A Bit Disappointed

from lmr1206
We were so excited to stay at the Brookshire Suites and were a bit disappointed....

The staff was fabulous and service was good, however, the room was not nearly as nice as we had hoped. The carpeting was thread-bare, and the kitchen areat had the look of an area that hadn't been updated in many. many years. The bed was comfortable, the room clean--just in need of some attention!

Black Bathtub Magic, not Harbor Magic

from A TripAdvisor Member
We recently stayed two nights in the Brookshire Suites for a wedding. The hotel needs a good cleaning- there just wasn't any excuse for a moldy bathtub. The bed was hard, the ceilings were low, the ironing board was broken and $25 for parking. The only plus was the location and Aveda products in the bathroom. We would not stay there again.

not nearly nice as I was expecting...

I had similar problems to those others have accounted here when I stayed at the Brookshire. The room was rather dingy, the check out service was atrocious, and while I was eating the complimentary breakfast, the ceiling leaked on me. Not a hotel I'd recommend to anyone.

Horrible Experience

from A TripAdvisor Member
Everything seemed great when I arrived at the hotel during the Otakon 2004 convention. The staff was very friendly and professional. Checking out was another story. I woke up to find an invoice slipped under my door showing that my friend and I owed $200 more than what we had booked the room online for. When I presented the issue to the head manager, he told me that the online booking was: "completely separate from in-house booking," and that I would have to provide him with proof that I had booked the room at the price I did. Then, after much toil, I was directed to the "courtesy computer" in the breakfast area at which time I had to dig around the Internet, using a syrup covered mouse and keyboard, searching for my online receipt. After I was unsuccessful, I spent nearly 2 more hours in the staff office looking for the same receipt. Despite the fact that I had located the online confirmation number, the manager still wanted a full computer printout. In the end, I was able to e-mail the bill after I returned home and they resolved the issue promptly. So please, if you must stay here, DO NOT use online booking.

Great Location and Service

from jandlsnorks
We spent last weekend at the Inner Harbor, and booked one night's stay at Brookshire Suites on hotels. Got a great rate--$80.00/night ($98.50 with taxes/fees) by booking it as a 14 day advanced purchase. Was very pleasantly surprised on our arrival. We parked right across the street from the hotel in a self-park garage (called Arrow Garage, located on Lombard Street right before the hotel entrance), and it was only $12.00 for 24 hours.

The hotel's valet service charges $25. Upon check-in, Andrea the front desk clerk, couldn't have been more polite for professional. This hotel is one of three in the "Harbor Magic Club", and if you sign up online to be a Harbor Magic Club Member, they will send you an email to print and bring with you to get a room upgrade. We did this and ended up being upgraded to a very nice Harborview Suite on the 10th floor. Had a decent view of Inner Harbor. We also got a "welcome gift" of a recipe book and hot plate for being Harbor Club members.

Room had two rooms: one living room with a couch (with pull-out bed)/chair/desk/TV/closet/refrigerator/sink, and the other room was a bedroom, also with a TV. In the morning there is a full free breakfast served from 7 am till 11 am. Very adequate--eggs, french toast, bacon, hash browns, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, crossaints, bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, OJ, cranberry juice. The location of the hotel is excellent...easy 1 block walk to Inner Harbor and attractions. Will definitely stay again on my next trip to Baltimore.

GREAT LOCATION

from letsgoagain
We were walking distance to everything we needed
at the Inner Harbour. The staff was friendly and
accommodating. Breakfast is great: eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, muffins, juice, yogart, etc.
The lobby and rooms are a little bit worn but the hotel was clean. We would stay again.

This place is getting old.....in need of repairs

from A TripAdvisor Member
This building is in need of desperate repairs. I stayed there Aug. 6-8 2004. The drain in the tub does not drain properly. The tub filled with water within two -three minute while taken a shower. The tub overflows. Cleanlessness is a big problem here. There were used female pads stuck in the tissue box. I ask to get the drain repaired both days . Never got repaired. I payed $200.00 a night here, not worth it.

Nice Place to Stay

from CTG21361
I'm sorry, but I beg to disagree with those who say that this hotel is a dump, or that it is a disappointment. True, they charge you for the high-speed internet whether you use it or not. True, the bathrooms might not be the classiest, but overall, it is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. The treatment my family and I have received from the staff of this hotel has always been very good. The breakfast is what my son loves, and it is always a pleasure to check in here. The high-speed internet was great, as we got connected immediately after following the instructions and connecting the cord to our laptop.

My disappointment is that this hotel was already sold out when we tried to make our arrangements for this year's Otakon. We always check into this hotel every time we go to Baltimore. Because we could not get a room here, I made a reservation at the Pier 5, another Harbor Magic hotel, and I hope our stay will be as pleasant as the ones we have had at the Brookshire.

Would stay there again....

from MARYMS
We stayed 2 nights, June 10 & 11th, at Brookshire
Suites. Our suite was clean and spacious - a large bedroom, large living room, and small kitchen area with a sink, refrigerator, but no stove. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have complimentary buffet breakfast, ice cream and other snacks at night, internet, TV lounge, and exercise room on the top floor available for all guests. The best thing about this hotel is it's location. It is across the street from the beginning of the Inner Harbor - so it was an easy walk to the sight seeing boats, malls, and most restruants. The waterfront hotels are located on piers that may require a water taxi or a long walk to get to the main area, and charge much more for a single room than what we paid for a suite. It also had a free shuttle to it's sister hotel, Pier 5, so it was easy to get to the other end of the harbor. The worst thing about this hotel was it's $25 a day valet parking fee. We took this option because we thought we would be taking the car in and out frequently, which we didn't. We should have paid the $12 daily fee to park directly across the street in the same parking garage the hotel used. It wasn't worth the extra $13 (plus tips) for the valet to pull out of the garage and park your car at the curb. We would stay at Brookshire Suites again, but would park our own car.

Wonderful stay athe tthe Brookshire

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Brookshire was the perfect weekend getaway for our group of 10, not one of us could complain about a thing. The staff were all very professional and helpful, rooms were beautiful and big, very comfortable beds, and the location was perfect we could not have asked for more!! The champagne and Godiva chocolates were a classy touch , and the free transportation, as well as the passes were very much appreciated. We will definitely stay here again!!! Thanks Brookshire Suites for the memorable weekend!!!
