Staff was unhelpful, unresponsive and even rude at times. Not knowledgeable about restaurants or much of anything. Rooms are overpriced and dark. Avoid this hotel!

Nothing Special Here...better options nearby

from NewportRICouple
This hotel offered nothing special, and for the price there are much better hotels in the area, such as the Westin across the street, or the Lenox one block away. This is an OLD hotel that has been renovated, but still nothing special. Disappointed.

Exceptional !

from RosieTravel
What a delight - an exquisitely refurbished hotel with exceptional service by absolutely everyone on staff. There is no other place we have found like this in Boston. We will certainly stay there again. Special thanks to Buck Esguerra and his staff for making us feel so very welcome, tending to our every need - faxes, postage, outgoing mail, recommending great local restaurants (including Buck's favourite and ours too - Pho Pasteur in Chinatown) etc etc. Everything handled so efficiently, effectively and always with a big warm smile. Enjoyed our three night stay so much, hated to leave!

Hotel made great improvements!

from Boston23Boston
My fiance and I needed a hotel to stay at for a weekend wedding, and this was the perfect place. They recently renovated the hotel, and the changes they've made made a huge improvement. The people were very friendly and polite. You can tell they really make an effort to be very pleasant and helpful. The hotel service overall was great, and the room was very nice as well. Overall, this is a great hotel to stay at in the Back Bay, and we look forward to staying there again.

Excellent Contemporary Hotel - Great Stay

from tupperl
From the moment we arrived until the time we departed, the staff was very friendly and courteous. Check-in and out were handled efficiently. We were upgraded to an "edge room" allowing a view on all sides of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with a great flat screen TV. Located right in the heart of Back Bay, within walking distance to the Prudential Center, Newbury Street and numerous bars and restaurants. The hotel assisted us in securing tickets to the Theater. Although no full service restaurant, there is a bar located in the same building that served great drinks, and in the morning we were treated to a complimentary continental breakfast.

Beautifully newly renovated chic hotel, outstanding service!

from happytraveler9999
We recently stayed at the newly renovated Copley Square hotel located in the Back Bay area of Boston and our expectations were surpassed. This hip hotel is close to shopping and outstanding dinning. The renovation of this landmark hotel is a beautiful blend of historical details and modern decor. Above all the service at this hotel was outstanding, from the valet parking, to check in, concierge, wait staff and check out. This hotel is the place to stay in Boston! We look forward to our next trip there.

100% Satisfied!

from Lolo2699
My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend getaway to Boston for President's day weekend and stayed at the Copley Square hotel based off of the few reviews we had read and the great rate we got on hotels.com. I believe the rate was a "preview rate" since the hotel is just reopening after renovations, so that made it especially appealing to us.

Everything about the hotel was great. The property, the rooms, and the bathrooms were immaculate - it was all brand new. The beds were amazing - reminded me of the heavenly beds at the Westin. What we liked best about the hotel was the staff. They were friendly, responded to our many requests quickly, and took care in all of the details. One of the nights we stayed was valentine's day and when we came into our room that night after dinner, the hotel had put a red rose on our pillow.

I would absolutely stay again if the price wasn't tooooo far above what we paid for this visit.

Updated...Upgraded...Perfect

from salesmomnj
I had the pleasure of staying overnight at the newly renovated Copley Square Hotel in Boston.

The new decor, furniture and ambiance can be described as "beautiful boutique". The staff was attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. There was nothing missing from this experience.

The location is wonderful, a very brief walk from the Prudential and Copley Centers with lots of shopping. An added plus is a great Shaw's market next door - should any needs arise. Easy cab rides from all other areas of the city make it a perfect choice. Do a little research on their night life - this is not my area of expertise but the "minibar" and Saint Nightclub look very nice and inviting.

As a regional salesperson who spends lots of nights in hotel rooms, I would absolutely stay there again and am happy to give it a great review.

A Must Stay

from bkellypt
What an experience. From the curb to the room this hotel was top of the class. Friendly, knowledgeable and courteous staff, beautiful new upgrades (17 million dollars worth), and an atmosphere that was modern, classy and relaxed. Hard to put into words how great this "new" hotel is. You just have to experience it. I enjoy Boston as a getaway, and I wont stay anywhere else now.

Perfect location, love the wine hour, great services, and nice room

from MindWideOpen
What I like the best about the hotel is its location, which is within short walking distance to shopping and top restaurants. Second best is the complementary wine hour which offers pretty decent quality wine. The hotel emphasizes “intuitive” services which I found comparable to the Mandarin Oriental nearby. Offers free Wi-Fi in the room and throughout the hotel. Hotel is newly renovated and reopened on December 31 2008. Rooms have bold design, beautiful drapery, trendy décor but perfectly comfortable. I prefer the rooms with the bay window. The only downside is that the room can be on the small size, especially the bathroom. But it has everything a traveler needs.

Beautiful Renovations!

from iliketotravel084
My girlfriends and I were celebrating a birthday weekend and we stayed at this hotel the weekend of Jan. 9-11, 2009. The hotel had just re-opened on Jan. 8th after a 17 Million dollar renovation to the property. The hotel has a very European "boutique" feel the interior design is contemporary. The rooms were modest with gorgeous bathrooms (all newly renovated) soft, plush towels and extremely comfortable beds. The staff was extremely courteous every time we stepped into a public area. The restaurant was not fully up and running, but we were given a continental breakfast with juice and coffee every morning. There was a complimentary wine hour from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the hotel lobby and the hotel bar called “mini bar” had lots of fun cocktails and snacks and was full of patrons. The staff at Mini Bar was friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The location of the hotel is great, a 10 minute walk from Back Bay Train station and directly across the street from the Copley Square shopping area and 1-block from Newbury Street. A great retreat for anyone looking for a fun, inexpensive getaway or celebrating a special occasion like a weekend w/ the girlfriends.

Top Local Tips for Boston

MIT Museum & Salem I am not a science/computer geek or anything like that - but this was a highlight for me (a female traveller on their own looking for a bit of culture and history). I think it would be great for kids, but it's also a good little interactive introduction to the world of robots, artifical intelligence and also the history of the university. I also took a day trp on the train to Salem, very handy and only $7.50 return. I didn't really go in for the witch history stuff, but the Peabody Essex Museum and House of 7 Gables were interesting and it was nice to see somewhere outside of just Boston. There's some lovely houses, shops and it's just good for a quiet little wander around.

Don't drive in Boston! From this hotel, you can literally walk everywhere! Some places (North End, for example) may be a bit of a walk (20-30 mins), but you can hop on the T nearby to get anywhere. If you drive, park the car somewhere and leave it til the end of your stay! The T is awesome, and the best way to see and feel Boston is on foot.

puplic transportation Boston is a lovely city with plenty to do and see for a short 3-4 day visit, most things are within walking distance and if not the subway system is easy to use (buy a Charlie Card) When we went in February though the temperature on some days was as low as -3 degrees and very cold.
