worth every penny!!!!

from angfromok
Wonderful service, very pleasant and accomodating staff. This hotel had a wonderful view of the arch & just across the street! Very convenient to many attractions. The only problem we had was the parking but from what I've heard, it's this way at every downtown hotel that close to the arch. We stayed 4 nights & had no problem finding parking in their garage except on 1 night. The staff set us up with parking a 1/4 block or so away so it was really no inconvenince. Also, with it being Memorial Day weekend and the Cardinals playing @ home it was understandable. The two restaurants right there in the hotel definietly are convenient too. Max & Erma's has great tortilla soup. The breakfast buffet, manager's receptions (3 drinks per adult) with relaxing live piano music, microwave w/popcorn & the fridge w/sodas are nice touches too! Not to mention the store downstairs with internet access & extras you may want to purchase. We also found it to be very clean and tidy. Everyone from the front desk to the lifeguard at the pool to the wait staff @ the breakfast to the reception were all so accommodating & friendly. Superb!!!!

Good Cardinal Location-Poor Service

from A TripAdvisor Member
Good Location next to Busch Stadium, but service was poor and hotel was dirty. Checked in to Non-Smoking room that smelled like Smoke. Son has Asthma, and were promised another room.... that one had pet odors or "something". Engineering came up and sprayed room with Lysol. Told last suite "available". Should have checked out.

Fire Alarm went off at Midnight last night we were there, had to get kids out of bed and down to street on cold night... turned out to be Wedding reception guests smoking by heated parking garage elevators. Another guest says it happens all the time when it's cold outside.

Next morning asked if we could leave our car in Parking garage till 2 pm after visiting arch...was told NO WAY by Front Desk Clerk, MGR and Gen Mgr, Even after all the issues....will pass on this place from now on.

Great location for Arch and Busch Stadium...but we were not treated well at oudated hotel. Free Breakfast was sub-par too.

Good but not great.

Location is terrific, only one block from Busch Stadium, downtown restaurants. Complimentary hot breakfast is tasty and sufficient for any sized appetite. Lobby is attractive and staff is helpful and polite. Beds, however, are only fair, rooms are clean but small, and the hotel had elevator problems when we were there. Had to go through parking garage to get to our room. The hotel is reasonably priced and represents solid value.

We liked this hotel. It is a great family spot.

Helpful hint: Go to breakfast Early. It gets so crowded after 8:00am

Wonderful hotel--great value!

I stayed at this hotel for a week in November 2004. This has to be one of the best hotel experiences ever. I had a nice, large room, free high speed internet access, free long distance calls (1 hour/day), free breakfast, and cocktails everyday from 5-7 pm. My hotel room overlooked the arches.
I didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked nice. The hotel had a coin laundry which I found very useful.

Wonderful wedding night

from C3M3andDogs
My husband and I spent our wedding night here. We came in still wearing gown and tux from the receptoin, and the wonderful woman behind the desk immediately changed our room to overlook the Arch. Room was really nice, we were there in the off season, so no worries with parking (I know a previous reviewer mentioned that) Fabulous place, nice people, I recommend it.

Wonderful Accomodations, Across the street from the Arch

from travelinpeace
This is the top of the line for Drury Hotels. The staff, breakfast buffet, and Manager's Reception are nice features. One concern might be the cost of parking. Additionally, the St. Louis MetroLink is several blocks away. Traveling by the MetroLink is probably not an option at night or in the winter due to the distance. The St. Louis Airport or Union Station Drury Inns are a much better choice if you want to utilize the MetroLink (St. Louis Train). The train travels right to the airport to Union Station and Downtown. The cost is resonable and it is very safe.

great 2 day family getaway

date of stay was 10/20/04-10/22/04. I must first say that I had another hotel reserved for these dates and changed at the last minute due to other reviews. We stayed here to visit downtown and forgot about the playoff games at busch stadium. But We (myself, wife and 8 and 10 year old boys) had a great time, service was great, it was nice having hotel parking garage. The pool was perfect size with the hottubs. resturaunts close within walking distance, arch waterfront walking distance, and the free breakfast and free snacks/drinks was a nice touch. Rooms were clean, security was great. I must say that we are planning our next trip back to see more of st. louis.

We stayed here 6-29-4. No complaints at all- clean, well-equipped rooms, GREAT breakfast, right next to the Arch. Decent price compared to others in the vicinity. Our first time at a Drury & it will not be the last.

Drury Plaza was Awesome

from moms/kidsvaca
After alot of research we planned a five day trip to St.Louis (Sun-Thurs) The Drury Plaza offered all we could ask for! We woke up to a free hot breakfast every morning in a very nice dining area and every evening had drinks and snacks in the same area FREE. Our room was beautiful and the hotel staff could not have been nicer. I love the directions printed step-by-step for every place we went to visit. The location is a excellent and the Drury Plaza is the most secure hotel I think I have ever stayed in.

Top Local Tips for St. Louis

St Louis Zoo Don't miss this FREE attraction. It has a beautiful setting in Forest Park which is the largest public city park in the U.S. Lots to do and see!!

Things to do: Visit City Museum, an incredibly fun place for both kids and adults.

great food Ate at LaRusso's (an italian place in The Hill) Zagats' #1 resturant in St. Louis 2005. Wonderful food, Amazing service - owner on site, easy to get too. Steak joint - Tuckers - tucked in a lil neighborhood area, low key ambience, unbeatable prices with to die for food.
