We booked a baby shower here a couple of weeks ago and it was the worst experience EVER. We were only in the building for 5 hours or so and by the time we left the mother to be was almost in tears. They rented us a room, that included tables, chairs, table clothes, ice, and the ice bin. Upong arrival, nothing was set up, the room was empty!! Despite the numerous phone calls to confirm exactly what was included. There were so many calls made because there is a horrible language barrier, the owners barely speak English. Which could have led to some miscommunication, but when the owners were confronted, they were RUDE and unprofessional. They showed no concern, no customer relations, and they never once offered to make things easier. Even when the grandmother asked for the table clothes they told her to go to the laudry mat and get them if she wanted them!! These people should not be running anything dealing with the public. The pool was molded, the conference rooms were dirty, the bathrooms were nasty and didn't have soap or paper towels. The entire hotel smells like smoke, despite that its non smoking. I have never experience such an upleasant transaction with hotel owners or workers. I will NEVER recommend this place.

On Friday, February 9, 2007, we checked in to what we thought was a moderately price hotel. Upon entering our rooms, we found an unclean straightened up room. The restroom had live and dead bugs in the toilet and bathtub, and on the floor around the tub and toilet. Inside the tub was hair (different in color and texture), a blue solution was sprayed in the tub (cleaning solution, I hope) and left to dry, never wiped out. Carpets in rooms had not been vacuum, there was visible debris and trash on the floors. The table, dresser, television, nightstand and coffee pot were dusty and not cleaned. We returned to the front desk, clerk showed us at total of five rooms all in the same condition. We were informed that housekeeping was not on the premises nor was there a manager there, only the front desk clerk. We had to clean the rooms, in order to change clothes for the family visitation of the funeral. The desk clerk brought me towels and cleaning solution for me to clean the rooms, we stayed in. On Saturday morning, February 10, 2007, the complimentary continental breakfast consisted of stale muffins and cereal, rancid juice from a filthy juice dispenser and coffee from a visibly dirty coffee pot. Around 8:30 am, after getting dressed for the funeral services, asked Danielle (Front Desk Clerk)for the manager. I was informed that the Front Office Manager, Rachel Marvin was only on the property Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. I was also informed by Danielle that we could check out, she would refund us the previous night, because Hammond has a lot of more suitable hotel facilities. This occured as a result of asking for the manager to file a complaint, about the condition of the hotel, my step-mother's funeral started at 10 am. We stayed with my father after the services until late. Upon arriving back to our rooms, there was a note on the floor containing a generic apology. Apparently, this apology was given after an unauthorized visit(entry) in our rooms. I know this, certain items were either moved or replaced. On Sunday, February 11, 2007, upon checking out of the hotel, a different clerk informed us that our rate had been discounted $5.00 per night. She was unprofessional and rude. Because we have family in Hammond, we frequently visit and stay at area Hotels. Our stay was horrible.

Reeks of smoke and pets. Shows signs of significant neglect. Work crews roam throughout rooms without i.d., mold growing in baths and ceiling, hole in bath tub, exposed electrical wires, shoddy reconstruction.
