The best of Baltimore!

My husband and I stayed here one night last week. After reading the reviews, I was excited to see how the hotel measured up. It was fantastic! The rooms are beautifully furnished in such a way to maintain the historic feel of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Baltimore. We can't wait to return!

Best Hotel We Have Ever Stayed In!

We stayed at the hotel for two wonderful days. The rooms are elegantly furnished and the staff were fully attentive whenever we needed them.

The feel of this hotel from the minute you approch the elegant and historic building is that is a very high class establishment, worthy of a least 3 or more stars.

We stayed in a beautiful harbourview room with luxurious and comfortable queen-sized beds. The complimentary breakfast was divine and was just the right way to begin our days.

We just can't say enough good things about this great place stay, we thoroughly recommend it for others to experience

Great Hotel on the Harbor...

Spent Christmas Day there with my girlfriend several weeks ago. We opened gifts in the room while looking out onto the harbor on a very pretty winter day. The place feels more like a bed and breakfast than your traditional hotel. Very comfortable, warm environment. I went based on the reviews I read here, and I agree...this hotel really is a hidden jem.

Heading back soon.

For the money you cannot beat this place. Our room was 15ft from the waters edge. Fantastic view and location was great. Fells point is perfect and is just 2 minutes walk to inner harbour. The room itself was fit for a king.

Perfect pick for our Xmas weekend

Being an executive in the hospitality industry I do not give out exceptional reviews lightly, however, the Inn at Henderson's Wharf exceeded in service on all levels. My husband I and were attending a family reunion in the Baltimore area the day after Xmas. Considering that we had a 3 hr drive it was necessary to make arrangements in Baltimore for 2 nights. When I called the Inn directly I was greeted by a very helpful and enthusiastic employee by the name of Kelly. She explained the details of the Inn as though it was her own establishment. It was obvious that she was proud of the property. After her heartfelt description she shared with me how much she loved working there. My first impression was that management had a gem of an employee and obviously did a great job recruiting their staff. She also told me that check-in was 3PM, however, since it was Xmas we would probably want to come earlier and are certainly welcome to do so. Kelly had made quite an impression since I did not inquire about early check-in. Her focus was insure that we had a great experience. I am delighted to say upon arrival it was an outstanding experience from check-in to check-out. The Inn is located on the harbor in Fells Point. The neighborhood is charming and parking is provided a few steps from the door. The lobby decor and furnishings are comfortable yet elegant. The rooms are furnished with Drexel Heritage furniture along with a plasma screen TV and a very comfortable bed. The room and bath were spotless. Fresh orchids on the bath vanity added to the ambience. A delicious continental breakfast is offered in the morning. A varied selection of fresh fruit, berries, yogurt, granola, hard boiled eggs, fresh baked pastries, juice, coffee, tea are fully stocked and the area kept very clean throughout the breakfast hours. Considering my background I can't help but watch every movement of the staff. Every employee from the front desk to the guest room attendants were friendly, well groomed and efficient. Upon our departure the staff was geniunely interested in how we enjoyed our stay and gave us a warm farewell. We'll look forward to spending another weekend at the Inn at Henderson's Wharf very shortly!

Wow -- that's what we kept saying the whole time. Gorgeous rooms & view. The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Friendly, accomodating staff, and delicious breakfast. We started dreaming about what it would be like to live there and asked about the apartments. A little pricey, but not much higher than the average, considering the free parking and breakfast. Just don't get overly intimate on a harbor side room without closing the blinds!

Great Inn

Fells Point was the a great area in Baltimore and the Inn was exceptional. Fresh orchids in your room and all the trimmings. Being right on the wharf was great during daylight, but a little eerie after dark when people walked right in front of your windows, though. I would prefer a down comforter to a down mattress cover.
Breakfast - the fruits were so fresh you thought you were in Florida.

