Top Local Tips for Kennebunkport
Whale Watching We booked a reservation with First Chance Whale Watching. When I booked I gave them a name and telephone number. When we arrived at 8:45 am for our 9:00am tour we were told they did not have enough reservations to take the boat out and cancelled the trip. VERY INCONVENIENT as we had planned our day around that excursion. I was not pleased. The woman at the booth offered us a name of another tour out of Perkins Cove (which was great) but the womandid not offer us a contact number or any other information that would help us as tourists. I was very disappointed and would not recommend this tour to anyone.
Lovely Kport Kennebunkport is a charming town. The beaches are limited, but the area is beautiful Most of the restaurants we have eaten in were very nice, including the time we got a pizza in Cape Porpoise. When it's rainy or just something else to do,it's about an hour's drive to Freeport (LLBean) and 45 min. to Portland. We've biked, canoed and have even used the library. It is quite crowded in the summer, but Sept. is very nice
