Only place we stay in New Orleans!

We go to New Orleans at least twice a year, and wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else. When we get to Maison Perrier, we feel like we are coming "home." The surroundings are impeccable: clean, luxurious, and warm. Great towels! Tom and Patricia are incomparable--they know and love the city, and they won't steer you wrong. Aside from the scrumptious breakfasts, there are always snacks around, and the weekend happy hour can't be beat. Just as good (if not better) post-Katrina, as before.

My wife and I have stayed with Tom and Patricia before and I stopped by in October 2005 to say hello and have dinner. They are the best hosts in the world. Their place survived the hurricane with minor damage, relatively speaking. They are among those committed to returning New Orleans to the great city that it was. One of the best experiences ever to stay with them.

We stayed at Maison Perrier in June for 4 nights. It was wonderful. Tom and Patricia are wonderful hosts and made everyone feel welcome. We were able to get lots of good recommendations from them as far as places to see and where to eat. Tom was very helpful making reservations for us.
The location is the best. It is a very short walk to the cable car which takes you almost anywhere you want to go. The neighborhood is peaceful and we felt very safe there. After a day of exploring New Orleans or walking around the French Quarter, it was so nice to come home to a quiet, comfortable, beautiful home and relax. The rooms are beautiful and the bed was comfy. We stayed in the Lillian suite and it was very large and comfortable, and beautifully decorated.
Make sure that you go down to the kitchen for breakfast every morning. It's definitely worth it. Can't say enough good things about this place and about Tom and Patricia. I would definitely stay here again if I am in New Orleans.

Wonderful bed and breakfast

My husband and I stayed here in March of 2005, and we absolutely loved this B&B. The neighborhood is great and quiet. The room was perfect - very spacious, clean and decorated very nicely. We stayed in the building next door to the main building. It was truly a pleasure to have wine and cheese with the owners and the guests in the afternnons - very pleasant, very accomodating with a nice and generous wine and cheese selection. And Tom made us diner reservations both nights, at places that were hard to get into.

Tom gave us maps, directions and recommendations on Plantations in the area, and Patricia cooked a hot and delicious breakfast for us every morning ... we were truly sad to have to leave the Maison Perrier and hope to return soon to this welcoming home!

We have just returned from a four night stay at Maison Perrier for a much needed bit of R&R. Tom and Patricia were warm and knowledgeable hosts, arranging transportation to and from the airport, going out of their way to make their guests comfortable (the guests were themselves a rather fascinating and pleasant group) and to arrange reservations at just the sorts of restaurants and activities we wanted to find. Very tastefully decorated and comfortable rooms (look at the pics on their website), cool and quiet, excellent breakfasts -- fresh fruit, good coffee, praline French toast, lots of newspapers -- and remarkably quiet and safe environment close to the street car line and to walks in the garden district. No need to search for anything else.

B Hotel in a safe and quiet neighborhood

The inn-keepers Tom and Patricia are very nice and friendly hosts. I arrived in New Orleans on the morning of 1am and as most of the hotel rooms were filled up, I had nowhere to go for the morning. Tom kindly allowed me to spend the night at the common areas of the hotel, which is a kind gesture I greatly appreciated. This Bed and Breakfast hotel is situated in the Uptown district near Garden district and about 10-20 min from the French Quarter. The neighborhood is a safe and quiet residential district. The rooms are well-kept and the bathroom is clean. The breakfast was great and desserts were available all day long. The wireless internet connection throughout the hotel made work much easier. All in all, if you are looking for a B&B experience in New Orleans where you can get away from the noise and craziness of the French Quarter, Maison Perrier is a great choice.

Great Inn in a Wonderful city

Our stay at the Maison Perrier was terrific! The Inn is in a lovely part of the Garden District of New Orleans. We stayed in the Lillian suite which was large with the largest bathroom we have ever seen. Our only complaint was there was only one tiny mirror for the 2 sinks in the bathroom. 2 people couldn't use the mirror at the same time.
The breakfasts were wonderful each morning. Tom & Patricia gave excellent recommendations for dinner, lunch & tours of the city to take.
This is a very quaint place to stay in a wild & wonderful city.

A Very Special Place!

From the moment we arrived, Patricia and Tom set the tone for what was to be a fantastic vacation in New Orleans. They were simply the most perfect hosts, filled with insider tips on where to eat, and what to do during our stay. While being extremely attentive to every detail so that our stay was top notch, they were also lovely, laid back people who truly enjoy running the house and taking care of their guests.

The house itself is simply gorgeous and grand, and at the same time very cozy. There's a sunny front porch with wicker furniture -- the perfect place to lounge with a drink after sightseeing in the late afternoon. There are seemingly a million places to sit and read, and on the weekends they host great guest-only cocktail parties with very good wine and snacks. Our room was gorgeously decorated and had many nice touches, from books in the room to the softest towels I've ever used - seriously!

Also, it's incredibly convenient - about a three-minute walk from the trolley. The neighborhood is quiet with other huge and well-maintained Victorians. And, one last word - the breakfasts are amazing. Every morning they always have fresh fruit and yogurt, along with breads such as banana or pumpkin (incredible), different juices and jams, etc. The main breakfast changes daily, with everything from homemade grits and omelets to gooey, yummy pecan French toast!

I really can't say enough good things. Don't miss this place!!!

If you are looking for a B&B in NO, don't miss this one. It is just a short street car ride away from all the most popular tourist attractions. The Maison Perrier is located in a residential neighborhood and it is a beautiful
building that offers large comfortable rooms and plenty of common space.

If you like to start your day with a full breakfast, again this is the place for you. Each morning offers something new and different and don't miss the afternoon homemade brownies and/or breads.

The owners (Tom & Patricia) live on the permises and they go out of their way to make your stay in NO most enjoyable. The places that they recommended were perfect for us. They are both very nice and will do everything they can to make your stay memorable.

For anyone looking for a place to have a small meeting, again this is the place for you. While we were at the Maison Perrier a group of executives
from a major company also were there. The B&B was large enough for all of us and it perfect setting for a small private meeting.

FYI I don't normally post a review but this one is too good to miss!!!!!!!!!!

The Maison Perrier was the best B&B my husband and I have ever stayed in. The hosts, Tom & Patricia, were incredibly helpful and always willing to provide us with outstanding recommendations for restaurants and activities. They were more than willing to accommodate all of our requests and made us feel right at home the moment we walked in the door.

It's in a great location as well, just a couple of blocks from the St.Charles Avenue streetcar stop and in the other direction, Magazine Street.

The next time we're in New Orleans we'll be sure to stay here!

Jacque Imos is the Best Place to Eat in New Orleans Jacque Imos is the best food in town - make a reservation at least 30 days in advance - the food cannot be beat - Fried Green Tomato's - Fried Chicken - Mashed Potato - Mixed Corn - and most important the Cornbread Muffin - it's amazing

Still a one of a kind city despite the devastating impact of hurricane katrina, new orleans remains a unique piece of americana for architecture, foof/wine, music, art, culture, antiques,museums et al...the bourbon st sleaze is avoidable easily...jazzfest the absolute best music/food event anywhere in the world...contrary to the news reports, the entire city didn't flood...not meant to minimize the devastation, but the French Quarter, the Garden District and Uptown are in pretty good shape....I'd avoid summer unless you're into extreme heat and humidity

Ogden Museum of Southern Art It's not to be missed!
