Word of advice to the Isle Casino: Tear it down!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have stayed at the Isle of Capri Inn before, and knew what to expect - however, the trip we took in June was the last we will make to the Inn. I'm embaressed for the Isle of Capri, we generally like their casinos, but the Inn is in much too bad a shape to be offered to their casino customers.

The room we received in June hardly had any working lights, and I was concerned about security since they had a chain lock on the door. Things had a generally unkept appearance and we also had to wait for about 20 minutes to get an extra towel. The hotel appears that it hasn't been refurbished since around 1982.

There is nothing wrong with their breakfast, that seems to be the best part of the hotel.

The cost is cheap but I think I would rather pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Honestly, I think that running the Inn is really bad advertising for the Casino.

Wonderful stay at the Isle of Capri in Bossier City

We have visited the Isle of Capri twice. We just returned from our last trip in September.
Wonderful. Staff all friendly. Our room was clean, food great, and casino was great. We recommend to all our friends.

Not impressed

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband planned a trip to the Isle of Capri for my 21st birthday and we were not impressed. Our first dissapointment happened once we got to the room, we could not open our safe deposit box so we called for help. The front desk assured us that someone would be there to fix it and noone ever should up. Then we had problems getting our players card to work, our room servies forgot half or our food, when we asked questions about the points on the players card the people made us feel stupid for asking and the next moring we didnt receive our wake up call! To add to the experience we lost all of our money (which is no surprise).
To me when someone comes to your hotel & Casino for the first time you should feel welcomed, not like you have to spent tons of money before you get good service and comps.
We were not impressed.

Worst hotel ever !

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is very old and in deep need of repair. The Isle of Capri should be ashamed to have their name associated with The INN. The pool is cracked and the rooms are NOT clean. The room that I had only had 1 towel and it took about an hour to get another 1.

s alright. Not too bad but not the greatest

I have to say first off that the front desk ppl are very friendly. They were very helpful in getting me my reservation back since I had cancelled it 2 days before b/c some friends bailed. We checked in on Sat. afternoon and stayed in our room 2 hrs before heading down to blow our money. At 8 we came back to the room and my boyfriend somehow knocked the thermostat cover off the thermostat so we called down and they sent someone up right away. He took the air filter and told us he was going to replace it. So we left the room and went down to the casino and on to another one.

We came back at 1am to an extremely hot, humid room. We looked at the thermostat and it was on 50 degrees. Obviously that wasn't the truth. So we called to the front desk again, told them what happened earlier and they sent someone up right away again. Problem is, he wasn't really sure what he was doing. He said to wait 45 minutes to see if it cooled off in the room. 45 min went by and yep, we called downstairs again. This time the first guy came back with another guy. He said that we'd have to change rooms and went downstairs to tell them AND even came back up to get us. He walked us to our room. It was a smoking hadicap room so the shower was a little awkward. We didn't even get to sleep until 3am after everything.

We went down in the morning (after a 30 min wait at the elevators) and complained. The lady at the front desk was very nice and took care of the charges for us which I found extremely nice...even though our experience was kind of awful.

It's not that bad of a place, we just had some unusual things happen while we were there. BIG PLUS to the staff though. Everyone was very helpful when we asked any questions.

s in the Details!

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Isle of Capri puts on a fancy front but loses much in the details.

For example, our room had only two towels and no bathmats for safety. The only towels were by the spa - not in the bathroom. (You'd be a bit out of luck if you failed to notice this detail before taking a shower!) The sheets felt like 120 thread count and the mattress was hard as a rock. The pillows were old, lumpy and hard and no extras were provided.

We didn't eat in their facilities but did get some of the worst and most luke warm coffee on record in their food court.

Note that there is no huge benefit in staying at a Casino Hotel in Louisiana. All the casinos are quite a walk from the actual hotels (not like Vegas where you just walk downstairs). Save your money for gambling and stay off premises!

It was great for my family.

