Historical Traveller Reviews of Angel Inn Hotel

Honest and trustworthy

from texasbluebonnets
Our stay was during the off season, but still had almost full occupancy. It was quiet, and extremly clean. Personnel were polite and very helpful. The main reason for my review is that I shopped during Christmas season and left a package in the hotel room. When I arrived home I found it missing and called the hotel, sure that I would never see this very expensive gift again. It was found and mailed to me very quickly. I absolutely suggest this hotel as one of the finest.

Just OK

We stayed at the Angel Inn on July 15, 2006. I am just a liitle annoyed by our stay. Check in went smooth until we unpacked our bags and hiked to our room just to find they gave us a 2 queen room after I had payed extra to reserve a king. So we had to go back to the lobby to request our king room. The lady gave us a new room but didn't offer an apology. The room was clean. It was large. The bathroom could have been cleaned a little better. I didn't have a chance to use the pool. The hours on it are 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. They had promised eggs and ham or sausage on their cont. breakfast but had none. It had the normal donuts, cereal, milk, juice, etc. They did have gravy and biscuits. Overall I could say it was just an average hotel. I wouldn't pay 69.99 a night for it. I booked it for $50 on reservebranson[-]. When I had called the motel they wanted 69.99 so that was a good deal.

Cheap but not worth it

First encounter at desk, the employee seemed annoyed that we were checking in. Breakfast was ok. The bed was uncomfortable and the headboard broke. Hairdryer not working; had to go to front desk to get a replacement...quite the trek. Tour group was noisy at 11:30PM and bouncing at 6:30AM. Will not stay here, again.

Ok but not much extra

from A TripAdvisor Member
We just got back from 5 nights at this motel. It was pretty clean but not quite what I expected after visiting their web site. We had a King Bed room. They list the bed as being upgraded and it was a good firm mattress but wasn't anything extra. It hurt to sit in the recliner chair. It was in pretty bad shape. Everything else in the room was pretty good. The wireless internet worked very good. No setup or hassel getting online. The water pressure was good and the hot water was great when we were using it. The hot tub was a 4 person MAX size and the pool was very small and shallow. Both were indoor. Overall, not as good of a deal as you are led to believe by their write up on their home page but a pretty good place to stay if you like motels. Also, they don't tell you that it has exterior corridors. They call it a hotel, but I always thought a hotel had interior corridors.

Pretty good

This hotel is in a nice location, although I would have rather stayed directly on "the strip" so we could have walked to a lot of the shops and attractions. This hotel is off the strip on Green Mountain Parkway (I think that is the name of the road). The hotel was previously a Hampton Inn because the towels still say Hampton and the sign is obviously a painted over Hampton Inn sign. I did not go to the pool nor did I have the breakfast so I can't compliment on that. However the rooms were o.k. we had to queen beds that were not very comfy but the room was nice sized except for the tub and toliet, which was in a little room that was very, very small. This hotel has the cheapest soap I have ever seen in a hotel and also there is only 2 bars of it, one small bar and one slightly larger bar for the shower and 1 small bottle of shampoo. There were cob webs in the corner of the wall/ceiling in the shower area, but for the price $49.95 on a Friday and Saturday night it was just fine. I enjoyed my trip to Branson but I will probably never return, the reason why is Branson is just a smaller Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge Tennessee and I live about 4 hours away from that place and about 10 hours away from Branson. It is mostly just a place with lots of hotels, t-shirt shops, mini golf, bumper boats, shows. I wouldn't spend more than 2 days there without being bored to tears but then again I am a single 24 year old and Branson, like Gatlinburg is more for the family than single people looking for a party.

Liked our stay

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed on the Memorial holiday weekend for two nights and liked it. The guy at the front desk gave us driving tips to get around traffic to get to the Dick Clark theater. I really enjoyed the show and my husband loved the cars at the Dick Clark Theater. Our room was nicer and larger than our last motel here in Branson and we really were surprised by the breakfast. The pool size was ok, not a lap pool but big enough for us. We walked to the Panera Bread across the street and had good sandwiches and soup in a bread bowl. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and the new show.

ll be back

My husband and I found their website and booked the stay. It was exactly what they claimed it would be. We slept great and enjoyed the breakfast. They gave us tricks to going through Branson to go around the backed up traffic. We will go back there again in July.

Nothing but trouble

I have never had so many things go wrong at a hotel before. They claim the pool to be heated but it was so cold we could not get in. The hot tub had a film on it which when turned on turned into foam that got all over you. The outlet by the sink stopped working. The ironing board broke while we were ironing. We were put in the back building and when we arrived to our room we only had one towel available and were told no more were available for about an hour. Three hours later still had not received any towels and called to front desk and was told we had to come up and get them. Our TV remote did not work and was told by front desk we had to come up and get new batteries for the remote.
Still would not work and had to go back to the front to get a new remote. Was told when made reservations that there were vending machines for snacks and sodas, the only vending machines were soda machines and had to go to a gas station down the road for snacks. Then when I arrived home I discovered that they had put a hold on my account for the room amount even though I had paid with cash. The employees had no uniforms or nametags to distinguish them from other guests. When confronted with the problems the manager had a bad attitude toward me and told me that the company didn't feel I deserved any compensation for my unpleasant stay. I did not enjoy my stay at the Angel Inn because I had to keep driving back and forth to the front office. And then to descove that they caused problems to account by putting a hold on my account when I had paid with cash. Would not recommend staying at the Angel Inn.

Not your typical Hampton Inn

from AvardCurt
Small parking lots for three seperate buildings and there were three tour buses taking up one of the lots for several hours loading and unloading. Small noisy pook indoors. Room was ok, beds are hard though. Most Hampton Inns have interior hallways but this one is obviously a retread from another motel and not a Hampton Inn floor plan. Not a bad place to stay if you like walking up and down stairs a lot. No elevator on property that we could tell.

A little too hilly

from eold24
We stayed at this location on 8-7-2004.
The room was very nice and clean however there are 3 seperate buildings on a hillside making it difficult to walk between. The pool which was small was located in the first building so we had to go down a level then up a level to reach it.The hot tub was very small too.Since we are not as young as we used to be we checked out on Sunday and went to another inn.

Top Local Tips for Branson

Stay off the strip if the strip is busy get off and find your way on the back roads. we got lost a couple of times, but at least we were moving.

Use the backroads This hotel is located right on Green Mountain Drive so definitely use it to avoid traffic on 76. Green Mountain Drive goes from Wal-Mart all the way to Celebration City, with cutoffs along the way (like Gretna).

Back roads Do not drive on the 76 strip if you do not have to. We took the yellow and red routes and the traffic was much easier to deal with. We like tge Angel Inn because they are just off the strip with 4 back roads closeby to take around the Branson Traffic.
