Top Local Tips for Tofte
Looking for wildlife ... This is the place to go if you love nature and the outdoors. Ask at the desk about the Sawbill trail. We found a remote location around dusk and I saw my first moose in the wild. I have also seen wolves, bald eagles, and lots of deer. I am still looking forward to my first bear siting.
WiFi having Internet access was an unexpected bonus
The Nightlife Take the Gichi Gami (sp?) trail around dusk to see lots of deer. We saw little cotton tails bouncing all over the place. Then we went for an evening drive up Hwy 1 and there was a Moose in the road! It is hard to belive they are related to deer - they are so different.And, yes, there are lots of great restaurants in the area. My favorite was a pastie we shared at Lockport. We also shared a piece of homemade pie. Yum!
