Top Local Tips for Wakefield

Go a few exits down to 38 - Duck Walk Restaurant We were told to try out a restaurant in the area (Wakefield Center) -- following Exit 38 A, we got almost to the end of Wakefield Center and on our right was the Duck Walk Restaurant. This was a mix of Thai type food...my sister and I opted to split 3 appetizers and a mango rice...we ended with coconut ice cream and lychee nuts (fruit) with some ginkgo biloba tea...the food was great, fresh, hot and served quickly with a smile. We had a really delightful experience there and I wish I lived close to go back. The menu was huge with a variety of tastes (seafood, poultry, beef...)

watch the taxie, know your route! we paid $40 for a cab ride into salem to go out one night. the cabbie took us through back roads and neighborhoods, I can only assume to run up the meter. When we got back, we looked it up on the map and it should have been half that. Not nice! We had a rental car but thought we would be responsible, since we were going to have drinks.

Convenient to Salem Only a short 5 to 10 minute drive to Salem and worth going to see some of the history. Avoid all the cheesy witch museum stuff! Also you can take the ferry from Salem to Boston and it is beautiful and much cheaper than a cruise to Boston. You see the same stuff but for a cheaper price. :)
