I always stop at the Best Western White House Inn in Bangor, ME enroute to visiting my parents in Sussex New Brunswick from Boston, MA. It's a great midway stopping point and is conveniently located off of the highway. The rooms are clean and quiet. The rates are reasonable. I'll continue to give them my business each time I travel.
