My husband and I have stayed at Hiltons many times...many locations. We had always had great service and accomodations. Except, when we visited in 2003 at the Hilton Back Bay...the visit was very upsetting. I found someone else's underwear in the bed. (It was not discovered until the next morning!)Obviously, the bed had not been changed from the previous guests.
We will continue to visit Hiltons but probably not the one in Back Bay Boston.

A very nice hotel with a courteous, helpful staff in a great location! Spacious, well appointed rooms--absolutely spotless. Minor problems were handled smoothly and quickly. Ask for a room with a view of the beautiful Back Bay. One small complaint--although the service was very good, the restaurant's food in this hotel can only be called average. We'll stay here again.

Shower head broken. Was repaired immediately, but still had a problems with drain. Plug had to be removed for tub to drain during shower. Also, plug by the bathroom door in room 2003 may have a short. Had to keep playing with to get the plug to work. Room floor had two large spots by bed by window. Room had an almost sower smell as if the floor was cleaned and not dried well before it sowered.

The staff were very nice and the bellboys were very nice and polite.

The room certainly wasn't a $189. per night room. I did report this to the front desk and asked them to report to management. I told them the room really needed some attention before it was rented to anyone else.

Loved Boston

I took a week and went to Boston. I was impressed with the hotel that I stayed in - The Hilton at Back Bay. I loved the Back Bay. We walked every where -saw all the sites and was totally impressed by the city and the people living there. The area was clean and safe and there is so much to experience and see. I want to go back. Cannot go to Boston Back Bay without having cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory....just out of the world.

Great hotel, great location

Our family stayed at the Hilton for 2 nights in May, 2003. We had 2 adjoining rooms and they were both very nice, spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and we had a nice breakfast in their restaurant. The location couldn't be better -- an easy walk to Boylston St, Copley Place, Prudential Center, Fenway Park and the T. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and would definitely go back to the Hilton.

Stayed at the Hilton Back Bay April 2004. Clean, mostly quiet. Nice staff. Fitness room needs work - machines not working, too much stuff in too small a space. Small pool, no hot tub. Location good for getting to other stuff. Sheraton across the street connects to skyways that connect to shopping and food at Prudential Center. Close to subways, Newbury street shopping.

I stayed at the Hilton for three nights in March. The room was unbelievably quiet. I did not hear another guest in the Hotel, although it was quite full. Bed and pillow very comfortable, plenty of room in bathroom and room, nicely sized office desk with internet access. I stayed on the 25th floor with a fantastic view of the city and the Charles River. Location is great, quick access to the T, walking distance to shopping, dining and the public gardens. Conference was held on site - room was comfortable, breakfast was typical continental, unremarkable muffins, great coffee. Lunch was better than average conference food - unique soups, salads and entrees with delicious cheesecake. Fitness room was small, as was pool. I would recommend for business as well as pleasure travel.

It depends on your expectations. I enjoyed my stay last week and would definitely recommend this hotel. The check-in/out was smooth, my room was clean except for a small spot on the floor. The decor is nothing spectacular and in spots the wallpaper was peeling and some of the furniture was dinged but as a Hilton Honors member I got a deluxe corner room with panoramic view for $124 a night. It had a nice shower with two shower heads. I read some complaints about hotels not having bathtubs. Let's be real, unless you have kids when was the last time most people took a bath in the hotel? The hotel is in a convenient location to shopping, eating, and transit access as well as sightseeing. It is not a romantic, boutique type hotel and not in the middle of the action, but served my needs well and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful stay even with a full hotel

When we checked in on Saturday in March we thought it would be an awful night. There were buses of band students staying, the hotel was full to the top (according to the doorman) and one of the three elevators was out of service.

Once we got to the rooms we were pleasantly surprised to find wonderful accomodations with a door between our rooms, which was great, and provided with no request. Lovely, clean, and a great night with no noisy band students.

Doorman gave us good recommendations for dinner because the hotel is in a great location. When we cam back, no line at the elevator--it had been fixed.

When we called, as directed, to check out, the desk clerk said she would have the valet bring our car. She didn't. From what we heard, bypassing her and ringing the valet directly is the best way to get your car. We had a 10-15 minute wait in the cold and it took the parking manager to get the job done.

The hotel itself was very very good and I would recommend it highly.

Excellent hotel with no faults

My family and I stayed there for Thanks Giving '03 and would love to go back for the same time this year, I've been checking the web and god the prices have gone up, we got it in '03 for an average of $110, per night now it's $200, people must be reading these comments alot. Would definetely go back, the staff were so helpful & cheerful. I would recommend this hotel to everybody!!!

HAPPY WITH THE HILTON

Stayed there in October 2003 for a couple of days after driving up from New York and all our impressions of the hotel and Boston itself are favourable. The rooms are massive compared to Manhattan and well stacked with complimentary drinks , soaps etc. I found all the staff all very helpful , especially the tall balding guy at the front !The views from the balcony were excelent and the location is great for shopping and transport. Only real quibbles are the price of parking a car and the lack of a complimentary breakfast ... but there are some superb eateries nearby. No complaints.

Top Local Tips for Boston

Get a Charlie Card Get a Charlie Card for travelling on all public transport in & around Boston. Its so cheap its unbelievable and the "T" as they call it is an excellent way of getting about.

saving money on transit definitely get a charlieticket - a 7-day ticket is only $15, and it works for both buses (which are everywhere and convenient) and the T. a one-day ticket is $9, so might not be worth it depending on what you're up to.

Walking tour Pick up a walking tour guide to Boston at any of the conveniently located visitor centers and take a nice walk. It was so amazing to see so many of the historic places of American History and the tombs of our founding fathers. And, the best part is that looking costs you virtually nothing. What a bargain! That said, if you want to go inside to look around, you will have to pay.
