Top Local Tips for Grand Rapids

You must visit Eastown and the Frank Lloyd Wright House! While in college, one of my roommates worked at Kava House in Eastown. The area is quiet and cute and you can park in one of the lots and walk around the area easily (even in the cold wintertime). Kava House serves great coffee drinks and the antique store down the street is great. For lunch, visit the Brandywine restaurant for a full meal; the have a huge menu and the food is DELICIOUS! Yesterdog is a great choice if you're not too hungry, but in the mood for a taste of authentic Grand Rapids (and the movie American Pie). Don't forget to visit the Heritage Hill district and do the tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright house. Not only is it interesting and gorgeous, but it's in the middle of a restored neighborhood. When you're done with the tour, you can take a stroll around the neighborhood and see other beautifully restored houses that are still residential homes.

Great Airport Grand Rapids airport is a great place to arrive, plus there is a direct flight to Washington, DC