I decided I wanted to spend my birthday at Inner Harbor and Fells Point. I had stayed at the Pier 5 during a prior vist but knew I usually end my evenings in Fells Point. It made more sense for me to look for accommodations there. After an internet review of various hotels at Inner Harbor and Fells Point, I decided to try the Inn at Henderson's Wharf. Boy was I glad I did. I knew I wanted a quiet place to sleep after carousing at Fells Point and Inner Harbor. The Inn did not disappoint. The rooms were beautiful, either facing the wharf or the lovely courtyard. The beds were the most comfortable I've slept in at any hotel. They were roomy and well appointed comnplete with a plasma TV. Parking was a breeze with their private parking lot. The service was impeccable. The continental breakfast served each morning was a pleasant surprise. Even though I assume the Inn lacks kitchen facilities, the breakfast had something for everyone. The folks at the front desk should be commended for their customer service. They were cheerful, helpful and great tips on where to go in Baltimore. I will definitely come back again.

My parents, sister and I stayed at the Inn at Henderson's Wharf from Oct 12-17, 2004. We were looking for a quiet place to recoup after my dad had surgery at Johns Hopkins, and the Inn was just what the doctor ordered.

We stayed in Room 125 -- a spacious room with two queen beds that faced the water. Every morning we woke refereshed, having slept on the most comfortable beds of any hotel in which I have stayed. The linens were freshly laundered and of a high thread count. Even the comforters were up to par, and they were actually fresh enough to use.

My dad was happy to find that they have the DISH Network, and he was able to watch all the golf, football and baseball known to mankind. I think they have like 200 channels. Having a cordless phone as the room phone was just one more thoughtful addition of the Inn.

The two chairs in the small seating area of the room were well cared for and very comfortable. The desk was a nice size for getting last minute things done for work.

There is a business center in the hotel, but it seemed to consist of one computer and a fax/printer/copier combo. The Internet connection was down a couple of the days we were there, but we were able to manage without it. There is also a gym in the Inn, but we did not use it. It looked nice though.

The continental breakfast was just what we needed and was included in the price of the rooms. There was fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, and the like. Fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate were available in the lobby 24/7.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were always available to suggest a good restaurant or to call a cab. The housekeeping staff was truly wonderful. Our room (and bathroom!) was always spotless after they cleaned.

There is free parking in a secure parking lot available to guests of the Inn. Since Fells Point is an area where it can be tough to find parking, this was really a great bonus for us.

The Inn is quiet. There were no children or loud guests when we stayed, and it was truly wonderful. I am not sure if they do not accept children or if we just got lucky. We needed some serious R&R, and that is what we got.

The Inn is located at the end of Fell Street in the Fells Point Area of Baltimore. It is about a 5 minute cab ride to Johns Hopkins hospital. The Inn is away from all the Inner Harbor attractions so it is not a busy hotel. It was, however, booked solid a few nights while we were there. We never would have known they were booked except that we heard one of the staff members at the front desk calling to see if there was availablity at other hotels. It's just that quiet and relaxed -- even at breakfast time.

The Inn at Henderson's Wharf was wonderful. If we ever need to stay in Baltimore again, they will be our first call.

Absolutely a dream come true

We stayed at the Inn at Henderson's Wharf July 19-21st. I can't say enough wonderful things about the place. The staff were most helpful, welcoming, and friendly. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. The woodwork is hand crafted and of the highest quality. The breakfasts were delicious - and included fresh fruit (melon, pineapple, strawberries. blackberries), fresh pastries, yoghurt, juice, coffee, tea, and cereal. The inn is away from the main part of town and is quiet and peaceful. The garden is beautiful. How many hotels have free computer usage with high speed internet, fax machine and copier? This one does! Thank goodness they recovered from the damage caused by Hurricane Isabel. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Baltimore - and I can't imagine better service anywhere.

Top Local Tips for Baltimore

Maryland Science Center If you plan to go to the Maryland Science Center call and buy your entrance tickets ahead of time; just pick them up at the Will Call desk. The earlier you get there the shorter the lines. We had tickets for the 10 o'clock IMAX and the theater was half full. There was no wait to see the Human Body exhibit. When we left at 2:45 the line was out the door and to the water's edge. Harbor Place has a lot of food vendors, a good place for a late lunch.
