Hilton is a Hit for Business Trip
from delledge
This hotel is well prepared for conferences and conventions. From facilities to attentive & friendly staff, it is top notch for various-sized business needs. The guest rooms are fine, but not anything out of the ordinary. I appreciated the terrific bed and pillows, though, after long, intensive days of work. Room was always clean, fresh smelling, and quiet, as well. While I received a good "convention" rate, the 12.00/day parking fee and 9.95/day internet connex fee added up to a more significant rate.
The Hilton is an easy outdoor walk or skyway walk to The Nicollet which is a downtown strip filled with restaurants and shopping. Thank goodness you won't have to rely on the hotel restaurant (the weakest aspect of the Hilton) with the many restaurant options nearby. A two-level Target is also about 2 blocks away (very convenient if you need to pick up a few forgotton odds 'n' ends). Skyways also offer access to various locations (inc the convention ctr) as well during inclimate weather.

Very Nice Staff
from A TripAdvisor Member
My organization held its annual meeting at this hotel and I was very impressed at the attentiveness of the staff at every level (except for the door men, who made no effort to help me or anyone else with bags upon arrival). Our three-day meeting went off without a hitch, and every staff member I spoke with personally was very friendly. The lobby and conference rooms looked like hotels anywhere - although the big brass chandeliers in the lobby were a nice touch. The rooms were particularly cozy, with comfortable beds, big windows, and a nice big and clean bathroom.
We had buffets for lunch, dinner and breakfast, and they were good. Good coffee, too.
I paid for the internet access at $9.95 for 24 hours - cheaper than other places I've stayed, but free wireless should be a given for the nicer chain hotels.
All in all a very pleasant experience.

Our pick for a Minneapolis Hotel
from Crescoia
We have stayed here several times and keep coming back. We stayed on the concierge (towers) floor over a weekend (3/10 - 3/11/06). Our room (2428) had a pretty good city view, but from past stays I can say it pales by comparision to the corner rooms.
Check in was very busy with only two clerks on duty but went pretty quick anyway. One thing to remember about this hotel is that it is extremely convient to the convention center (connected by the skyway) and the lobby and restuarants can get very busy and very crowded if you are here during a conviention as we were. The fitness center / pool / hottub is a definate star attraction of this hotel and was very clean and well kept. The entire hotel and our room was in fact kept very clean and nice. I would agree with a previous poster that the bathrooms are very small and disappointing. There would be no way two people could use it to get ready at the same time.
As I said it is connected to the skyway system so just about everything downtown is convient regardless of the weather. That and the friendly service we have always got is the main reason we keep coming back.

Very disappointed

We stayed at the Hilton for 2 nights. After talking to the reservation desk, we were certain we would have the best stay. She was very convincing however very wrong. Upon arrival, we were given a handicap room with a broken shower (neither of us are handicap), a room with an "amazing" view of the roof (after a "guarenteed great view", poor room service, 6 non-working elevators with a 30 minute wait and they left our bill outside our door for the other guests to see. The room looked like something out of a 70's porn movie and smelled horrible. Not to mention the very noticable stains on the comforter. When asked to change rooms, we were denied and treated disrespectfully. I would never stay at this hotel again.
Beautiful at Christmas
from Lynn6
We loved this hotel. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated with a large Christmas tree, huge ornaments and had Santa there for breakfast, pictures and frosting cookies. It was just a short walk to Nicollet to watch the Hollidazzle parade, a little bit longer of a walk to watch The Rockettes at the Orpheum. We could have manuveured the skyways but chose to walk outside. The bar/lounge area is very nice, could be sporty or romantic depending on your mood. I was a little disappointed in our room, asked for an upgrade (VIP member) but did not receive one, not sure why. The bed was very comfortable, nice view from the 10th floor, bathroom was small and lacked any extras as far as being luxurius. (Just one sink and average towels) Had dinner at the Harmony restaurant, service was excellant as was the food. Nice pool area and workout facilities. A little disappointed also in executive level breakfast, out of everything but were busy restocking. Definitely would stay again just wish we would received VIP benefits since we are loyal Hilton customers.
Very Pleased

I live in a suburb of Minneapolis and stayed at the Hilton with 3 friends after a day of shopping. We were only at the hotel to get ready for dinner and then to sleep after we returned at midnight, so we didn't use the pool or other amenities. Therefore I can only comment on the room, the lobby and our service.
The service at the front desk was great! Very friendly, quick, and an easy check-out.
The lobby is beautiful; complete with a fountain and a doorman outside. There is a lobby bar and a restaurant that was serving brunch as we were checking out. It smelled great!
The room was nice, but small. There wasn't much spaced for luggage or to move around in the room, but the view was beautiful (we were on the 18th floor.) We asked for 2 double beds instead of a king because there were 4 of us. They felt like twin beds! Small to share, even for those of us who are married and used to sharing a bed. However, the beds were very comfortable; down pillows and down comforters. The bathroom was adequate, but very plain.
I booked the room on Priceline and got a decent price ($70). To us, it was worth it and I'd go back again for this type of stay. If I were looking for a hotel to spread out and relax in, then I'd look for something with larger rooms.

Loved the Hilton!

Courtesy of Priceline, we got a fantastic rate for a three night stay last weekend. Courtesy of American Airlines, we didn't get to our hotel until 1:30 AM. But that's another story.
Needless to say, check in was very quick. Our 16th floor room was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. Nice thick towels. Excellent pool and hot tub. I've never seen a stainless steel pool or hot tub. Very cool.
Convenient underground parking in the hotel. We'd definitely stay there again.

Best Stay Ever
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed here for my birthday and the accomadations were fabulous! My boyfriend got the Romance Package so champainge and strawberries were delivered to our room promptly after check-in. We received the top floor with a corner room and excellent view at no extra charge. Everything was free on our floor (except alcohol). Room service was prompt with everything. The beds were the best - huge, fluffy king bed made the stay fabulous. It was a great stay for the price and I would recommend it to anyone!
Nice stay
from Durango4x4
I stayed here while attending a convention. The rate was a little high, but since my company was paying, it was not a concern for me. The room was clean and in well kept condition. Overall, a very nice stay. Only problem dealt with very slow, marginal service at the main restaurant. I think it may have been a new person being trained. Very convienant to downtown. A little bit of a walk to the light rail station that takes you to the mall of America, but not so much to prevent me from doing it again. Above average compared to most hotels that I have stayed in when attending conventions in large cities.

The Hilton MPLS, held 3* ratings by most of the travel websites (Expedia, Orbitz, etc.) and it left me a bit worried before my arrival. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the 8th Floor. The rooms and beds had been recently rennovated to pillow top matresses, high thread count sheets and down pillows. The room was clean, well serviced, and I had two restful nights. The staff and service was typical for a very large hotel and I have no faults to report. It is in a great location with short walks to nightlife and restaurants. Upon further research, I discovered the only cause for a 3* rating was that the TV sits on top of the dresser rather than in an armore. I paid less per night than other properties I've stayed like the Courtyard or Marriott, and I thought it was superior to those hotels.
