Loved The Beau Rivage!

The "only" place to stay in Biloxi! It has it all! we stayed 3 days and never left the hotel. The employees can't do enough for you. The rooms are gorgeous and the bathrooms are huge with a tub & a shower. The food is great, with a huge selection to choose from. This was our 2nd time there and we will definiltely go back!

We loved our stay here for a weekend in the summer of 2003. The only reason I can't give it five stars is that the bedding type is not reserved at booking type. We had to settle for two double beds (very romantic!), and the check-in process took awhile. Otherwise, it was great. I parked myself at the nickle blackjack while my wife ordered free bubble bath from the front desk for a nice relaxing soak. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and an outstanding value versus some of the other options in the Gulfport/Biloxi area. The location was ideal for strolling around Biloxi and the area beaches. The pool area was perfect for laying out or splashing around. We avoided the high priced meals at the hotel, and took advantage of the cheap buffets of the other casinos, Waffle House, and Krystals (which we can't get in Texas).

Excellent Hotel. Beautiful. Definitely the nicest casino property in Biloxi. Only in Las Vegas will you find nicer casino/hotels. Stayed here one night in Nov 03. Cant wait to go back. Clean spacious rooms, courteous staff, excellent buffett. All around a great experience. If you are going to Biloxi, at least visit this property if you arent going to stay there.

Beautiful Hotel and Casino

We just got back from spending the Thanksgiving weekend at the Beau Rivage for the first time. From the moment we checked in we were treated special. We arrived early, around 10 and the room was available so we were able to check in early. The room was supposed to be a Standard City View. The room was a corner room on the 15th floor with a view of the gulf and the city. The room was spotless and very nicely decorated. The casino was better than we expected, large and beautiful.
This is very close to a Las Vegas experience. The slots are tight though. We didn't win like we would have in Vegas. The buffet has the best selection of any Vegas buffet. Also tried the Memphis Q BBQ restaurant. Excellent service and food. I have to really recommend this hotel to anyone who likes the casino style hotel. They really know how to treat their customers.

What a great place! The hotel rooms were beautiful-very spacious with big, big bathrooms. The staff was great - very helpful and courteous - I am very surprised at other reviews that didn't rate this place very high. We thought it was excellent - including the food. We definitely plan on returning.

I am surprised at the previous reviewers experience of bad service & rude employees. We recently stayed at the Beau Rivage & were impressed with the smiles & positive attitude of all the employees we came in contact with. They seemed to go out of their way to accomodate. Our whole visit was a delight & we would revisit this lovely spot in future.

Our party of twelve mostly stayed here and was happy with their rooms.
Buffet was very good and that's the best I can say. Rude and arrogant dealers, slow attendants on slots (over 1/2 hour wait for jammed slot) and tighter machines than other casinos was bad enough but when a dealer and pit boss exchanged words that attitude spilled over into our game. We all left and went to a neighboring casino for a much better time. Most of the people I talked to at other casinos said they also "hated" this casino.

I live 2.5 hours from Beau and will definitely be making the drive back over for this dinner buffet. It's one of the best I have ever had, and the environment is beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL! The food was lovingly prepared and displayed in beautiful coppery-looking woks (not your standard buffet presentation), and the staff was so professional; chefs decked out in their attire tending each food station. The total experience was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Exquisite desserts and classic favorites too. Wonderful soups, salads, cheese/crackers/fruit, ice creams, delicious crab legs w/clarified butter. There truly was something here for everyone from vegetarian dishes to sushi. I could go on and on about this place, but just wanted to post this for those of you considering a buffet in this area. Whatever you do and contrary to ads in the local guides, DON'T do Boomtown. That was so disgusting and a total waste of my money. No offense, but I care about what goes into my body and how it's been prepared. Thank you Beau Rivage for a wonderful buffet dining experience!

First Time/Last Time

We decided to go East for our vacation this year (September 2003).
Looking on the internet, we came across the Beau Rivage and it sounded and looked like a place we would enjoy since Las Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City and other gambling establishments appeal to us. We spent 6 nights at the Beau Rivage and were impressed with the room which was very nice. Did miss not having a coffee pot in the room and you would think an establishment of this caliber would supply such a simple thing. We sent one ahead of time but were charged a hotel fee for them receiving it (tacky). Restaurants were okay with the Memphis Q being outstanding with the best service and food (although expensive). The buffet was good but the food items did not vary much the entire week which made it rather boring to eat there very often. We were disappointed that the beach was not accessible from the hotel unless you walked quite some distance. We found the concierge less than helpful, not concerned for the tour we were booking and it seemed to be a bother to her. The slots were extremely tight and by far the tightest we have seen in all our visits to casinos around the states. Machine service was extremely slow and the techicians rather rude and indifferent. Players Club line was always long and moved slowly.

All in all, we enjoyed the stay as it was a new adventure but would not return as there are places far better. Rather disappointed that a hotel/casino this nice presented a mediocre atmosphere from its staff and that the feeling we got was that they were out to get everything they could from their guests. We would not return.

The Beau Rivage is beautiful but service was AWFUL! Don't blow your money here! We had reservations for a certain package & did not receive it upon our arrival--not even a discount. Did not get one comp--Player's Club line wound around the whole casino. Buffet seating took FOREVER. Ocean view was blocked by an outer building. People staying across from us were running half-naked & drunk through the halls ALL night (security didn't do squat). Complained to management on first night--did no good. Raised cain in lobby upon checkout--finally got a discount. My advice: stay somewhere else & just visit the Beau to see how pretty it is.

Top Local Tips for Biloxi

Beau Rivage Overall, the Beau Rivage is a beautiful establishment with friendly and attentive staff. I was lucky enough to spend Valentines day there, visit New Orleans, then come back and rest before flying home. We had dinner at the Tn/Blues themed restaurant twice and enjoyed the low price gaming tables. We thought the rumors about the buffet exceeded its actual value. The views were spectacular thoughout the coast, and you be beachside in about 5 minutes.

Don't Be Surprised that Recovery Efforts are Still Underway Go anyway--just be prepared to see signs of devastation and learn about it from the locals! There is still a lot to do--casinos are up and running, shopping malls are making a comeback, and New Orleans is within two hours. This area (and its people) needs our tourist dollars.

No coffee in room or wireless internet bring your own coffee maker if you need coffee first thing in the morning
