I actually work for the Baltimore Tremont. I haven't worked for them for a long time, and already I feel like family. They Treat their employees as well as the guest. The guest always seem happy. I wouldn't trade the job in for anything.

A classy hotel for small price

My fiance and I stayed at the Tremont Plaza Hotel for 3 nights during New Years 2005. The hotel definitely lived up to the reviews and very much resembled the pictures we saw online. We were in a pretty niced sized room on the 11th floor that offered us a great view of the fireworks. The staff was curteous, friendly and helpful and the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the waterfront attractions. Overall, we got a high class hotel for a low price, only $79/night!

The hotel itself has nice clean rooms. The staff was satisfactory in helping guests. The food at the restaurant was good. The location of the hotel is a bit scary. Its not in the best part of town. I remember walking to a convenience store to get some snacks and I felt unsafe b/c of some of the characters walking the streets. I am from NYC too so I do not scare easily.

A fanrastic room overlooking all to be seen. Employees, from valet, to front desk, to room service were outstanding. This is not to leave out their courtesy shuttle. **** Will certainly return if in Baltimore Area.

Excellent service for a small group meeting. Wonderful Staff. Rooms are beautiful. Nice urban views of the City. Short walk to the Inner Harbor and Charles Street Shops. Rooms are larger than average for a hotel. Safe location. Wonderful deli. In the heart of the Business District. Meets Government perdiem rates.

I booked a room at a Balitmore-area Bed and Breakfast, and as soon as I checked in, I realized for multiple reasons that I had made a serious mistake and this B&B was going to be a disaster. I quickly searched TripAdivsor for reasonably-priced alternatives, and came across the Tremont Plaza. I went there immediately, asked if any rooms were available, and was very pleased to be quoted a rate that was even slightly less than what was listed on Expedia. The room itself was excellent -- spacious, clean, comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located downtown; the staff is friendly; and there was Internet access in my room. I look forward to staying there again on future business trips to Baltimore.

Nice big room. Couch, table and 4 chairs and seperate bedrooms. They had a seperate kitchenette area with the biggest hotel fridge I've ever seen along with a microwave.

The Tugs breakfast buffet left a bit to be desired $13 - just omlettes, french toast and sausage & bacon and they even charged you extra for beverages.

The walk to the harbor wan't bad at all - 10 minutes - which we had to do almost every time since we could never seem to catch the shuttle although we did happen to see it pulling away a couple of times.

We booked through Expedia which had the best deal (avg $155/nt). Overall a great deal and everybody on the trip would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Avoid breakfast at Tugs

Tremont Plaza was an adequate hotel but the restaurant service @ Tugs for breakfast was nonexistant. No hostess service, waitress never came to the table. Hotel did make it up to us for room service, which was good. Excellent mayland crab soup!! Room was adequate. Have to walk a few blocks to the inner harbor but that wasn't a big deal. Parking was $13 per day @ the garage next door. Deli next door was good in the food area but service was sporadic.

Great if you need extra space.

We stayed in a 1 bdrm suite 8/17-18 ($149/night on Expedia). The room was certainly nothing fancy but it was very large and clean. The kitchen had a decent sized refrig and microwave so we were able to bring some meals and save money. The courtesy shuttle never seemed to be available when we needed it but the bellman got us a taxi within seconds and it was a $3-$5 cab ride wherever we wanted to go (Camden Yards, Inner Harbor). We also walked to the Aquarium; probably 15 minutes. The walk back is uphill but not too bad (even pushing strollers). The self-park lot next door wasn't too expensive ($13/day I think). The staff was courteous, the pool was small but adequate, the deli made great sandwiches.

Went for a Sat&Sun night stay. We were able to valet & check in 3 hours early. Stayed in a studio suite--more than enough room for a couple.
The walk to the Inner Harbor & Camden yards was no more than 10 minutes. Well worth not having to pay $250 a night down at the Harbor.
The $15 Sunday brunch was worth it. Not a huge selection, but sufficient.
After check-out, they held our luggage & car for 3 hours at no add'l cost.
Staff was very pleasant.
No complaints.

Staff was superb, 1 bed suite was sufficient and what I had expected, very clean environment.
I used valet, drove to harbor, so sure its a longer walk, but big deal.

It was old, the service was good! No High speed internet and the local calls for internet will eat your lunch! Parking is HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE!

Nice place, but you must WALK to inner harbor

The service was very good, the rooms were quite large and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was average. Its a bit of a walk to Camden Yard and the Inner Harbor, but certainly do-able (probably 10 -15 minute walk). Had I not had a broken foot at the time I don't think I would have minded the walk as much. The bathrooms could use some updating, and the pool is just OK.

Great service at the Tramont Plaza

My husband and I and our 2 friends spent a great weekend in Baltimore July 8 - 11. The Tremont Plaza is in a terrific location, only 6 blocks from the Inner Harbor and only 1 block off of Charles Street. The rooms at the Tremont Plaza are huge and very comfortable. The bellman also will drive you to and from some of the local attractions. We definitely used their services after closing the Piano Bar at Phillips on the Inner Harbor! The staff at the Tremont was quick to respond to any request. I would definitely stay there again!

My boyfriend and I stayed one night while on a road trip visiting baseball parks. The hotel was a short walk to the beautiful Camden Yards. The Suite was large, nicely decorated, and very clean. It had a kitchen, dining room, living room (with a TV, desk, and couch). The bedroom was large, also with a TV and a nice view. The pool was quite small and the hotel restaurant did not offer much of a selection and was overpriced. We would have been better off visiting the hotel deli which had convenient hours and fresh food. The room was so great that we would definitely stay again we will just have dinner somewhere else.

Top Local Tips for Baltimore

Late Night Dining in Baltimore Sabatino's in Little Italy. Fabulous garlic bread and Bookmaker Salad -- open until 3 AM. Papermoon Diner - Veg-friendly, wacky art, breakfast all day, open 24 hours.

The Charles - a restored gem! The Charles cinema, near Penn Station on Charles St Nth, is a beautiful old movie theater. They play recently released movies. It retains a lot of it's old-time charm, right down to the 'Let's All Go To The Lobby' ads before the feature. It's about a 40 minute walk from downtown, or a $6 cab ride.

Go to the Rusty Scupper for a great, romantic dinner! You can either catch the shuttle or take a $7 cab ride from the hotel to the Rusty Scupper, which is on the opposite side of the Harbor. Incredible food - the crabcakes are head and shoulders above Phillips and other pretenders to the throne - great wine list, and we were seated next to the window so we enjoyed a beautiful view of the skyline by night. Great winelist, and the server was prompt and knowledgeable. The portions were good, and we were too stuffed to order dessert!
