Fabulous...they will Not disappoint!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Le Pavillon hotel. Someone we know had recommended the hotel to us so we decided to give it a try on a recent visit to New Orleans. We were not at all disappointed. The service was fantastic! From the moment we first checked in the staff made sure that our every need was taken care of. The room was beautiful and our daily housekeeping made sure that it was spotless! We only had a few nights in the city, but the hotel gave us wonderful suggestions on what highlights we might not want to miss. All the restaurants were wonderful including the one in the hotel. We highly recommend their buffets and the dinner we had was fabulous! If ever we have the opportunity to visit New Orleans again we will definitely stay at the Le Pavillon. If you are planning to visit New Orleans, give Le Pavillon a call, they will NOT disappoint.

As Good As it Gets!!

If you're looking for luxury and special treatment and remarkably PERSONAL service, then Le Pavillon really is as far as you need to go. And no further. The first thing that you'll notice about Le Pavillon is that it's beautiful; those high ceilings, massive chandeliers, antique furniture and beautiful bannisters will strike you immediately. The next thing you'll notice, and the last thing that you'll forget, is that all of the people working there seem to think that this is a small hotel with a few guests - how they've managed to treat everyone with such warmth while still keeping things running smoothly in such a large hotel is a mystery to me.We had a fantastic time, the food was great, the room was lovely, the "value" was good and the service was outstanding. We'll definitely be staying here the next time we're in New Orleans.

Best Hotel

My friend and I booked our vacation through Expedia and booked our stay for a week in April 2003. Booking a hotel through Expedia is fast, cheap and efficient. The one thing you never know is how good the hotel will really be. I cannot say enough about Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans. My friend and I had never been to New Orleans before and needless to say had plenty of questions. The hotel staff were very accomodating and courteous, even letting us in on things we didn't ask about. I cannot say enough about the hotel and their staff. The room service was professional and efficient, and the food was fabulous.Although the hotel is not on the "main strip", Bourbon Street, it is conveniently located within a six block walk. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful to look at and they serve sandwiches at night for a warm and relaxing hour so guests can mingle and get to know one another. Whenever I return to New Orleans this will be the only hotel I stay at.

Loved Le Pavillion in New Orleans

This was my second stay at Le Pavillion and like my first is was a wonderful experience. I particularly liked going down to breakfast in that gorgeous dining room and being greeted by the wait staff. What a great way to start the day.The hotel is beautiful. I enjoyed my daily walk to the French Quarter and the service was attentive and courteous. I would return any day.

Pampered Like a Prince at Le Pavillon

Overall, Fabulous! My stay at Le Pavillon is one of the top things I remember about my trip to New Orleans. This was the one hotel that stands out from the many others I have stayed at. From the moment I walked through the front door I knew I would love this Hotel. The styling of the hotel was very luxurious. Check-in was very prompt and smooth. Everyday it was a pleasure to walk through Le Pavillon. The staff was out of this world. There was an attention to detail at Le Pavillon unparalleled at other hotels I have been to. You could always count on a high level of professionalism and care from anyone on the staff. Walking through the halls every staff member said hello - furthermore most of them took the time to address me by name and inquire how I was enjoying my stay. The concierge was always there to help me find a great place to eat or enjoy my free time in New Orleans. The rooms were marvelous. Accommodations fit for a prince. You could always rest assured that when you returned to your room at the end of the day that it was serviced and looked exactly like the day you checked in. While I was at Le Pavillon I did not even fell like I was at a hotel based on the treatment I received. It is rare in today's world to find a Hotel quite like this one. Rest assured, I will be returning exclusively to Le Pavillon when I return to New Orleans in the future. I recommend this Hotel highly. If you are doing New Orleans, do it right and stay a Le Pavillon, you definatly will remember it - I know I will for a long time to come!

t it romantic?

