Cute, Quiet, Right in the Heart of Everything

I travel on business and found this hotel to be absolutely precious. Nice people and great location. Prepare yourself though...rooms are slightly small. I'd stay there again! Loved it.

Old-Style Comfort

As Europeans we were attracted by the 'European-sized' bedrooms at much more reasonable prices than the typical 'bed in a ballroom' American hotel-room. We liked the Dining Room with its dark, elegant panelling and paintings, the attentive service and the great breakfasts. Most of all, it is so CENTRAL for exploring on foot. Don't bring an automobile to the Omni Parker House - you won't need it!

I have no problem giving Boston's Omni Parker House Hotel the highest of ratings. I was in an affordable first class hotel with old world charm. Great rooms, great service and in the heart of the city. When in Boston, I will stay there again.

Convenient and quiet

Rehab has been underway for a few years and the hotel is quiet and clean. It is usually an excellent buy (via web @ approximately $100) for rooms in downtown Boston. Very nice restaurant. The casual bar/lounge needs work - it's loud and uncomfortable and the continuing blaring of TV sports is too much even for Boston.

Small but wonderfully appointed

I took my mother there just before Christmas. While the room was small it was wonderfully appointed (We also got a very good rate). The desk was very helpful and we were able to check in a bit earlier. Excellent location and service - we were able to take the T to the airport saving a substantial taxi fare and of course we could walk everywhere. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Great location, but ...

Staff and concierge were great. But we had 2 disappointments on our July 17, 2003 stay. We booked on Hotels.com and were promised a 2 bed room. When we checked in we were advised it was booked as a single bed room. Staff tried to honor our request, but couldn't. The Boston Chamber of Commerce sent a discount card valid for meals at this hotel.
But when we presnted it after breakfast we were informed it is only valid for dinner.

My recent stay at Omni Parker House was pleasant. I was disappointed to find out that this four star hotel did not have down comforters. The fitness center was one of the best I have seen in Boston. One piece of advice If your looking for a good, sit down breakfast, eat at the Omni Parker House. Dont bother looking for a place to eat that is open for breakfast on the weekend.

We visited this summer and were very well treated by all the staff. We walked over to Fenway Park and our daughter enjoyed being so close to go to the Public Gardens to see the ducks and the swan boats. It was relaxing to be in a wonderful location that we could see everything without having to walk for ever. We could take little breaks back at the hotel and not have to go out all day being so close to all the sites. Beautiful hotel and we loved the Breakfast in the restaurant. We will visit again on our next trip to Boston for a short get away.

The location of the Omni Parker House is perfect. Step outside the doors and you're on the Freedom Trail. 5 minute walk to Quincy Market, 5 minute walk to the Boston Commons, T-stops everywhere... I can't imagine a more ideally located hotel in Boston. Plus it's a very nice hotel. Obviously a hot spot for tourists as well as locals (the lobby bar was packed with the after-work crowd during the week). The hotel refers to their rooms as "European", which of course means tiny.
Request a large room when you book.

History and Location Win Out over Luxury.

There are plenty of shops and places to eat within walking distance.
The Harbor, Cheers (from the television show), the Swan Pond, the Frog Pond, Trinity Church, John Hancock building , and many other sites of interest are all within walking distance.

Fenway Park is an $8 cab ride away.

On Sunday, there was a free concert a few blocks to the north of us, and a Shakespeare festival in the park to the south.

My wife and daughter had a grand time, while I drove three of the four days to Loudon, NH (90 miles each way) to photograph that weekend's NASCAR race.

The valets were extremely friendly, and actually remembered me each day (although I was carrying 40 lbs of photo equipment I guess). Even though the ticket states that it takes 25 minutes to get the car, it was always there before I was. Jason, was a nice young man.

Thomas, the concierge recommended the trolley for us, and we were extremely happy with his pick. It stops a short walk from the hotel. He sold us the tickets and we were able to get on and off all day (until 5 pm) as much as we desired.

The room was average, a small sink area in the bath, and one small window view facing the north. The beds were not the most comfortable I have every slept in, but they got us by. The television was small. At this hotel, you apparently pay for location and history. The lobby is elegant, but remember that this hotel is old.

We didn't eat at the hotel ($35 for a pie seemed a tad high), so I can't recommend the dining, but the room and stay were fine, if not pleasant.

I would recommend the hotel, so long as you realize that you are not getting luxury for your double room.

stayed at both lenox and omni parker when in Boston last week. OMP good location for shoppers and the north end italian restaurants. staff friendly and efficient, but the rooms can be pokey and dark. lenox rooms bigger and brighter...

If you want a nice, clean up to date hotel, don't stay here...it is VERY dated...if you are going for history, ok-- but for a nice classy, pretty hotel, this is not this place.....

Our family of five had a fabulous visit at the Omni. The location is ideal and the staff incredibly friendly. The treats ordered by Boston-area friends and awaiting us in our room were top notch. The concierge could have been a bit more informed and creative. Great health club.

The Omni Parker House Hotel is in an excellent location for those visiting Boston for the first time. The location makes it easy for newcomers to manuver through the four different subway lines that run through Boston. (They all intersect within walking distance from the hotel!) We visited in the beginning of March, 2003. The rooms are great, very clean - ours had an excellent view (although the room was on the small side and not as lavishly decorated as the lobby, but who cares? It was comfortable enough and quiet). We had no problems with noise or snooty employees, in fact, the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. We felt warmly welcomed and well looked after. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Top Local Tips for Boston

Take the T or walk Boston is true to its reputation - you pretty much don't want to drive unless you absolutely have to. Luckily it's a walkable city. Wander the Freedom Trail, go to the North End, the Waterfront, the Back Bay - you can walk or take public transportation everywhere.

MBTA Leave your car at a station outside the city and take the T in - you don't have to worry about parking and it's SO much easier.
