After three attempts to get a decent size room, I gave up and changed hotels. There is not a smaller room in the universe than those at the Omni Royal Orleans.

The Omni Royal was beautiful, the service was extraordinary and the room was plush. We loved it and would definitely go back. We found a great last-minute deal, and got all that for a steal. Very, very nice place.

Fabulous holiday at the Omni

My daughter and I stayed at the Omni Royal December 25 through December 28. Initially we were in a queen size room (small, but lovely); however, because of a housekeeping glitch, we were upgraded to a king. Management and housekeeping did everything in their power to correct the problem and offered champagne/fruit and cheese tray along with their apologies. The entire staff was gracious and accommodating throughout our entire stay. Even though Omni is a chain, the Omni Royal had the feeling of a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel absolutely enchanting. The location is superb and within a short walk to Bourbon Street nightlife, Canal Street shopping and casino, Jackson Square, all the quaint boutiques throughout the French Quarter, and restaurants and cafes galore. We were two women traveling alone and never once felt unsafe in the hotel or while exploring the area by foot. Thank you Omni Royal and New Orleans for a delightful holiday getaway.
Great French Quarter Hotel

We stayed at the Omni royal Orleans from November 16 thru 19. This hotel is excellent. the service is great and you can't find a better place to be central to everything in the French Quarter. We had a rate of $139 a night thru the Entertainment Card.

The Omni is in a great location. Close to everything in the French Quarter. Our room was a little small but had everything we needed. We were able to check in at 10:00 am on the day we arrrived. Did not have to wait until 4:00 to get in our room. Loved the observation deck and bar on the roof. Great place to have a drink and take in the view before going to dinner in the evenings. Beautiful hotel!

Thye Omni RO is very nice. My room was large and was very clean with nice amenities. We had an ok view of the action below. The lobby is beautiful, and the front desk staff is good. However, the bellman was very rude and cranky!! My real complaint is room service took like 40 minutes to arrive. The location-Excellent!!!

Prior to my trip to New Orleans I did extensive online research to find a hotel that met my particular requirements. Because of the excellent consumer reviews that I read here and elsewhere concerning the Omni Royal Orleans, I chose to stay there and was not disappointed. If you're interested in exploring the French Quarter the hotel is within walking distance of a majority of the most popular destinations. Every staff member with whom I had contact was helpful and courteous. The windows of my room looked out on the beautifully designed interior courtyard and one evening I watched from my window as a wedding took place there. The room was relatively small, but very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Of particular concern to me, as a 50-something female traveling by myself, was security and safety. The Omni provided both. I would definitely stay there again.

What a great location, at the corner of Royal Street in the French Quarter, yet a quiet side street. You can walk to everything. It is a classical, elegant hotel, filled with antiques and paintings. My favorite aspect was the rooftop pool.with beautiful, panoramic views of New Orleans. I highly recommend this hotel.Catherine R.

My husband and I went to New Orleans last March. We Pricelined for a hotel and got the Omni Royale. It was great. Right in the heart of the French Quarters. It is close to the Police Department and we never felt ill at ease. They helped us book plantation tours, and we could walk anywhere, and we did! The room was small, but very rich. The Rib Room is rated one of the best for BBQ in the city. It is close to Bourbon street so if one over does it, it is a short walk back. March is a little warm, so we will be going in January this year.

Excellent hotel. Bellman and staff were very friendly. Nice rooms and the location is excellent. Close to all the great restaurants - Antoines, Brennans, Petunias - and Bourbon Street; nice walk to casino.

Stayed here July 24, 2003. Hotel is lovely as you enter with bellman being very friendly. However, check-in wasn't at all friendly. Girl at front desk never spoke a word, just gave us a key.(we had prepaid). Room was tiny!!! We were given a queen SMOKING room that we couldn't breathe in. (We had requested non-smoking.) However, at 2 a.m., we called the front desk (and spoke to Mitchell--what a great guy!!) and he quickly moved us to king deluxe non-smoking room! Most of the staff seem to make a true effort to accommodate all problems. Pool bar is nice w/great views. Small pool though. No info in room for hotel restaurants/prices and other amenities. Rib Room has great food but rude staff and expensive prices. Overall great location but could improve amenities.

My wife and I found the Royal Omni on the internet, where we chose "Bed and Breakfast," for six dollars more than the same room without breakfast, $129. Of course, we assumed that meant breakfast in the hotel. What they gave us was 6 coupons at the Cafe DuMonde, several blocks away. And the "breakfast" was begnets and coffee.
If you wanted breakfast in your room, two eggs, bacon toast and coffee cost $15.50 each. And we still would have to pay the $6 per day for the begnets. Except we complained and they took it off.
There is a cheap terry cloth robe in the closet, which the maids place on top of your luggage. Top me, that means you are supposed to take it.
But I asked the front desk and found that the cheap robe costs $45.
The room (queen deluxe) was very small, the bathroom had only room for one person to stand. Small plain tub, tiny lavatory.
When we checked in, we were asked to initial a spot so they could charge us $100 if we checked out early.

Stella! Stella has excellent food, good service - expensive, but worth every cent!
Don't waste your money Much better places to stay in new orleans. save your money on this one, not worth it.
Rock and Bowl We went to the original Rock and Bowl bowling alley about 10 min by cab out of the Quarter and had a blast! They have live bands that play great music - we heard Zydeco violinist/band and a rock band - that play while you bowl. The bar at the alley was good and had good red beans and rice. The next day we went to the jazz festival and these same bands were on stage playing for 500,000 people! I would definately recommend the rock and bowl but be prepared - the cover charge was $20 and that didnt include bowling. At the same time, we were up front and personal with amazing bands that the very next day headlined the NO Jazz Fest!
