Forget to clean room????

The hotel in general was clean, nicely furnished and most of the time quiet. One evening after returning from my meeting, I found that housekeeping just simply forgot to do my room. I got "sorry for the inconvenience." It was not inconvenient but I was upset that the room was not cleaned. I used the laundry service they offered. I was charged $11.00 to clean a tee shirt that was listed as $3.00 charge. The hotel clerk said he could do nothing about it. You better believe I will write a letter to the hotel manager and the laundry service...beware... you will be ripped off.

Nice Hotel, Bad Service

This is a nice hotel, rooms are nice, location is great. However, the service is lacking. Bellman, Front Desk and operator service at Front Desk were the worst I have ever experienced. However, housekeeping was good. I will not be returning which is a shame because I liked the hotel.

Great place to stay

Great hotel near everything. My girlfriend and I just got back from a 3 night stay and for the price and location this is an excellent hotel.
Near the Fleet Center, North End, Charles River, Duck Tours, Fanuelli Hall, etc... Everything in Boston is walking distance (at least for us). Excellent Hotel.

I had to travel to Boston on last minute business and remember someone had told me to stay at the Bulfinch. So sleek, crisp and clean. The rooms are small but warm and wonderful. The staff is just amazing!!! I will return on my next trip to Boston.

Great hotel

We stayed at the Bulfinch Clarion from May 20th to the 27th. It was by far better than we had ever expected. The rooms were not huge but it had a very boutique feel to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean, new and very quiet. We rarely heard any noise outside our room. Location was great. $7 dollar cab ride to virtually anywhere downtown. We mostly walked everywhere. Boston is a great city for walking. This hotel was 2 blocks from the Fleet Center and 3 blocks from the Subway, Quincy Market, Cheers, etc. The restaurant in the hotel was not yet open but The Anthem Restaurant 2 blocks away had some of the best food we had tasted in Boston. We will definately stay here when we return! Overall Very Very pleased!

This is the NICEST hotel I've ever stayed in. I loved itl. The room was immaculate, and so was the bathroom. Everything looks new! Unfortunately the bedding had some small stains on it, which kind of creeped me out, I'm hoping it was red wine and not blood or something because that would be really gross. It was OBVIOUSLY WASHED, but it's just the thought that is creepy. The bed was quite comfortable and the pillows were awesome, too.
The staff was friendly, and somewhat helpful (I think they just memorize places to recommend going to because no-one could tell us where a good Vegetarian restaurant was- it seemed very rehearsed for tourists. You know the fanny-pack kind of tourists).
The location is pretty central, but not too central- if you're looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway within a city, this is the place to go because it's a 5 minute walk from a lot of great shopping and some good restaurants (I highly recommend Houstons) and the theatre district & there are tons of T stops nearby.

A great surprise!

A friend in Boston told me about the Bulfinch. I needed to use the North Station to get into Wilmington. The location was great for me. There was a lot of construction around the hotel. I was able to get around town easily by cab and the comuter rail. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The room was so nice, I appreciate nice sheets and comforters. It has all been updated. Very interesting space. I got a spring time rate by calling the hotel direct, 159.00 a night. I would stay there again.

Just stayed to run in the Boston Marathon, had a great room, very quiet and had to be the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. Staff was gracious and extremely helpful. Will be back again next year.

My fiance & I stayed at the Bulfinch Hotel on Merrimac Ave in Boston to attend a Celtics game at the Fleet Center. We were very pleased with this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly. The person who checked us into the hotel smiled & made small talk with us during the process, and once in our room we were greeted by another employee who offered us a Bulfinch Hotel tin of mints and a little pocket-sized notebook & pen holder, I always love freebies! The hotel must be freshly remodeled, you could still faintly smell the paint & new carpeting. The bed was SO comfortable, and the room was large enough to feel cozy, but not cramped. The shower was great, lots of water pressure, and the whole room was immaculately clean. They had homey touches, like lots of pillows on the bed and a nice throw blanket. As far as night life & dining options there are many cool bars & restaurants well within walking distance of the hotel, as far as I could tell they did not yet have the hotel restaurant/lounge open, and they were not yet offering room service. Very conveniently located near the North Station & Fleet Center, it was the perfect place to stay for the game, we will be returning next season for another overnight stay.

Although quite new to the scene in Boston, this is a hotel with a lot of character. The staff here were so attentive and I've never found such a friendly lot in all my visits to Boston.....and that says a lot!

Will be back again next November and I'm already looking forward to heading out to the nearby Anthem restaurant....another great suggestion from the staff of the Bulfinch.

Great location
The Bulfinch was a clean hotel. We stayed there for five days, it was quiet and comfortable. The room was small, on the size of European hotels. The concierge was very helpful and friendly. The only problem we had was the first night the shower did not work. The front desk had it fixed by the time we came back from dinner.
Over all a good value for Boston. I paid $116.00 @ night on Orbiz. Price line would be less but risk if you cancel for unforeseen events.

Red Sox Tickets, Day of Game A few Red Sox tickets go on sale (for face value) at the Fenway Park gate on Lansdowne 2 hours before the game, apparently about 200 tickets per game, for areas scattered all over the park (we got tickets for the 8th row behind home plate!). After purchasing your ticket you are required to enter the park directly (ie no scalpers in line). The lineup for these tickets is "allowed" to start 4 or 6 hours before the tickets go on sale (ie 6 or 8 hours before the game). About 2 or 3 hours before the tickets go on sale Fenway staff start going through the line giving everyone in line a "pre-ticket" to allow them to purchase a single ticket (ie you can't save a spot in line for your 10 closest friends who all appear 10 minutes before the tickets go on sale).It's a brilliant system that allows people like me, with short notice for vacation dates to travel, to still get great seats for the games without having to fund the burgeoning business in ticket scalping.
