Nice hotel but could be better.

Admittedly my party and I arrived late (~10pm), however, we got stuck in smoking rooms when we'd clearly reserved non-smoking. While the smell wasn't strong, it was noticeable. I was also disappointed that internet service was not free (~$10). Most hotels of this level that I've stayed at offer wireless service free of charge. Considering the cost of the rooms you'd think they could include the internet service.

The Best Free Food Ever!

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed at the Embassy Suites Logan Airport following a visit to upstate NY. The room was fine - clean and not too cramped. The hotel offered a free late afternoon/early evening appetizer bar and "complimentary" breakfast. BOTH offerings exceeded expectations! The appetizer bar was enough for a full meal for both adults and kids and the breakfast included every imaginable breakfast food with eggs cooked to order.

An Excellent Hotel

Stayed for the first time at a hotel close to Logan airport, normally stay downtown in Boston, and could not have picked a better hotel. From the moment we checked in with the very friendly and helpful staff you knew it was going to be a pleasure to stay here. The reception that opens up onto the bar & restuarant area sets the tone, very clean & spacious, its modern design is friendly to the eye. The suites themselves are again spacious featuring 1 bedroom with two double beds & television, they also have a lounge that has a small kitchen area & a sofa that opens up into a double bed & television with nintendo for the kids (extra charge). Although more expensive to stay that the hotels i previously had stayed at in Boston (5th time) ie Copley Square, Midtown, etc, this has to go down as the best in standard & value for money!! Plus within the price is a complimentary Breakfast (excellent choices available) & on some evenings a complimentary managers buffet. My only complaint and it is a small one was the size of the indoor pool, more like a large bath!! but there was a nice sized gym there. And one last thing to consider is that both Hertz & Dollar car rental premises are only 2 minutes away on foot, What more could you want. Overall an excellent hotel!!!!

Perfect if you arrive late and want to pick up a rental car in the morning.

We arrived at Logan in the evening with plans to head to Cape Cod the next day. Staying at the Logan Embassy Suites made it possible for us to pick up our rental car the next morning as all the rental companies have their lots right beside the hotel! On check in we were given an upgrade to a corner Executive Suite. The suite was great. 2 TVs, large bathroom and very clean. The bar downstairs has multiple flat screen TVs and was a great place to watch the Sox win. I agree with others about the neighborhood not being very nice (there are abandoned warehouses right around the corner) but a 5 minute shuttle from the airport and close rental lots make this a winner for me. When passing through Boston the next time we'll stay here again.

We travel A LOT and figured we'd give ourselves a break for an early flight out of Logan Thanksgiving weekend and just stay there the night before, expecting absolutely nothing out of an airport hotel. All I can say is WOW! Great service, amenities, room was huge and bed very comfortable, complete with lots of pillows! We also got a great rate with breakfast included. Place seems relatively new and if it isn't, they keep it up like it is. With a short hop to the T and downtown, great workout facility, pool and business center, I would be tempted to make this my "port of call" for my next Boston trip- didn't even seem like we were at the airport. Highly recommend you check it out.

I attended school at the hotel and found the staff to be excellent, from reynold the breakfast guru to Bouchaib (spelling?) the waiter. i recommend our company, MANULIFE choose to have all our meetings there!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites for one night in October 2004. We liked the free snacks and beverages when we arrived. We ate at the hotel restaurant and we were disappointed in the food. My husband's steak was well-done instead of medium, and my dinner was only so-so. The free breakfast had lots to choose from including cook-to-order omelets and Belgian waffles. The room was clean, and nicely furnished with 2 TV's and a large bathroom. We liked having 2 rooms so my son could go to bed before we did. We went swimming and found the pool and area around the pool had a film of algae. The pool itself was rather cold and had a lot of chlorine. Overall, the hotel was very nice and everyone was friendly to us. I would stay there again when I need to fly out of Boston early the next morning.

Not the same as other Embassies...

We just stayed overnight for a business trip. The hotel was a typical airport hotel, which was not the same as all the other Embassies that we've stayed at. The room furniture and decor was not up to the level of other Embassies. The complimentary breakfast buffet was good and the manager's reception was ok, no alcoholic beverages (for all you drinkers). We were nervous about walking from the 'T' station based on another review, but the shuttle came quickly to come get a bunch of us waiting at the 'T' station. The hotel was quite far from the 'T' station. I would not recommend walking, since the "streets" were mainly sidewalks along airport highways. The hotel shuttle is available to bring you back and forth to the airport and 'T' station.

Embassy @ the airport

We spent the last 3 nights we were in BOS @ the Embassy Suites & were delighted. The suite was very large & fairly new. The facilities were fabulous as were the happy hour (but no alcoholic beverages) & the large breakfasts.
The hotel was about a 7 or 8 minutes walk to the Airport T station, although the staff was not very helpful in locating it. It's down a path which runs by a soccer field & was very easy to use after the 1st time.
It was so convenient getting around via T & not worrying about a car. In addition, I thought the hotel might be noisy due to planes flying overhead, but the hotel must be well insulated because we rarely heard a thing.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to families. My kids enjoyed having their own TV & so did their parents!

Okay, Some Pitfalls

I had to respond to the all-or-nothing reviews I see here. The hotel is just fine, especially since you need something like Embassy Suites if you're traveling with children. We stayed four nights over the Independence Day Holiday.

There are some pitfalls to watch for.

1. The hotel is isolated. You have to take the T to get anywhere.

2. This is not your normal Embassy Suites. It looks like they took over an old hotel and remodeled.

3. No one has a sense of temperature. Air conditioning runs full blast day and night. The pool is too cold. You can cook pasta in the jacuzzi.

On the other hand, the staff is friendly and the shuttle drivers are great. Usual good breakfast, but the afternoon snack left a lot to be desired.

Concerning the walk to the T station, it's not far and is plenty safe during the day. Absolutely do not try to walk the route at night, however. Shuttle ride sometimes means a swing to an airport terminal to drop someone off/pick someone up.

We would stay there again. Just keep these issues in mind.

Stayed there one night before taking a flight back to Atlanta. Very clean, very quiet. Nice beds, nice bathroom. Staff was pleasant. Free breakfast was great - they even had the cereal I eat; the first time I have found it in a restaurant. My husband had made-to-order eggs (they also offer pancakes, french toast, and waffles!) Very convenient to the airport (and to Avis, if you rent a car. We walked to the hotel after dropping our car at Avis). The shuttle service was efficient. We will definitely stay there again.

Top Local Tips for Boston

Must for shopping!! Filene's basement in Downtown Crossing. Coming from australia i could not believe the price of the designer clothes at this place!!! You have to rummage a little but worth it!

Prudential Skywalk This was my 4th trip to Boston, first time to visit the Prudential Center Skywalk. Totally agree with guidebooks; this is a MUST SEE! Recommend putting it first as you get fabulous pverview of the Boston area. Gives you great orientation so that if you take trolley or walking tour you have a better idea of where you are, etc.

Using a debit card If you want to use your UK debit card, call it a credit card. If you try to use it as a debit card it wont work.
