charm, good service and better than average accomodations then this is a good choice in hotels. The room is cozy and the bed is big and very comfortable, which makes up for the small bathroom. I got a great package deal on Hotwire for about $103 per day which included a compact rental car. Add $18 per day for parking and I still got a great deal.
The room is clean, all the towels and amenities you could ask for. The duvet could use some spot cleaning, but nothing too disheartening. Everything worked as it should, and as titled, the staff was always available to assist no matter what hour I required.
The Arch, The "New" Busch and the Dome are all located downtown.
Overall, I would stay again if offered at the same price, but might try the Marriot or Westin if I had to pay $150-$200 from what I was told while there.

A Little Sub Par for Omni

from Banana8Peter
This is a hard review to write for me because I am a very loyal Omni guest; however this was my first experience with the Omni in St. Louis. All in all I would say the experience is sub par for the Omni brand but not so much that I would discourage from staying here. Personally I might look around in St. Louis. The front lobby is very disappointing with the front desk just that, a desk. The hotel is dated and it shows. Our two bed room was very large, huge closet, but small bathroom. I was disappointed in the front desk staff, with one individual even wearing blue jeans as he acted like the manager. There was a problem getting our hotel room keys as well. We were given keys to a room that was already occupied. The situation could have turned quite bad, but the staff made sufficient attempts to remedy the problem.

Very nice hotel

from bigdave466
Omni Majestic was a very nice hotel, not 5 stars, but still very nice. Room was big. Bathroom was small. Bed was comfortable. Bar/restaraunt was nice (try the chicken sandwich with apple slice, very good).

Don't take a cab from Lambert Airport. Take the metro link. Get off at 8th and Pine then walk west about 2 blocks. We did it with luggage, not bad at all, and only $1.5 each way per person.

Good location for Cardinal games, about a 10-15 min walk to the statium.

AC was out during our stay in Sept. Needless to say, it was hot. Only complaint was that they didn't knock some $ off our stay, but I booked on Hotwire and only paid $65 as it was, so can't really complain.

Top Local Tips for St. Louis

Cardinals and Rams Easy walk to both Busch Stadium and the Edward Jones Dome. Also not a bad walk to the Arch.

Dine on the Hill Pick one of the many delicious Italian restaurants too eat at. There are so many different styles of Italian food there is really something for everyone .The only drawback is the difficult parking on the weekend.

If you have young children Our 22 month son loved the magic house which is a children's museum, he also enjoyed the children's zoo at the saint Louis zoo .
