Great place right off of Bourban St

This was a nice clean place 1/2 a block off of Bourban St. If you want to be right in the French Quarter and don't mind a small room in a relatively small hotel, I'd srtongly recommend

Great Location, Good Value

from sgsilva
I stayed at the Prince Conti for 6 nights in February. Deceided to stay there based mainly from comments on this site. For the price, $139, it was a good deal compared to what some other hotels in the area were charging. My room was spotless and spacious. Though a little worn and ready for renovation. The staff is friendly and the location is excellent. Overall, a good choice in the quarter.

Perfect

The prince Conti is simply perfect. Spent two week here with my fianc?e (I purposed at the Hotel) over Xmas and had the most wonderful time. The location is perfect, noise is kept to a minimum, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the price was excellent.Try the Bombay club for a very pleasant dining experience. Try and get a private booth! Very romantic! The only problem we had were from some quests who booked in for one night, they were very loud and inconsiderate of other guests. However a quick phone call later and hotel staff were on hand. Our room was fairly small, but hey, who spends that much time in the hotel room when you?re in New Orleans? The room was clean and tidy with excellent maid service. The only complaint I would make about the room was you didn?t get a safe deposit box. However you had them at then front desk.Front desk staff were the best. So helpful, we arrived very late on the first night and they arranged with a local restaurant to reserve us a table and look after us. They had great local knowledge and information on things to do and see. We were also given a free bottle of champagne and breakfast when they found out I had purposed to my partner!Overall this is a fantastic hotel; great staff and service (try the breakfast!!!). New Orleans IS the place to go for a holiday. We will be returning!Steve

Would Stay Again!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! I come to New Orleans an average of once a month, and have stayed in numerous hotels in the Quarter. The service here is fantastic, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect. It's close enough to Bourbon to be close to the action, but far enough off the street for some peace and quiet (for those of us who like to sleep in). You can't beat the rates for a hotel of this quality.

Loved it! Felt like family

Absolutely loved our experience there! The staff was very helpful - friendly & the rooms were charming (pay the extra and get a deluxe room, you'll be glad you did). We would definitely stay there again.

Delightful French Quarter Hotel

Husband and I stayed here for a busy SugarBowl weekend. Booked room online through one of the discount hotel websites and though rates were high everywhere in N.O. for this weekend felt we received a good deal.
Great location for F. Q., withing walking distance to everything. All staff members were professional and accomodating. Non smoking room was very clean and comfortable and had no problem with noise from outside are from our neighbors. Occasionally heard noise but went right back to sleep. Bombay Club is fun, food is great and really enjoyed breakfast at Ms. D's, service is great. Have stayed at many places in F.Q. and each one has it's own personality. I will stay at Prince Conti again.

above average room at below average price

This is definitly the place to stay when traveling for pleasure. Rooms are small but clean. I've stayed at far more expensive places on business travel in the French Quarter but my wife and I were happy with our accomodations. 1/2 block from Bourbon St. and pretty much central in the French Quarter. A fifteen minute walk from the French market and 15 minutes from the Casino.

Thin walls resulted in an early wake-up call by neighbors!

I booked two rooms in the Prince Conti hotel for the night of Monday, November 24: one with a king-size bed, the other with two double beds.
We were immediately charmed by the quaint look of the historic facility, which was built in the 1700's. The greeting from the attendant at the front desk was lovely, and she was helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. The location was perfect for walking anywhere in the French Quarter. Tuesday morning found us strolling toward Jackson Square and then along the Mississippi for a late lunch at Mother's on Poydras.

Our stay, however, was tainted by extremely thin walls in one of the rooms. (The king bed room had no trouble with this - I'm not sure if their walls were sturdier or if the room next door was vacant.) The folks next door began getting ready at 5 a.m. and even suitcase rustling could be easily heard. We could not get back to sleep. Later I found that the next-door guests had been able to hear my sister's and my conversation the previous evening, much to my chagrin.

I wish that sound had not been a problem, as the hotel was very nice otherwise.

Fantastic Location!

Absolutely loved the location! The staff was very friendly & the rooms were gorgeous. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the bed was small for an advertised queen-sized. It barely fit two adults.
Besides that little side-note, it was fantastic. I would definitely stay there again.

The Prince Conti Hotel was such a bargain! Located in the heart of the French Quarter, you can't get a better deal! The service is excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean.

Top Local Tips for New Orleans

No jacket required As tempting as Arnaud's, Galatoire's, and Antoine's may seem, they're really pretty much overpriced tourist traps. As for a night out with a bit of class, don't be surprised if large groups of loud guys in faded polos manage to dodge the jacket requirement with a tip to the maitre d' and spoil your romantic evening. The French Quarter is lousy with overgrown frat boys trying to relive their cow college glory days, and they think a bit of cash buys them some class. It doesn't -- it just ruins your meal.

Sitting by the Mississippi Great place to sit once you pick up beignets from Cafe du Monde by Canal Street.

New Orleans Come back The City is cleaner, people are very happy to have you there.
