from bostonberryI would also add that, after recent Hotel personel changes, everything is back to the highest Westin standards.
Pretty good
from A TripAdvisor MemberHowever, I should not that this is not a typical Westin Hotel, as I've come to expect from their chain. The bathrooms were standard and nothing special. They were clean but very basic.
The decorations in the room were ok but nothing spectacular either.
OVerall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.
Shabby crappy hotel
from FosssilWound up switching rooms after my first room filled up with someone else's marijuana smoke. The second room looked just like the first, but this one had a mini-bar. But the bar was about the worst-stocked I've ever seen.
This place looks nice from the outside but barely rates 2/5 in my book. I won't stay here again.
The Bad Reviews are TRUE!!! Stay somewhere else!
from cancercaregiver1)The hotel was not that clean. Outside was littered with cigarette butts and garbage. There was hair in our bathtub, and the room carpet seemed dirty.
2)Heavenly Bed,my toe! This was the single most uncomfortable night sleep that we have had since our sons were newborns. NO kidding! The bed is as hard as a rock. Sure, the comforter is great, but the bed feels like the floor. Heavenly Bath - a nice shower head but with the hair on the tub floor, I would not take a bath in this tub. Only had one bathrobe and one bath towel in the room.
3)Room service messed up our order TWICE! We ordered one of their westin clubs and it arrived missing the Turkey - just lettuce, tomato, and 2 slices of bacon. They did bring us another, but it was later on. VERY expensive and not worth the money. The cheeseburger was decent though.
4)Staff was rude and unhelpful. The girl at check-in was nice, but other than that, they need to get new help.
5)This hotel had constant construction going on during the day - ask before you reserve. I realize that we can't expect complete silence during the day. But the mind-numbing hammering was like chinese water torture - we just kept waiting for it to start again. So noisy we could not watch TV! Called down to the front desk to inquire and were told "Construction will be going on all day." No sorry, can we get you some earplugs, nothing. If you are heading to the clinic for treatment, you are going to want to go back and rest. This will not be possible at this hotel.
So, in summary, we will not be back. It was definitely not worth the money and the Marriott is a much better deal. The beds are more comfortable and the people are nicer. Hopefully, the Starwood corporation will get on this hotel to change things as it does not live up to the name.
Not up to Westin Par

from A TripAdvisor MemberWe usually stay at the Westin Copley Place while in Boston. We stayed here because of a wedding nearby. I spent the whole weekend wishing we had stayed at the Courtyard across the street.
s pot luck with this place...
from ejmrPerhaps the best in the area, but if you can, think twice.
a). Received smoking room despite specific request - response was 'hey, what can you do?'. I refrained from answering that one.
b). Shoe Shine service clearly couldn't tell the difference between black and brown polish - I now have a nice pair of brown Ferragamos with black streaks.
c). Phoned-in breakfast never arrived, room service dinner lacked half the ingredients in the description
d). Keys stopped working and no explanation was offered when we replaced them.
I love Starwood properties, but this has to be the black sheep of the family. Excellent doormen/bellmen managed to keep the mood in mid range, good location helps, average property is forgivable, but appalling service ruined it...
Hope they'll improve.
Nice Place
from GenevaxOne drawback...there is a charge for internet access. $5.00 for 15 minutes. There are two computers available. One in the gift shop and one is near the registration desk. The station near registration is entertaining in the fact that guests assume that who ever is using this station is a the concierge. Kinda funny, but awkward.
The room service was quite good and the lunch served for the conference was very good as well.
I was fortunate to have a room with a view of a lake.
Traffic is a little confusing, but manageable.
Airport access is about 20-25 min. without traffic. Access to Harvard 10-15 min.
Very Nice Waltham Hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberDefinitely up to the high Westin Standard
from A TripAdvisor MemberTop Local Tips for Waltham
In the suburbs... In case you are wondering, this hotel is in the burbs. It is easily accessible via I-90, I-93 and especially I-95, but if you want to be closer to the Boston, or nightlife, you need to stay somewhere else. The only people that come here to stay for longer periods of time are golfers, business travelers, or leisure travelers - NOT tourists. Unless... unless you want to see the suburbs....
Internet Access I didn't pay for internet access as there seemed to be wi-fi access available for free
Parking Parking cost $9.00 per night for self parking (very convenient) or pay $14.00 per night for valet parking.
