Two Thumbs UP!!

from leontynel
My husband and I along with two other couples decided to bring in the New Year (2005) Nawlins' style. Searching for hotels online proved to be too expensive, so I decided to look up bed and breakfasts and came across Creole Gardens. I was a little skeptical at first b/c I didnt' know much about New Orleans/ST. Charles area. Uly convinced me that I would love my stay at Creole Gardens. True to his word, our stay was great. The staff was extremely nice!! Breakfast was wonderfully prepared by Rhonda. John was nice to give us complimentary champagne. The rooms were nice and very clean. I loved the mansion rooms (A+). We will definitely stay there again upon our next visit to Nawlins. Keep up the good work guys!!

Loved the Creole Gardens

When my wife and I decided to vacation in New Orleans we asked a dear old friend for advice on where to stay. Our friend is a world traveler, and his insights are always on target. He didn't hesitate to recommend two places under the same ownership, the Creole Gardens and Castle Inn.

We just returned from our stay at the Creole Gardens B&B in the Lower Garden District in New Orleans, and had a lovely stay there. The room was great - very large, quiet, bright, clean, furnished with antiques, beautiful hardwood floors, and a very comfortable four poster bed. The staff was very friendly, helpful and most accomodating. The location is in an older neighborhood, but it was very safe. One block from the St. Charles streetcar line, and an easy walk to a number of good restaurants and shops on St. Charles. We never needed a car, as the streetcar goes right to the French Quarter, and cabs were convenient when we wanted them. It was just a few blocks walk to the great D Day Museum. A longer stroll takes you to a nice park with giant oak trees, and then to Magazine Street with numerous cute shops.

My wife and I truely enjoyed our stay at the Creole Gardens, and would happily stay there again.

What a marvelous find!

Eclectic and delightful accomodations. The true attraction here is the wonderful staff. Rhonda provides a full, hot, delicious breakfast and great company! Uly and John could not be more accomodating. As a business traveller, I appreciate the wireless high speed internet access (really a must these days and why I rarely stay in B&B's for work anymore). Can't wait to come back soon. Location is great also. I love it.

Great staff and breakfast

I recently had the great pleasure of staying at the Creole Gardens in New Orleans Lower Garden district. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and Rhonda always had breakfast ready for myself and my traveling companions every morning (the cinnamon rolls aren't to be missed).

The accomodations were wonderfuly colorful, comfortable and unique. Highly recommended.

Creole Gardens is comfortable and has lots of character. It's moderately priced and in a good location. The staff are cool and the ghosts are friendly.

Feeling at home

My wife and I recently took a four day trip to New Orleans to attend a convention. We were a little concerned that there were no vacancies at any of the hotels we checked. A co-worker suggested we check on bed and breakfast type lodgings there, which led us to find The Creole Gardens among many others in a Google web search.
The Creole Gardens is a very inviting place, very easy to find and in a perfect location for access to almost anything you might want to do in New Orleans. We chose one of the "Bordello Rooms" which is in the house right next door to the Creole Gardens Mansion, we were on the second floor with a private balcony on the front of the house which you enter from cool walk through windows in the room. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a private bathroom and shower, and decorated like you would imagine an early 1900's bordello. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly staff who were helpful with directions and recommendations of restaurants and shopping locations in New Orleans. On the second day of our stay, my wife and I were having coffee with John the manager on duty and Rhonda the breakfast cook (by the way breakfast is great cooked to order and served with a smile)
We noticed the banana trees in the courtyard had ripe bananas, and watched as John climbed up and cut a few bunches. The next morning Rhonda surprised us with delicious banana pancakes for breakfast!
We had a wonderful stay and made new friends. I will recommend Creole Gardens to everyone I know as a great place to stay in New Orleans, and my wife and I look forward to visiting again!

in the Big Easy!

This bed and breakfast was amazing. We felt kind of like we'd lived there all our lives and felt right at home! Andy was so hospitable and always ready for conversation. The rooms are so personalized and unique! There was a medly of restaurants
a minutes walk away, or if we wanted to go to the French Quarter, a five minute street car ride! We have found our niche in New Orleans and will be back to Creole Gardens on our next visit. Just don't eat on Bourbon St. unless you really want to stay in your bathroom the whole time! You must stay at this enchanting B&B!

It was like traveling back in time!

I loved the atmosphere and the fell of the Inn. We stayed in Miss Lulu's room in the Bordello Annex and we fell in love with the decor - very cozy and romantic. The location was excellent and having the streetcar just 1 block away really helped. I would definitely stay there again in the same room;.

Affordable, convenient, safe and in character...

Compared to the other prices around the area, this location was several dollars under. Just one block off of St. Charles and the trolley, you can park and forget about driving, using the trolley to get to the zoo, d-day museum, aquarium, food and the quarter. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean, the weekend breakfast great (eggs, biscuits, etc cooked by a local downhome cook!) and we will be back. The construction is winding to a close so don't let that be frighten you. Anything in NO thats not under some sort of repair is deteriorating! so that just life on the coast...
A thumbs up...

Absolutely loved it!

ok, my fiancee and I headed to New Orleans for the weekend to do some wedding planning for our wedding in October. I found the Creole Gardens guesthouse on the internet and loved the pictures so I thought we'd give it a try. When I called to make my reservation, Kerry was extremely helpful and kind. She was actually outside waiting for us when we arrived on Friday night. She showed us to our room and then gave us a tour of the place. The place is amazing. I love the courtyard, we spent a couple of hours both mornings eating breakfast out there and sharing stories with Andrew, the part Owner/ General Contractor on the Inn. The room was outstanding, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was perfect and the coffee was plentiful. I will definitely be recommending this sweet little Inn to all of my out of town guests for my wedding. Thanks for a wonderful stay guys!

Top Local Tips for New Orleans

For good music.. Stay off of Bourbon Street...go to Frenchmen St for jazz and blues! Take cabs everywhere...no need to drive since parking is awful and everything is so close!

St. Charles Trolley is Non-Funtional Just worth noting, the St. Charles line of the New Orleans Trolley is still out of service.

for a real New Orleans lunch experience Have lunch at a great place called "Li'l Dizzy's"....order the trout.
