| Nasty Facility/Rude Staff |
| On Friday, February 9, 2007, we checked in to what we thought was a moderately price hotel. Upon entering our rooms, we found an unclean straightened up room. The restroom had live and dead bugs in the toilet and bathtub, and on the floor around the tub and toilet. Inside the tub was hair (different in color and texture), a blue solution was sprayed in the tub (cleaning solution, I hope) and left to dry, never wiped out. Carpets in rooms had not been vacuum, there was visible debris and trash on the floors. The table, dresser, television, nightstand and coffee pot were dusty and not cleaned. We returned to the front desk, clerk showed us at total of five rooms all in the same condition. We were informed that housekeeping was not on the premises nor was there a manager there, only the front desk clerk. We had to clean the rooms, in order to change clothes for the family visitation of the funeral. The desk clerk brought me towels and cleaning solution for me to clean the rooms, we stayed in. On Saturday morning, February 10, 2007, the complimentary continental breakfast consisted of stale muffins and cereal, rancid juice from a filthy juice dispenser and coffee from a visibly dirty coffee pot. Around 8:30 am, after getting dressed for the funeral services, asked Danielle (Front Desk Clerk)for the manager. I was informed that the Front Office Manager, Rachel Marvin was only on the property Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. I was also informed by Danielle that we could check out, she would refund us the previous night, because Hammond has a lot of more suitable hotel facilities. This occured as a result of asking for the manager to file a complaint, about the condition of the hotel, my step-mother's funeral started at 10 am. We stayed with my father after the services until late. Upon arriving back to our rooms, there was a note on the floor containing a generic apology. Apparently, this apology was given after an unauthorized visit(entry) in our rooms. I know this, certain items were either moved or replaced. On Sunday, February 11, 2007, upon checking out of the hotel, a different clerk informed us that our rate had been discounted $5.00 per night. She was unprofessional and rude. Because we have family in Hammond, we frequently visit and stay at area Hotels. Our stay was horrible. |
