Our suite was so much bigger and nicer than we expected. Everything about this hotel was wonderful: the service, the view, the comfort! Our group of 30, without asking, received a $600 dining room for FREE and we could order from the medium priced menu! We were told it was because no one had booked it for that night and they would set it all up for us! It was like we had our own private CASTLE dining room! Lovely! If you're used to Bellagio in Las Vegas or the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan, you might wish for real flowers and a real tree, BUT everything else if FIRST CLASS! I'd go here again!

Enjoyed our stay. The furnishings were very nice and the decor was cozy and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the movie theater and the view! Will definitely return.

Awesome views

My wife and I visited Branson and found Chateau on the Lake on the internet. WOW, who would have known that such an incredible place existed in Branson, MO. It was like a castle sitting on the top of a mountain as we drove up it's well manecured drive.

The suite was emmaculate and the food devine. We especially loved the sweet shop and the wonderful lattees.

Although a bit chilly, we hiked the nature trail there on Chateau grounds and the Christmas decorations were simply gorgious. We will definately be back.

Great for Water Lovers

While the Chateau is just a jazzed up Embassy Suites, it has a great location. If you don't plan on going on the lake, this may not be a good deal for you. It's far away from all the other stuff in Branson (although Branson is beginning to encroach). The Marina is AWESOME! Great guys and gals down there. Great boats, always one available. However, if the water is too choppy they will not let you have a free paddle boat. But everything is top-notch down there.
Do not expect a good coffee drink. The ladies at the sweet shop are great, but they are not baristas. The mochas and lattes end up flat. Have one if you must, but be warned they are not high Italian-style espresso drinks. The restaurants are nice. Everything is expensive. And the hotel is crowded. Stick to the lake.

Upscale for Branson

We just returned from a four night stay at the Chateau. This place is probably the nicest hotel in Branson with exception of Big Cedar but it is not the Ritz. Our shower had a clump of long red hair stuck to the side of the tile. Literally it looked like someone had been scalped. It took two calls to housekeeping to have our shower cleaned. The first time the maid didn't see the hair I described???? Anyway the rest of the hotel was clean. The hotel itself is reminiscent of an Embassy Suites inside. The service staff were all very pleasant but could use some more training. Dinner at the "fine dining" restaurant left us thinking we had been waited on by someone from Applebee's. The food was just average as well. The pool area is not large by most resort standards and no children’s pool is available. We stayed at the Chateau for business and it seems that many conferences are held there. With that said Branson is not my idea of a good vacation spot. I prefer gourmet dining options and do not have any desire to attend the shows. Personally for the price of the Chateau I prefer Big Cedar any day. Finally if you are looking to vacation in Branson you are probably not a high maintenance person so save your money and try the Marriott Vacation Club, Fairfield or something comparable (it is what I would do).

Not real classy customer service

I visited the spa at the Chateau on the Lake (one of the only spas in Branson) and while the actual services were standard for spas in resort type hotels~the customer service was the worst in any spa I have ever encountered. The first thing you are asked to do when you enter the spa is hand over your credit card at which time they kindly add a twenty percent tip. Now I don't know about anyone else but I am not too inspired to relax (as one hopes to do when puchasing an expensive spa trip) when I am already a little miffed that someone is making me pay a tip on a service I have not even received yet. I generally leave more than a 20 percent tip (and never less than 15 percent for the worst service) if the service is very good~but I like to decide how much the tip is for~isn't the point of a tip to be a token of appreciation for good service? After having my pre-service tip taken from me, I figured then that I would be led into the changing room and shown the fluffy robes (which is usually the first thing done at a spa) but Nooooo....I was taken directly to the facial room and my facial was began with me still in my street clothes....in other words...if you want a true relaxing spa experience...go elsewhere.

My wife and I just stayed at Chateau and let me tell you, it was great! This place is wonderful. The building itself is amazing, with a giant tree and running waterfall right in the main lobby. This isn't the typical hotel/resort that you'll find in the midwest, but more like the ones you might find in Mexico or a secret island in the south pacific. Very nice. The service was outstanding. The lake clean and beautiful. If you enjoy being on the water, rent a boat or waverunner, lots of fun. Take full advantage of the paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes they offer...why not, their free! The only downfall I found was the cost of food. Very pricey, but the serving sizes will fill you up. We'll be going again next year, but with family. Excellent Resort.

Worth the money

What a beautiful resort. Service was top notch. The pools were very nice, indoor pool open late for adults only. Very nice rooms. Extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was great. Special recognition to Bink Brown for outstanding service. Keep up the good work :)

The Chateau is great. The hotel is magnificent in style and quality. The staff can't do enough to make your stay wonderful. Everyone is more than accomadating to your every need. Activities are well planned for the occasion of the month. Children will love the pampering and activities planned for them. We hope to make this an annual event!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The rooms were beatuiful and reasonably priced. There was plenty to do for everyone of all ages. I can't wait to go back!

Loved the Chateau!

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson and we recommend it as a destination unto itself! Before I moved to Canada, I spent many vacations in Branson, MO. I stayed in numerous resorts, hotels and motels but they can not hold a candle to the Chateau.
The rooms are spacious and clean ... with all those little extra special touches. We felt pampered. We checked in for a two night stay without a reservation. They gave us a great off-season rate which saved us $110.00 USD per night!
The restaurant was wonderful. The pools, hottub and grounds were beautiful. We watched the sunset across the lake behind the mountains from the hot tub. Ohhh ... I want to go back!

If you can get a great deal on the room, this is the place to stay..and be sure to check on their site on the web for packages... like the suite for 107 a night...... its fun..lots to do. very attractive...but can get pricey.

Top Local Tips for Branson

See for yourself! Entertainment, museums (Visit the Titanic Museum) food, shopping, Theme parks (Silver dollar city and Shepherd of the Hills outdoor theatre, Branson Landing, outlet stores, all kinds of stuff! Also be sure to visit the Hard Luck Diner off the property on the "Strip" and enjoy a reasonable meal with singing servers!

Branson in General We're not from the midwest, and our trip to Branson was only b/c of a business meeting there. Although there are plenty of shows (and the two we saw were EXCELLENT: Acrobats of China and Six), the rest of the place is kind of cheesy. There are plenty of restaurants, but few UPSCALE ones. Most recreation seems to be based upon the lake, which means fishing and boating-related activities. One final warning: there are ALOT of smokers who visit!

Best Burgers in town For a place for the entire family to eat and not break the credit card is Danna's, located on Fall Creek Road toward Pointe Royale. A great place filled with locals & tourists. Great hamburgers and great BBQ. Both are so good you will find yourself going back the next day for the other. Try a fried roll, not found on any diet.