We spent 3 nights at the Isle and had a great experience. I enjoyed a massage, sauna, and awesome shower at the spa two days in a row, while my husband took our sons (age 7 and 5) to the pool. The boys and I shopped while my husband played in the casino. Then the four of us enjoyed the pool again. The pool is just right for my boys and they made some new friends. Then in the evening we had the boys play at Enos Playhouse (childcare in the hotel) so we could enjoy a nice grown up meal. We had pizza delivered to the room for the boys late at night. While I enjoyed a bubble bath, my husband went gambling, the boys ate pizza and thought they were in heaven. It's my understanding that every room is a suite with a large bath including a jacuzzi tub, separate shower; the living area was comfortable and we had three tv's. The service in the 24 hour deli needs to be improved, the buffet was good and Kitt's kitchen had all you can eat ribs that were good. We didn't try the steakhouse. We all want to go back again.

Probably the worst tourist trap in Lousiana

from A TripAdvisor Member
To celebrate a first wedding anniversary, we thought it would be fun to stay at a hotel casino with 3 to 4 star accomodations. Was this place ever a mistake. This is the first hotel I have ever been to that refused to let anyone check in until exactly 4pm. Then after waiting all that time, the room was still dirty. I was quoted a price of 89.00 dollars per day, but for some reason was charged 101.00 per day plus tax. I felt like I had to clean up after the maid service on my anniversary night with my husband. The staff was not polite or helpful. I didn't see the point in having a reservation number, as the front desk personnel didn't want or take my number. Overall, we didn't stay for the full time, because it wasn't worth it. In the end we ended up paying almost as much as we were quoted for being the the entire time. I would not recommend staying at this hotel to anyone.

Short but Sweet!

from A TripAdvisor Member
A vacation trip allowed us a day & night stay in Bossier City. A Website provided us with a great rate for a mid week stay at the Isle of Capri Hotel.
We had a King room and spent nearly as much time in the jacuzzi as the casino-still won enough to pay for our vacation!! We will definitely stay at the
Isle of Capri Hotel again!!

Top Local Tips for Bossier City

Hotel Deals At Casino's We love to travel and always looking for discounts and free room offers.

Arrive on time If you are olanning to be in a room by noon, you might want to make reservations the night before so you will already have a room the next day. The rooms are usually not ready by then. Maybe between 4pm-6pm. Call ahead of time. Check for check-in times. Always reserve your room with a credit card about a week or two ahead of time. So the day you want is not booked.

Diamond Jacks - no AC - Mold problem ,terrible Customer Service! From start to finish - nightmare! We arrived, checked in and they informed us that because we booked through Expedia, we would be stuck with a smoking room. We had our toddler daughter with us so this was immediately unacceptable. They then proceeded to tell us there were no non-smoking rooms available and they would spray sanitizer to help with the smell (which by the way made the smell worse). We had to be at a wedding party within an hour so we had no choice but to stay and hope it wasn't too bad. We go up to the room and immediately noticed it was very warm and humid in the room. We turned the AC on and left to go to the wedding party at another location. When we returned, the room was still hot. It was 11:15 at night and we called the front desk... who said they would send maintenance up. 2 men came up to the room, talked about some "hot" 25 year old girl the whole time they were in the room... one of the men was in his sixties! They had no regard for my young daughter or myself while they wasted about 25 minutes in our room - only to say the compressor was broken. About an 1/2 hour later, now after midnight, we moved to another smoking room - No one helped with our bags and we had a very sleepy 3 year old with us. I forgot to mention the wood rot and mold all around the jacuzzi tub which added to the horrible musty smell of the room! We we got home back to Dallas I realized, amidst the chaos, I had left a brand new blouse in the hanging closet in the first room. We called and they have it, but they won't ship it. I've tried talking to several people all of whom refer me to someone else. They have hung up on me twice - and do not return my calls. Do not stay at Diamond Jacks - you will have a better experience at Motel 6!!
