Top Local Tips for Orleans
No extra charge for fleas One or both of the rooms in which we stayed at The Cove resulted in 30+ flea bites each to my wife and me. This would not actually have been a deal breaker, but it added insult to injury. I don't recommend Orleans, particularly. If you must stay on the Cape, there are better places to stay. Personally I will never visit the Cape again. I strongly recommend AGAINST staying at The Cove, as it was a traumatic experience for both of us and largely ruined what was likely the last vacation my health will permit me to take, and the first real vacation we had been able to take in about 20 years. My wife encountered a rude sales clerk at a nearby store, although we met lovely, friendly people staffing a museum and historic house away from Orleans. Even had The Cove not ruined the Cape for both of us I think Orleans would have dropped several notches in my rating of places on the Cape.
