We stayed here and loved it. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and really went out of their way to help us with directions, recommendations etc.

We picked the place cause it was pet friendly (we brought our dog) and it was cool because there's always a staff member's dog behind the front desk to greet us.

Top Local Tips for Oak Bluffs

Martha's vineyard, oak bluffs, surfside motel We took Cape air from Boston Logan airport to the island. It is a 7-8 seaters propeller plane and only took 30 mins. It is an experience that I think everyone should try at least once. From the airport, we took a cab to our motel cost us $20 for two people. At surfside motel, we were allowed to check in at 10 am although regular check in time is 1 or 2 pm, since our room isnt occupied. (nice folks) We then took a 2 1/2 hour sighseeing tour for $23 around the island. The driver is pretty knowledgable about the island and pretty much kept talking for a whole 2 1/2 explaining everything about from pine trees to celebrites who live on the island. During 2 1/2 tour, we went to Gay Head for a 30 minutes to take pictures. I recommend lobster roll and clam chower at gay head. we also rented bikes to go around but bikes needed to be returned at certain time so start your day early if you plan to ride far. Stores at vineyard haven close earlier than oak bluffs so plan accordingly.

Take a Different Ferry to MV There is another ferry called the Patriot Party Boats that operates the Quickwater ferry, just to the right of the Island Queen Dock at the end of the harbor. These go right to Falmouth's Dock Street.

Don't bother with Chappy There is not much to see and any view of the lighthouse is expensive. Stick to the island and you'll have more fun!
