No hot water, dusty, electrical outlets exposed, rooms dirty, maid didn't replace towels and other items used. Never removed dirty coffee mugs, wallpaper peeling, floor covered in brown film, elevators are flat out scary, smoke detectors hanging from ceilings, staff unfriendly and couldn't provide receipt confirming payment of room, valet took 25 minutes to find car.

While this hotel was conveniently located next to the convention center, the amenities and services were horrendous. No hot water, dirty dishes in room, unfriendly staff, and very dusty air due to renovations.
 

Top Local Tips for Detroit

Not a Safe City to walk around in Greektown has gotten very unsafe. Unless you have a car, walking around on weekends or taking the People Mover is not recommended. Watch that the cabbies turn on their meters.

parking ramps We found that the parking ramp down the street from the hotel was much cheaper than valet parking. The parking ramp was $10/nt vs valet parking at $20/nt.

Joe Louis / Cobo Hall Events? This hotel is located right across the street from Cobo Hall - Joe Louis Arena. Walk is less than 5 minutes. However, the next time I go to a Wings game, I'm will try a place further down the street, Renassaince, Marriot, etc. This place I'm sure wouldn't be bad during an off-time or a non-busy weekend, but anytime there is a downtown event, this place would fail in all service areas!!!
