Great service
from curlycatPros - the service we got throughout the hotel was exceptional. Restaurant staff, gift shop staff, receptionists, security staff were all very friendly and professional - this was a real high point. We had a problem with our car on the car park when another guest damaged it in a minor bump and the security staff had it all dealt with before we even got up. Breakfast in the bistro was very good indeed.
Cons - whilst we were there neither the Rotunda bar nor Guilios restaurant was open and this was a real disappointment. It really reduced dining options and, whilst we did have an evening meal at the Bistro, it was not very good and I got the feeling that the kitchen staff were a bit out of their depths serving evening meals.
All in all we had a good stay at the Hyatt, but it would have been much better if all the facilites had been available.
Had enough with Hyatt

from boomer93Not up to Hyatt standard...
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe business center is not regularly opened, making internet access (for guests without a personal computer) a bit of a pain. Fortunately, the concierge was more than willing let me use their computer for the internet whenever I wanted. A problem solved, but still...
The staff working at the reception were okay, although I felt that they were not most polite hotel workers I have encountered. Their attitudes came off slightly rude and indifferent.
Other than those, the interior design of the hotel is up to par...
Wonderful hotel
from TronunitOne tip is to book your stay on a weekend that does not hold conferences. The rate goes down dramatically. I received a room for $70.00 through Priceline. Since there are only two 4-star hotels in Dearborn, you will most likely get the Hyatt (the other is the Ritz) At check-in I inquired if the hotel was full and then asked in a friendly way to upgrade me if they felt in a good mood. So, for $70.00 I received a deluxe room that is 3X the size of the standard room.
I had a chance to see the standard room as well that is about 500 SF. Nicely decorated but the restroom is rather small. The deluxe room is also nicely decorated with a firm bed, a mix of feather and synthetic pillows, a marble minibar with sink and large(r) refrigerator. The restroom is very large with an 8ft, double sink counter. The bathtub is nothing exceptional and is similar to one in any standard hotel. There is also a nice glass table with four chairs in the sitting area. A 27 inch TV in Armoire, writing desk and large glass tables flanking both sides of the bed.
The fitness room has five treadmills and two elliptical machines and one stairmaster. There is a lat pulldown and bench press with some free weights. Towels are provided. The pool is just a splash pool more suitable for kids. Since it is small and oval shaped, there's no hope for swimming laps as an adult.
The common areas are beautiful and fitting for a 4-star hotel. Several dining options but if you're on a budget, the cafe serves sandwiches and breakfast (with Starbucks Coffee) at an affordable price.
The hotel is central to many attractions. However, I would caution against a trip to the Fairlane mall which sits next to the property. The store selection is dreadful (many stores are going through mergers, so stock is limited). More importantly, the mall has had many problems with theft. They imposed a 5:00pm or 6:00pm curfew so that youth under the age of 18 cannot enter the mall without a parental guardian. This should tell you something about the desirability of shopping there. Stay away.

from loulatchAs soon as I arrived at the Front Door, I was blown away by the Doorman's kindness & prompt, sincere service. He politely assisted my wife & I out of the cab & into the hotel & directly to the Front Desk. It was pouring rain in Detroit & we hadn't brought an umbrella, as it sunny & nice in Savannah, GA when we left. When we got to the Front Desk - he introduced my wife & I by OUR NAMES (which was amazing as we hadn't even given him our names - he retrieved them from our luggage tags) & politely offered his name & informed us that if there is anything that we would like assistance with during our stay to contact him. Before we had completed our check-in, the Doorman returned to the Desk with an umbrella to utilize during our stay, as the forecast was calling for rain for the next couple of days.
The Front Desk clerk welcomed us with a smile & offered her name as a contact during our stay in the Detroit area.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The lobby was very contemporary, but had a warm welcoming feeling as well. The room was very spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean.
The service from the staff the entire 3 day stay was amazing. In fact, the Hyatt has a "lobby Greeter" as they referred to it as, who serves as a point of contact 24 hours a day. WOW!
I definitely recommend this hotel over all others in the Detroit area.
Hyatt Regency Dearborn - What a delightful place!
from GavinBirchI Stayed on a Tuesday for 3 nights, and felt like a VIP from the moment I checked in at the Front Desk and was greeted by a pleasant clerk with a warm smile, to the moment I left, and the friendly doorman gave me very thorough directions back to the airport.
The lobby is exquisite, and very nicely designed. The staff is extremely friendly. They go out of their way to offer assistance to you during your stay. (this is not typical of Detroit area Hotels). Additionally, there are 2 very good restaurants in the hotel, which are priced very inexpensively, the Bistro on 2, which serves American cuisine, and Giulio & Sons, which is frequented by Dearborn locals. (imagine that - a hotel restaurant that attracts local diners).
There is so much to do right around the hotel. The Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village is located less than a mile away. Furthermore, the hotel is located right next to a fantastic mall, which has a brand new Bally's health club in it, and a world-class movie theatre.
THIS IS TRULY A BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY! This hotel has it all! If you're traveling to Dearborn / Detroit, I recommend this hotel and I've stayed at quite a few of them.
The Hyatt Regency Dearborn blows away its competition easily topping the Westin Airport & The Dearborn Inn: 2 other hotels that I've stayed at during my Detroit visits.
The Westin isn't near anything, which makes it very boring & you feel like you're sleeping on the tarmac of the main Northwest terminal. The Dearborn Inn is so historic that the rooms literally feel like they were updated in another time period.
Top Local Tips for Dearborn
Historic Baseball at Greenfield Village If you are traveling to Dearborn in the summer, be sure to take in an historic baseball game at Greenfield Village. The Nationals and La-De-Dahs play almost every weekend in the summer. A live band plays during the game and an announcer provides very humorous commentary. It's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
Motown If you have a few extra hours, be sure to visit the Motown Museum, the original home of Motown Records. It was a wonderful step back in time, and was only about a 20 minute drive from the hotel.
Have accurate maps You need to have a good map to navigate around the construction in the Detroit/Dearborn area.Need a good map to find the Hyatt as well.
