My husband and I stayed at Fox Inn for 2 nights. The service at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and rather large. The wireless in the room was a great bonus. There is also a great Italian restaurant 5 minutes away for a great romantic dinner. We would definitely go back. :)

I stayed over at this place when I came to Mass to play golf with a couple of buddies. The Crumplin Fox Golf Course is literally 5 minutes away. The rates are very affordable and the service is friendly.

The pics on the internet were not what the place looks like by a long shot. The room had a TV that was about twenty years old, and the hotel rooms hadn't been updated in about that long as well. When I inquired at the front desk the girl asked if the room was dirty because of how upset I was, I said no but it was not the pictures that were showed on line and she said she knew and didnt know why they had those because none of their rooms looked like that. We didn't even end up staying because we were so upset and mad, they ruined our romantic weekend.

There was in fact a working wifi network. Unfortunately, there was no working cable, dsl or dish attached to the wifi... and thus no internet service! When I inquired at the front office, I was told that it hadn't worked in a long time.
In addition, the motel charged $130 per night double occupancy, rather than the promised $76.
Finally, someone had removed switches which once made it possible to turn on the heat lamp in the bathrooms... in our room and a friend's room... presumably to keep electricity costs down.
All in all, a very disappointing experience.

I just double-checked the information I reported earlier today. The $130 or $135 price I quoted was for two nights, not one. So the price we got was better than the advertised price, and I cannot complain about that.
It was just the unavailability of the advertised internet service that really disappointed.

Great location, the Fox Inn's decor may be on the older side, but the rooms were very clean and well kept. They were also very large. The maid service and front desk were pleasant and the grounds were beautiful. I thought it was funny that I totally agreed with the other reviewer about the pitch black of the room. While I sleep in hotels more than 75 nights a year, and often complain about light shining in--this was the ultimate in pitch black!! The price was right and I would definitely go back in the future.
The Fox Inn, a good deal in Western Mass

My husband and I recently stayed at The Fox Inn in Bernardston, MA and were pleasantly surprised. The room we had was clean and spacious and at $68.00 per night we felt it was a bargain. It was conveniently located near I91, The Crumpin Fox Golf course, and Northfield Mount Hermon School. There were a few things lacking which we shall remember to bring when we return in the future, a nightlight as the room is pitch black at night, some shampoo as soap is provided but not shampoo, and a lighted alarm clock.
