Historical Traveller Reviews of The Westin Copley Place Hotel

A fine hotel

from DCTraveler14
The facilities and staff of the Westin are excellent, and my stay there was a real pleasure. The location is great, both in relation to Boston landmarks and to restaurants and shopping. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. One of the small oversights (no coffee in room upon arrival) was quickly corrected. Almost every staff member I came in contact with was friendly and efficient. When I checked out, the lobby was very busy with conferences beginning and ending, but I didn't have to wait for assistance from bell staff or the front desk. I would certainly return to the Westin in the future.

Nice one night stay

Stayed in August in SPG 39th floor room with great view of the city. Room was very nice as are most Westin's and location was close to Prudential Center which has great shopping and restaurants nearby.

Staff was very nice.

Has a nice pool and workout facility, although they were empty.

Big convention was going on and so only bar open at night was absolutely over capacity.

Would definetely stay again, although valet parking at $36. a night's a bit steep.

First Rate Hotel- a 10!

The top floors have awesome views of the city and Charles River. Copley Place is a nice neighborhood and an excellent starting point for walks to the Boston Common and Freedom Trails. The subway station is a block away from this hotel which is an added bonus. The hotel is connected to a mall with great stores and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.

So disappointed

from patnlcc
So disappointed in the Westin Copley Place, Boston. We booked a junior suite way back in January 2004 for a stay over 4th July weekend, and asked for a room high up, and overlooking the river. The rate was 269 dollars a night - I can't believe we paid this! What they call a junior suite, I call a slightly bigger bedroom - they told us junior suites were one third bigger than regular rooms. The bathroom was tiny. The coffee tray took up most of the bathroom counter space! It was on the 8th floor, overlooking a car park. The check-in guy asked if we had just booked that day! We complained, and they said there was nothing they could do as the hotel was full. They offered either a free breakfast or some free Starwood points! We travelled all the way from Scotland for Boston's 4th July celebrations, still enjoyed it as we went outside with the crowds, but we feel that the Westin is just a rip-off. By the way, you'll get a fresher, cheaper breakfast in Au Bon Pain which is right next door and full of Westin customers!

wonderful hotel

We stayed at the Westin for 3 days beginning of June. This hotel is wonderful! The beds ARE heavenly, the view was awesome! Starbucks coffee is the complimentary brand for you to make in your room! The toiletries were great!
Our first day there was a rainy day, so we were delighted to find out that a shopping mall was connected to our hotel: we didn't have to go outside at all! Restaurants, Starbucks, movie theatres, all the shops you could dream of were all right there for us to visit!
The Westin is in a great area for sightseeing, too. Easily within walking distance of almost all of the museums and places we wanted to visit.
If you can afford it, this is a great hotel to be in! We were with a school group, so got a great discount (but the school paid for it so that was even better!!!!)

great stay..excellent beds!

This hotel is in a great location, just steps away from newberry st, the mall, the subway. The beds are so comfortable and the heavenly shower is also nice. The free highspeed interner was very convenient and everyone in the hotel was so friendly. The parking was pricey ($36/day) but when my husband needed his singlasses, they ran up to the car to get them for him. i would definately stay again ..totally worth the priceline $175/night i got it for!!

I liked it a lot!

I stayed at the Westin Copley on December 20, 2003 for one night. The beds were VERY comfortable and the rooms were clean and simply decorated. The hotel is big but not crowded or noisy. Food is a bit overpriced so I chose not to eat there. There was friendly service and wonderful location. I would definitely stay here again. Could use some sort of entertainment though.

Great Hotel in a Great City

from MarieNOVA_10
My husband and I stayed at the Westin Copley Place for a long weekend in March 11-15. I highly recommend the Westin: the beds were incredibly comfortable, there was free high-speed internet, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the river view was very nice. Proximity to shopping, restaurants, and subway was excellent. I definitely plan on staying there again next time I'm in Boston.

Excellent Stay !

from Snedders
We spent 3 nights at this hotel over the weekend of 9th January - which happened to be the coldest temperatures that Boston has had for about 20years!! The fantastic location of this hotel helped us a lot given that the sky walks meant we did not actually have to venture out into the cold weather if we did not want to. The Palm restaurant, the hotel bar, the staff, the rooms and most of all the location were excellent and we would not hesitate to stay there again. Boston is fab and I would love to go back in the summer !

Great choice

from A TripAdvisor Member
As a relative local, I knew we were choosing a great location for our weekend in the city. The Westin is connected to an endless complex of upscale shops (Gucci, Neiman Marcus, Pink, Tiffany, Coach, etc.) and restaurants, all connected by enclosed walkways that are welcome during frigid weather like that we experienced this weekend. It's also right beside the Boston Public Library and a short walk to Newbury Street, Trinity Church, the South End, etc. But the hotel itself is clean, calm, and comfortable. We had a junior suite on the 34th floor (Starwood Preferred Guest floor - definitely join the program for the upgrades) with spectacular views of the city and that terrific Westin king-sized bed. Bathroom was small but serviceable. Every staffer we dealt with was friendly and accommodating, and all requests were handled promptly. We mentioned that we were celebrating a special occasion, and found a handwritten card and candy plate waiting in our room. We requested extra pillows - they appeared within minutes, and were followed by a phone call just to make sure they had arrived. The heating system worked well, and there was no excessive noise. Gripes: I loathe the fluorescent light bulbs, but alas they are more and more common. Also, drawer space was lacking - just 3 in the armoire.
Overall, though, we found it to be a wonderful experience, and will definitely return.