We stayed here for our honeymoon and Jazz Fest...it was a lovely experience. The rooms are beautiful, and the service was fantastic. The staff is incredible! Say hello to Roosevelt in the bar - a wonderful, charming man, and talk to some of the locals who hang out there. We won't think of staying anywhere else in New Orleans. It's a fantastic old hotel with lots of character, and the location is perfect - an easy drive to most anything in the city. We love it! -Roberta & David from Las Vegas

Le Pavillon is Wonderful!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I stayed at Le Pavillon for our honeymoon in early April, 2003. We stumbled across it on the Internet and, having stayed in New Orleans hotels before, were apprehensive about what we would find when we arrived. We should not have worried -- Le Pavillon is a beautiful and gracious hotel; the staff, from the concierge to the desk clerks, to the wait staff in the restaurant, to the doorman, were exceedingly helpful and friendly, above and beyond the call of duty. As guests in their hotel, they made us feel very welcome and very special. We were upgraded to a junior suite; our room was large, clean, and beautifully appointed. The amenities were first class, including fluffy white robes. This is a classy hotel with an attentive staff, and I would definitely stay at Le Pavillon again.

No better place to stay!!

If you want old world luxury combined with new world amenities, I recommend that on your next visit to New Orleans you stay at Le Pavillon. The ambiance and elegance of this hotel cannot be overstated. Everything from the hotel staff to the restaurant to the rooms were 4 star! The location is perfect, close yet far enough away from the husltle and noise of Bourbon St. Charm ? This place has it written over everything the eye can see. I cannot consider returning to New Orleans without staying here.

Bad Customer service

from A TripAdvisor Member
Room service was bad, service in the restaurant was slow, location isn't all that great, (if you want to go to the French Quarter often), room was just okay. Staff was very inattentive to my difficulties and rude at times. Could have been an off weekend, but I will NOT be returning.

Value was skin-deep

from A TripAdvisor Member
We arrived and checked in on Ash Wednesday, the day after the end of Mardi Gras. The glitter and plush were as advertised. Doormen's service was average, check-in backed up badly and with only 1 active front-desk employee handling everyone. We got room 724 - I recommend against it. Queen bed and other furniture over-filled it. Very limited bureau storage, made much worse by the fact that in that room you can't open the bureau part of the combo tv-minibar-bureau unit enough to get its drawers open. We used our suitcases and the shelf in the closet, which is what we expect to do in an Econolodge (and often don't have to). Housekeeping was poor. We discovered a wine glass had been shattered near the window before we checked in, not cleaned up. Called about it at about 2 in the afternoon, it got cleaned up the next morning. A peanut on the floor in the bathroom never got picked up across 3 days. Soap not replaced, shower mat not replaced one day, etc. Minibar protected by infrared sensor that charges you for anything removed, made using it for personal medicine, etc., impossible. (If personal things get left in a minibara, that's certainly another housekeeping fault.) Phone charges are high ($1 for any call, plus time charges), shower head is the "gentle rain" style which was more of a drizzle, hot water only lukewarm one day, never very hot. Health and pool areas are nice, location was fine for us - we didn't mind the 5-minute walk to Canal St. Overall, overpriced for the value, is my opinion, along with patently uneven quality.

Top Local Tips for New Orleans

Amazing Italian Try Irene's in the french quarter. Also Dick & Jenny's on Tchops is great for steaks and louisiana quisine, take a cab though.

Get off of Bourbon Street! Bourbon Street is in no way New Orleans or representative of all it has to offer. Take time to explore the rest of the Quarter, take in the sights of the Garden District, and talk to the locals that you come across. Highlights are walking around the Garden District (just be courteous and keep your voice down, people do live here) and have lunch at the Cafe in the Rink across from Lafayette Cemetery No 1. If you come across a man in the Lafayette Cemetery who claims to work there, ignore him. He is a homeless squatter. Just nod politely and move on. Engage the locals in light conversation and you will get a sense of the culture there, which is quite unique. Experience Bourbon Street once, even if just to find out that you hate it, and move on.

Chantuse at Le Pavillon The Chantuse in the Lounge of Le Pavillon is incredible.
