Exquisite pampering by staff

from ustravelerStl
We were lucky enough to arrive on the second day of business for the Gold Building and the staff was wonderful and so attentive. I was most impressed by the complimentary breakfast and happy hour appetizers. The presentations were like something out of Bon Appetite and the cuisine was better than any 5 star restaurant we could find in
Boston. Thanks to all the boys in their brown pinstriped suits!

What a wonderfull wolrd!!!

This is a very nice spot. Well located, kindyness services, clean and beautiful room. this hotel "Boutique" worth every dollars.

You will be within 5 minutes by walk to Quincy Market, Feneuil place, 10 minutes by walk to boston common park and newbury street. There is a starbuck close to the hotel and some restaurants. Nice neighborhood and a quiet spot. Wiew of the harbor so pleasant.

Good trained staff!

In fact a jem. Will definitively go back.

Hidden Gem

This hotel was very nice, private and relaxing. If you're flying in, I suggest you take the water taxi from Airport, it's only $10. The view of Boston's skyline/downtown from the water taxi is a sight to see. There were yachts and boats all over the harbor, which gave me a relaxing feeling coming into Boston. The water taxi takes you directly to the hotel and they provided baggage assistance from the dock, which made it very comfortable going up the small ramp.

Checking in was really great, the desk clerk took the time to explain the amenities of the hotel and gave me a short tour of the lobby and dining area. They also asked if I made any reservations or needed one during my stay. This was a first class delight, and made me accept the invitation to make a reservation at the local restaurant. From there, the desk clerk escorted me to my room, and demonstrated the new room card/key that you need to get on the elevator and entry doors after dark. The security for this hotel made me feel extremely safe and private.

The Hotel is truely modern and has some of the new era amenities, such as a flat screen TV with surround sound in bathroom. This feature was great as I could listen to the news while shaving. There was no radio or IPOD docking station, but the TV had stations that included soft jazz and pop. The hotel also had a new intervative telephone with a small LCD screen that shows weather, news, hotel info, etc. The bed was nicely made and towels were new and fresh. There was a stand up shower, no bath tub, but it was nicely tiled. Very fresh looking. There were separted quarters for the toliet, which was a nice feature, with a telephone. There was only one problem, when the person in the other room took a shower, you could hear the noise of the water through the pipes. It was rather loud and it could have been just my room.

The hotel is located in the North End and is close to all the Italian restaurants on the famous Hanover street. I went to Game 5 of Boston Celtics game and the hotel was fairly close, maybe a 1/2 mile. You could also walk to the Market area and downtown location, but a cab ride is fairly cheap. I would recommend this hotel for anyone, especially couples and business travelers.

Good with a few minor kinks

from Landwlkr
As a travel agent, I am fortunate to stay in many wonderful hotels. The Fairmont chain is definitely at the top of my list of favorites, so I frequently attempt to stay in their properties. This new edition to their repertoire is very nice, but has a few issues to work out.

The lobby is sleek, with many places to sit and enjoy a coffee or cocktail. Not as expansive as other hotels, it is cozy and intimate. The front desk is at one end, the bar and restaurant are on the other (I didn't get to try the bar/restaurant area).

The front desk gentleman took the time to show me to my room, and walked me inside to show me the features. Even though its good service, I prefer just to find my room on my own. Maybe it's just me, I don't like having the chaperone.

The room itself is very nice, modern, large, with nice amenities. The mini bar is very well stocked, the TV is a large flat screen. The coffee maker took a little figuring out, but once I got the hang of it, it was delicious. The bathroom is also quite big, but my room had no bathtub, just a shower. They have the standard shampoos, soaps, etc. Nothing extra fancy.

What I didn't like: First, the sheets-- very scratchy and stiff. Too new? I don't know. The bed also wasn't made correctly, the sheets were all bunched at the end. The bed was a little hard for my preference, but pillows plenty soft. The bigger complaint was that my room was situated right above the front entrance of the hotel, and the windows did not offer as much sound proofing as I would like. Through the evening, night and morning I could hear conversations going on below. The hotel is otherwise in such a quiet area, those noises were really magnified (and annoying). Mostly it was the doormen talking and laughing and having a nice old time, so I didn't have the heart to ask them to quiet down. Since I got a reduced travel agent rate, I expected to have poor room positioning. It was unfortunate though, and I will make sure my clients don't have rooms on the 2nd floor.

Finally, be aware that the hotel isn't as close as you might like to public transportation, and there is no taxi stand. I was instructed by the front desk to give them 10 minutes advance notice when a taxi is required, but had problems with other guests taking my intended ride. Not a huge deal, but something the hotel needs to work on.

All in all, great room, very very friendly staff, in a fun part of the city (I love the North End). Close by is also lovely Charlestown which also has good restaurants and sites to see. I would stay there again, but ask for a different room.

Best Hotel Experience

from jeruk85
First of all, I am a big fan of Fairmont. I think they treat their customers very well from the bell hoppers all the way to the general managers. With that being said, choosing a Fairmont in Boston was no brainer. I chosed Battery Wharf over Copley Place due to its age and location. It's brand new (only five months old), right by the water in the North End neighborhood, near excellent italian and seafood restaurants, less crowded (less conventioneers and tourists) and a good walking distance to the aquarium and quincy market.

The hotel exterior and interior were well kept. The ambiance in the lobby was good. The staff were very helpfull, attentive and personal. The room that we stayed in was marvelous - facing the water with floor to ceiling windows, right in front of a fireboat. The room came with all the modern amenities - textured wall papers, plush carpets, luxurious marble bath, flat screen HDTV, DVD player, high end communication devices, plenty of closet space, nespresso machine, and alarm clock / Ipod charger.

There were only three minor setbacks: First, the bathroom. Although it's luxurious (covered with marbles from head to toe, rain shower head, and kohler fixtures) and spacious (oversize shower stall, privacy toilet), it did not come with a bath tub. I think a bath tub is a must to unwind and relax after a long day in the city, especially after sightseeing with small children.

Second, the parking. Valet was $40/nite with in and out priveleges, which was steep. You can park your car outdoor overnite for a lot less if you're willing to forego the in/out priveleges and don't mind walking a few blocks away.

Third, the fitness center. The gym room was small, it was probably the same size of our room. However, we were told that the gym would be moved to a bigger room. And there's no pool on site, which was strange considering that the hotel was considered to be one of the trendiest hotels in the city.

Outstanding service, lovely room with a view

from WhiteTara
The hotel is part of a expensive condo project built on the wharf that is next to the Coast Guard Station in Boston ... in other words ... way out in the back of beyond unless what you are looking for is The North End of Boston with its fabulous Italian food, peace and quiet, a nice view and the best service I have experienced in 45 years of hotel experiences. Worth being a little out of the way, in my estimation. I could walk to "downtown" Boston in about 15 minutes, to the Aquarium in about the same. There is no T stop that is particularly convenient, Aquarium was about the best although Haymarket is closer if you know exactly where you are going. The bed was the size of a small state as was the television with an outstanding movie selection; and it was the quietest hotel I have stayed in, except for the occasional door slam in the halls. When are hotel architects going to figure that out? There is a lively bar and a good restaurant in the hotel. A deli about a block North, and a Starbucks about three blocks South. Anyhow, if you want to be treated well and sleep well... go here.

Fantastic hotel, great location

from GoHabsGo24Cups
My girlfriend and I spent 3 days at the Fairmont Battery Wharf and we had a very nice time. The hotel staff is relatively young, polite and always willing to please... service was exceptional.

Room was awesome, loved the interactive phone and flat screen TVs. Well furnished too (more contemporary), but that is to be expected of a Fairmont.

The restaurant (Sensing) was also quite nice, had three excellent meals and once again the service was excellent in addition to exquisite meals.

Highly recommended hotel, when we go back to Boston we will be for sure staying there again.

the best room, the best service!

from pghgiirl
The service was outstanding! Everyone went out of their way to assist us. The rooms were amazing - comfy beds, incredible water views, luxurious bathrooms, great products and in room espresso! A quick walk to the North End where you can find shopping and dining. A beautiful area for a morning walk. We will definitely go back soon!

I've stayed at many of the nice hotels in Boston over the years but have never experienced service like this. Every person that we dealt with went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Our room was wonderful, too. We had a great view of the harbour (and I especially loved the in room espresso machine!) I'll definitely stay here when I return to Boston!

Great Service

Ther sevice at this hotel was about the best i have ever experienced. The rooms were quite nice, although the views from the "unobstructed water view" was not totally unobstructed, as most of the view was of another wing of the hotel, and ythe vintage point of the harbor was not the best.
